Yes, the turned the plot into a school shooting. I get that horrible things happen during dystopian situations. And if anything, people act more selfish at times. All that kid cared about were his CSAT scores and they just made the exam harder to balance it out as if they didn't just risk they lives to save their country. In a way it was honest in presenting that governments don't care about the average citizen and everyone is expendable. It was too dark and tragic with several plot holes for my liking. The only positives were the starting few episodes which is why I even gave it a 5.

My main issue was the disappointing direction the show takes at the end which apparently is not what happened in the original source material. So they went out of their way to make the plot worse rather than stick to the original. I don't really care about a sad ending IF it is done right. In Duty After School, everything seemed pointless towards the end. I guess you can say different things appeal to different people but quite a few people disliked this version of events.
