Yeah, her character was pretty weak-willed. I don't know if LXY was really over her because he assumed that she now loved Zijin and maybe she did. But she did try to make it work with him as she had already married him and LLH tried to convince her that he has no feelings for her. She also tried to make it work with LXY in the past but he was always worried about the Martial World at that time. So it's not much different with both men. She gave both relationships a chance but she never actually got over LXY. Again when I think about LLH giving up on her, it makes me think he did so partly because he had no intention of living once he solved his senior's murder. The only thing that affected him was finding out just how much his senior hated him. You could feel his pain when he kept repeating "I looked for you for 10 years". He really felt like a fool for caring and not understanding who his senior really was. All the more reason why I wanted him to have a good life with FDB and DFS as friends for a change. They all had tough lives in their own way. lol. I'm not getting over this easily.
This is so funny. I put off watching this drama and while binging it, I found out that they have split the season with a month's gap between the two. And then if it turns out to be a sad ending after all that waiting... XD
I've watched 3 episodes but since a war is being depicted, I just wanted to know how depressing has it gotten and have they depicted any sexual assault scenes in this (a lot of talk about this in the drama)? Just so I can be mentally prepared.
I dont think he wanted to die, He just didnt want to disturb the peace of the country because he was the only…
Yeah that's true. They did FDB as well as DFS and Wan Mian dirty. Wan Mian and him could have been together coz her husband was crazy. lol. I was so annoyed and depressed after seeing them end it the way they did. If you completed it with the telecast then it must have been worse for you. I still don't understand why they needed to add a special episode when it could have been part of the final episode. I'll probably get over it after a while. Can't remember the last time I was this upset over an ending though. XD
It's definitely not a clear cut ending, but I love this open ending and I don't think it needs to be as sad or…
When I wrote this comment, I didn't see the extra ending scene. Though there are still 2 versions. One where the camera zooms out and there is no one on the beach meaning they didn't find him. Although, why would he be on the beach? Thank you for being respectful of my opinion. Your explanation does make sense. I can understand him faking his death. I just wish the drama had cleared that to us, the audience, that he survived. So it would then make sense why he disappeared. The original ending with just the goodbye letter is just too tragic. Or at least that's how I felt after I watched it. It's because I kept waiting for him to be cured for 40 episodes.
He lived and they found him on the beach also in the novel he didn't die
Choosing to use the flower doesn't mean choosing the sect though. He lived selflessly in the 10 years. Even if there is a 30% chance, he could have taken it. And he found out about the emperor afterwards. He rejected the flower before that. He didn't have any intention of curing himself. And of course he wouldn't exchange his master's wife's life in order to live longer. That's different. We can only hope a solution was found like growing a second flower but the note that the show ended (without those extra minutes) implies he left to die quietly. I wish they had shown a solution at the end instead of what we got.

Where did you read the statement from the script writer? The original ending (not including the extra scene) is just that he doesn't show up a month later and everyone reads his goodbye letter and are worried he died.
The leads are getting married and happy and XinXing's ex is still obsessed with her watching their video together…
Oh you mean XinXing and her ex? Yes, he never registered their wedding but that is normal in their culture so them having had sex after the wedding ceremony is not abnormal as they were on their honeymoon. And TianYu already knows they had sex. He doesn't care about any of that. The video just shows the state the ex is in now that the couple have gotten married. And we can presume it'll be registered as nothing can dissuade him from marrying XinXing. 😊

That just proves that the emperor is not a just and qualified leader if he was unjustly holding a grudge. Anyway, he didn't want to eat the flower's leaves even before he found out that the emperor is poisoned. Surely there would have been more flowers so he could have been healed as well. He could have made some sort of oath not to claim the throne. But if he had chosen to heal himself, he could have helped so many more people like he wished. Every action of his points to him carrying some kind of guilt and wanting to die or maybe he thought he should have died 10 years ago. That's why it feels heartbreaking to me. I just would have liked to see a proper happy ending rather than an open ending.

There are 2 versions. One where the camera pans out and no one is on the beach implying he's dead. Basically the directors chose an open ending so that the audience can be satisfied by picking any ending that they want. I just don't get why he needed to disappear in the first place. He clearly didn't want to be treated.
I read about the novel ending in which he didn't choose to be treated there either. Guess they didn't want to depict him as ill and frail anymore so they made him vanish. The part that upsets me is him choosing to die in such a manner in both the show and the novel.
Check the new cctv version of the special ending. It kinda confirms LLH is alive
I did see that version. It's more of an open ending. I just don't understand why they chose this type of ending though. Surely they can find other flowers to treat him.
It is definitely hard to accept. From the very beginning I think his mind was set. He didn't want to return to…
But he doesn't need to return as a sect leader. He can still choose to live like a wandering physician and heal so many more people. I don't understand why he didn't want to be cured. He was punishing himself unnecessarily.
Ah! I figured out what the ending was about. Or at least this is what I feel it was meant to portray...check spoiler.
The leads are getting married and happy and XinXing's ex is still obsessed with her watching their video together and drinking himself to oblivion. I don't think it means anything more. And he cannot use it because it's not like TianYu didn't know she had sex with her husband. The sister already gave him up. The video was just showing the rock bottom her husband has reached while XinXing gets her happily ever after finally. :)
I'm depressed after watching that ending. Not even kidding. I had a slight doubt that he gave the flower to the emperor but I thought maybe they are just keeping his recovery for the finale. So with this ending they are saying that essentially he wanted to die and that is heartbreaking. And to think I avoid depressing shows and this came out of nowhere.

How do I recover from this?
