This is someone who is actively supporting genocide. And they are far more privileged than any ordinary citizen being a celebrity. And even if you believe they are in another North Korea, you are still accepting their propaganda willingly and, if anything, making excuses for why one shouldn't just do anything in the face of it. How do you differentiate someone who is actually bigoted from people who parrot bigoted ideas? In the end, the suffering is real. What you choose to do is your choice. I have simply alerted viewers of it's existence. You shouldn't have a problem with my mentioning of it for other viewers to make their choice.

Indeed. In fact a lot of my friends do not watch any cdramas for that very reason. In my case, I don't presume everyone thinks the same because after all that's not possible either and have been watching and regularly recommending good series. I do understand what you are saying though and I agree that such line of thinking will not be uncommon. It's definitely something I'll have to consider going forwards. Thank you for your response. It's given me a lot to think about.
yes!! honestly my bar is quite low with webdramas but this one is unexpectedly good. i'd be careful with the subject…
Ah, thanks for the warning. I am quite sensitive towards such topics but I also feel so empathetic towards people who are hurting and feel drawn towards them so I don't mind such topics even if it makes me cry. I will add this to my watchlist. Thank you. :)

I do not believe in silence personally but you don't see every celebrity singing praises of the genocide. Or maybe I haven't because of the language barrier. So if I am wrong about that, let me know, I'll immediately adjust what I watch.

It might not matter to you but it matters to people who reject fascism and dictatorship. And those who don't wish to support a series by an author who supports Uighur genocide. Thus my message was solely for people to be aware and of course everyone can choose to watch or not to watch. As I never called for anyone to boycott the series. Simply made people aware of the fact that they might not know just like I did not before I started the series. You can be a Chinese celebrity and not say things to justify the actions of the government. Silence, though a weak option, is still an option. However, his statements justify their actions. That's the difference. Hope that helps. :)
Then wait for the sanitized version from Netflix. You never read any of the books of the trilogy. Just flash the…
Yes, I did not watch the Dune. Not related to this series but I expected the whataboutery. Yes, I do not watch or support fiction from fascists after I become aware of it. And yes I understand that there are a lot of pro-government apologists on this website. But there are many out there who this information does matter to. So you can be happy with your government's propaganda, but not everyone has to. This message was to those who oppose genocide. Do I watch other Chinese series? Yes. Because I do not link every individual artist with the government. But when the author blantantly supports Uyghur genocide, then one must pause and question their intention and meaning hidden in their work. If he is promoting dictatorship subtly through his work then there is good reason to reject such propaganda or at least be aware of what we are watching. Your answers seem quite rehearsed btw. :)
For someone who doesn’t usually watch sci-fi, is this confusing to watch and follow?
It depends. The story takes things slow and builds it up so you can follow along. It explains concepts in a simple way. The main thing is your interest in the subject. If you are curious about the universe and how things work, then you'll enjoy this too. Give few episodes a try.
My problem is that the investigation part is really weak. It's not good enough if you like mysteries and problem…
That's interesting. The thing is, the whole concept revolves around neuroscience which is the only reason for me to keep watching. Like I'm interested in seeing what he wants to analyse in a psychopath's brain but they never seem to get to that. He just put one brain in storage. Now he's after another. Feels like the plot is weak so they are just filling in with comedy. But it's not to my taste. Yes some of it is funny. But not their bickering. Maybe it'll improve. I preferred the bickering of the leads in Ghost Doctor because it added to the plot rather than distracted from it. That might be why it's boring for me. Hope this show gets better in terms of cases and the mystery then I might be able to enjoy the comedy more.
Guess I'm in the minority but I really want more science and case solving and less male leads bickering. The mystery is appealing to me more than the comedy. I like some of it but it's not what makes me want to keep watching.
This is tagged as "Sexual Abuse". Is there a graphic depiction of the abuse? Also, does this series have any nudity? Want to be aware before I start watching.
The second episode was better but I'm a little lost. Do they explain things further down the line? Because currently they are focused on fighting a plague.
