I was really impressed by Song Yi's acting in episode two towards the end in the scene where she told herself that even if the Gu mansion was going to be hell she would keep her eyes closed and get rid of all the obstacles. Stoic and vulnerable at the same time.
Watched up until ep 9. So far this is really solid. The leads are mature, no soapy drama, no love triangle. I like that the story is mostly focused on their careers with the romance taking a back seat rather than the other way around. Leo Wu feels much more relaxed and natural here as compared to his performance in LLTG.
How many times have ML saved or suddenly appeared in front of FL when she is in a dangerous situation? I lost count. It's just one example of terrible writing, having to constantly rely on on "deus ex machina" interference to resolve a situation.
Can accept it once or twice I suppose but this drama have a dozen of those situations.
Either something is wrong or MDL changed how often the ratings are updated. It's been stuck on same amount of votes for several days now I think. The rating seem low as well since most of the people in the comment section like this drama.
What a train wreck of a series honestly. After the reincarnation and she ends up in the EXACT same situation. Still getting bullied by Miao Yuan and unfairly accused at every single situation by the Elder sage ... only thing that changed is FL is talking just slightly less in a baby bratty voice.
For me the worst part of this drama is how the characters Miao Yuan and Councilor Sage are written, just completely 1-dimensional evil for the sake of being evil against the FL cause it says so in the script.
Another sub par thing is how many times the FL had to get rescued by the ML and other people, very lazy writing.
Another negative is the FL acting. I guess she is getting type caste into these types of pouty, bratty roles, just like she acted in Heroes. For example in episode 10 she came across corpses of her peers but still she acts bratty and completely unaffected. I guess It's directors fault as much as the actress.
Really struggling with this. It had it's moments but the romance is just bad. I guess these type of super typical romance centered K-dramas are not my preference.
