Even "based on" wouldn't be correct since the ML is a prosecutor while the original ML was a magician. There are other dramas where one lead sees ghosts and the other is a cop or lawyer or shaman, etc. Guess we'll have to watch to see how much of the original story has been adapted to understand why they want the same name.
I was at ep 7 thinking okay 10 episodes... I can do this. Now it's 18 episodes. Are they kidding me? I don't know what great secret it is that it needs this many episodes? It's not like they have interesting side plots. They don't even have a decent main plot.
FL knows it's bloody night/week so she walks slowly until murderous students almost catch up and then she runs a bit for 6 more episodes.
How is it that these students didn't once think, let's kill the admin/principal and get out of this crazy place? Or just jump the fence. These students must really be dumb. Maybe society is also happier with them locked up because seemingly 100s of students (real count might be 25) and not 1 parent filled a missing children's report? I can also think of a bunch more inconsistencies and absurdities but meh.
I'm confused as hell. 😂 what the heck happened at the end? I was also annoyed by his running. Like dude, cabs…
I thought he had already done a good job until he made the guy run out the house. It went downhill after that. The last few seconds were even worse. Just pick a lane! Reuinion or separation!
DON'T TRUST THE BAD REVIEWS - THE JAPANESE DRAMA IS BETTER.
No spoilers, just an honest review: I watched this drama before I watched the Thai and I really loved it so I couldn't understand why people were rating it so low. If anything I watched the Thai version expecting it to be better and I didn't enjoy the chemistry at all. There is definitely a bias going on in the review and comment section. There is even someone who rated it 3.5 yet they couldn't point a single flaw. They just rated it badly because they like the Thai drama. So unjustified!
The stories are essentially the same in both versions but other than the opening scene which is less confusing in the Thai version, everything else is better in the Japanese version. The younger Thai ML plays a VERY CHILDISH character which was a turn-off whereas the younger Japanese ML is portrayed as shy, quiet and softspoken which was quite adorable.
There are so many scenes that were comically bad in the Thai, that are HOT in the Japanese version. I DID NOT see those NC scenes coming. It's not something I have ever seen depicted in a Japanese drama so I was shocked. In a good way of course!
All the side characters were enjoyable to watch unlike most of the Thai ones which were boring or irritating and made me watch in 2x. In the Japanaese drama, they don't waste so much time on silly dialogue exchanges with the extra characters and depict their dynamics efficiently.
The mother's background story and conclusion was depicted in a much better way than in the Thai drama which even Thai drama lovers agree.
The Japanese BL does exactly what a remake should do - it not only depicts the original plot but also improves upon the weak points in the original story. Is the Japanese version flawless? No. But the flaws in the Japanese version come from the original itself. They haven't changed the main story. Just portrayed it better. So if you dislike the Japanese version, you're not going to like the Thai either because it's the same story.
I don't know any of the actors in either of the dramas and found the Japanese actors cuter. But that's just me.
After watching both, I would say just skip the Thai version since the Japanese drama is superior.
3.5 doesn't make any sense because you didn't even explain why you disliked the Japanese version. Japanese version is actually much better than the Thai. The Japanese actors did a better job. They even improved the mother's story which was horrible in the Thai one.
