If they change it it will be better because the novel stuff is so depressing. In any case, I will keep expectations at 0 so it'll be nice to see a good ending rather than get my hopes up and get disappointed.

After ignoring Gao Tu's story for 14 episodes, now we suddenly have his father in the picture. Ugh. And Shen Wen Lang finally found out Gao Tu is the one in the hotel and he's an omega. Even after knowing this he won't meet him for 3 years? I don't think they can properly deal with this in 1 episode. It's too complicated.

Just started and Wen Lang is blowing up Gao Tu's phone and I just want to yell, "Gao Tu, put your phone on silent. You've quit your job." 😂

I don't think it can be satisfying at this stage. I don't know how much of the story is left for the other couple. But leaving it for this long, we can only imagine how it will be handled. Just a fast forward time skip perhaps.

11 mins in the prefinale feels so little if it were any other show but that's a lot for ABO Desire. 😋 I'm really happy to hear about the progress too. Going to watch it now.

Haven't watched today's episode yet. Just wanted to askhow much of Gao Tu's story was shown? Any progress?

Okay, I wrote this before I completed ep1 so I should have kept watching but my list of ridiculousness is growing from just this 1 episode. God is speaking to Iblis in badly pronounced Arabic (it took me a few seconds to realise it was Arabic) and refering to him as "my dearest"??? LOL. I mean come on! Yes, God is Most Loving but this is satan we're talking about!! I get that this show is supposed to be a comedy but I'm laughing not because it's funny but because it is absurd.

I just started it and to be honest, I already had low expectations when I saw the trailer and heard the name iblis.
Iblis aka satan is a major figure in Islam. They did introduce it as represented in the Quran - iblis is a jinn and like all jinns he is made from smokeless fire. Then man aka Adam was created from clay. God asked all his angels to bow before Adam (Iblis that held the status of an angel despite not being one) refused to bow down stating Adam being made from clay. God was going to cast him out of heaven but Iblis asked God for respite until the Day Of Judgement and he will do his best to lead most of humanity away from the path of God. This is the also what the drama covered though the intro was too fast so not sure how many people would have caught it.

Now they also introduced rebirth which doesn't exist in Islam so they mixed it in. They also added in genie and the 3 wishes concept which is somewhat there in Islam. Basically practioners of dark magic use devils from among the jinn to do things for them like harming other people for money. So really you can wish for more than 3 things.

My problem is not that they are trying to depict a love story between human and jinn which has actually happened. But showing it between Iblis and a human. Imagine a political leader you loath and despise and then imagine them falling in love with you. It is that level of insanity as a plot. So the idea was decent had they not used Iblis.

Also Iblis who is like a king among demons was trapped in a lamp for 100s of years? Again if they had just used a regular jinn, it would make sense and not the most powerful among them. I think the scriptwriter should have consulted at least some Muslims with basic Islamic knowledge and this would have been a story that everyone could have enjoyed.

Even if I ignore these religious aspects, so far the show isn't impressive even though I like the actors. The storytelling could have been better but they made it quite confusing that I am having to replay parts a lot. And this is just episode 1.

The comedy has been okay. Iblis stepping on his own hair is kinda relatable so I was amused but they overdid it. The leopard turning into an actor I would have not expected got a laugh out of me. I liked the grandmother and the FL's backstory. Implying Iblis can't grow a beard was not really funny but it might be funnier to Koreans. Waiter speaking Korean in Dubai was an odd choice. Most dramas would have just used English for a foreign country. The desert tour was quite boring. But maybe they made it up just to shoot separately from the crowds.

Let's see, maybe the show will get better but I'll continue with low expectations for now.

I took it to mean that he just cares about Kauro so he named him that because he also liked the name. I think if he was, the fact that he went to jail might be why he is hiding himself.

Yeah. They made it seem they were related but apparently not? But it would have been nice to know a bit more about him.

The finale was decent.

The 2nd last episode felt so weak. I don't know why this show has so many ups and downs. I don't mean the story but the presentation.

It started off great. Then became a bit boring. Then great again and now it feels painful. Too many twists are also not good. The final episode hopefully will be it's saving grace.

I also love the opening theme song but I can't seem to find it on YouTube so if anyone finds a link, do share.

They are kind of obsessed with the glands maybe coz it's the omegaverse. But there are other ways to kill a man if that's your aim. 🤷‍♀️

Yup. They had the option of adjusting the story if they have listed the other 2 actors as main. Now their parts look like a joke. But it's good I have no more expectations and I already saw spoilers of the novel so I'm no longer curious either.

Gao Tu isn't fragile. He is a strong person and even after everyone has been horrible to him, he is still good to others.

True. Gao Tu's character is barely in the show. So sad because even with minimal screentime he made an impact!
