I just started watching this drama with extremely low expectations since it's not really my preferred type of genre but I have to say the first couple of episodes have been really solid!
Dropped after a few episodes. To me this has the same problem as Master of my own and The autumn ballad. Why would the FL fall for the ML when the ML is very rude/abrasive other than it says so in the script? I really don't get how this can be so highly popular and have such a high rating.
Have they solve the three body game at this point?
Not yet as of ep 14. They are making progress but currently stuck on trying to figure out flying stars. The gang is shifting focus towards Ye Wen Yie and her younger days working for Red Coast.
Just finished this. Overall a really enjoyable wuxia/fantasy series. The fight scenes/cgi I think where really good. The camaraderie and bonding between 3 leads in the beginning was a joy to watch.
Some issues I think pulled the rating down for me, for example;
Since they got off the Island I feel like the pace slowed down a lot. Like they ran out of budget so a lot of episodes had no fighting. For example I suspect that they cut the last fight scene with the boss eunuch due to budget reasons.
I didn't like how FL was written and the romance with ML felt forced. I read a comment saying that the character was written childish and bratty but the actress looked too old for the character and I agree. I would have preferred a more maturely written FL or at least if you are going with the bratty FL trope, cast a younger looking FL.
Didn't like what they did with Wuxins character in the later part of the story. And with regards to that, where was the white haired deity?
Didn't like how Dark River leaders so easily killed Tao sword deity and heavily wounded Xueyue sword diety and then all of them got away unscathed. 1 or 2 of their leaders should have died in this fight. To me it really diminished the title sword deity.
After the Island I felt like they should have had more scenes with ML and 2ML cultivating. In a way I guess it's badass but honestly it's also sloppy writing to have the ML have a sudden power up that seemingly comes from nowhere just to defeat the final boss. Let the audience know what they are capable of otherwise it just feels like a deus ex machina plot device power up.
The bad prince could have been better written. To me he felt borderline cartoonishly evil up until the last few episodes when he was given some back story. Do the backstory earlier and make him more complex.
Still enjoyable, strong recommend if you are into this genre.
Just watched ep 35, my god this show slowed down a lot lately. Ep 35 was just talking pretty much. As someone mentioned earlier I think they ran out of budget or something. Still enjoying the show but it definitely lost steam towards the end.
I like that divine healer got way more screen time than anticipated, when she first showed up I would never guessed she would get this much screen time.
Long wait now until next week for this to wrap up. For me likely end at 8-8.5 rating. The slow pace towards the end makes me lower the score from 9.
I'm at ep 15 and I'm starting to loose interest. Up until now this series was really good but since the time skip and the brothers came back I really don't like the FL. She is supposed to be 25 but behaves like she is 13. Wont drop yet but started to fast forward regularly now.
Me, too. I feel like it becomes a "fight for the throne" like many other shows.
Ok, will of course check that out. As an example of what I mean with this show is since Xiao Se got his powers back, there has not been a single minute devoted to at what power lever he is at or what he has to re learn. Only focus on the "main plot". I would prefer more balance between main plot and cultivation but since they got off the island there is 0% cultivation and 100% drama plot for 10+ episodes.

I know I am in the minority here but I would really like to see a wuxia/fantasy that is more focused on cultivation and growth of strength rather than getting bogged down in revenge drama plotting and/or romance. Usually with a kindhearted naive ML that is too forgiving and too trusting, falling into traps. Example would be Fox Volant ML.
Ever night and SSS and comes to mind, those ML had really good growth strength wise but was always badasses.
This show is good but for me I would prefer more focus on cultivation rather than princes plotting against each other. But as I said probably a majority of people would think that would be too boring.
Is it just me or does it feel like they kinda blew all their budget on up until episode 23 when they fought the earth deity. Feels like we have not gotten any epic fight scene since then. Still enjoying the show, lets see how they wrap it up.
Watched the first 3 episodes. I quite liked it. It's slow paced with good cinematography but I can see why some people wont like this. There is this brooding sense of dread and confusion from the first episodes which I enjoyed, sets the atmosphere of the show. I'll keep watching and see where it goes.
Ended up dropping this at around ep 25. For me not good writing. Started strong but then turned into a dragged out soapy love triangle/square/quad focused almost only on the romance. Should have focused more on flight incidents and her road to captain and letting the romance take a back seat. Have ML get past his trauma way sooner in the drama and have them hook up earlier. Usually it's better writing to have the ML/FL hook up and have the drama issues come from other sources other than the ML/FL themselves, similar to Hi Venus.

Such a great science fiction drama.
It started out a bit chaotic but once you get deeper into the story, settle in and some pieces start to fall into place it's really terrific.
Dynamics between the leads is great. They are all smart and capable as they come together and try to figure out what is going on.
The show at some parts captures a sense of dread, melancholy and suspense.. I really want to know what is going to happen next ...
