Is the FL 10 years older than the ML? Because it seems her family was killed when she was around that age, and I'm assuming that's the same year the king tried to kill his newborn child (ML).

Which translates to: The Spinster's marriage

In 2011 I went back home to my family who lived in the Middle East at the time and in one of the nights I was staying up late I stumbled upon this show that was airing on CCTV Arabic channel around midnight. I instantly fell in love with the show, the story/topic, its characters and most importantly the beautiful yet heartbreaking theme song that comes on at the end of each episode. I didn't get to finish it as I had to travel back. For some reason I've just remembered this show and spent the last 20 minutes searching for it online.

You make perfect sense, and I agree with you 100%.
Besides, "darker" themes does not equate to death, violence and murder. To me its more about real life struggles and social issues. That's what I care about and intrigue me the most. "Darker" to me just means "not-so-rosy" and more "REAL".
