So you might consider not trying to censor the people who don't like the show. We're all entitled to our own opinions and we have a right to share them here, just like you do.

Yes! You nailed it. Perfectly! It's such revisionist bullshit. Kuea wanted to break the engagement because Lian heartlessly insulted Kuea while informing him that not only did he not love him but that he was only marrying Kuea because of a promise to his family.

I gotcha. I'm an older viewer myself. And I am not going to read the novel because I feel that the drama should be judged on its own merits.

I don't mind if someone enjoys the drama, and I certainly love the cinematography and set design. Except Lian's house. I have seen that house in too many dramas now. But I can admit artistically it's well made.

I just can't get into the relationships because they're too unhealthy. There doesn't seem a point in which Lian especially does any growing. Which is sad because I love Zee.

I'll make you a deal. You answer my question about "likes" as proof of actual popularity and I'll give you a few BL dramas I liked.

And I never said I was still watching it. I'm here because I have friends who are making hilarious posts every week and I follow their reviews. While I'm here I also respond to the community based on what of the drama I did watch.

The writing in it is awful. The pacing is awful. The characterizations are really cringy.

The difference is probably in what some people think is "lighthearted". I, and some other people, don't find Lian and Yi and Jay's toxic behavior lighthearted content. It may be meant as humor, but that doesn't mean everyone is going to find it funny. And given how I was actually enjoying a trend away from early 2000's toxic BL trends, this show is a big disappointment.

If you like it, cool. But there's nothing wrong with not liking it too.

Uh views don't mean approvals. I watched it and hated it. You want to impress me show me how many "likes" the episode got.

Foei is creepy. He sits there and giggles like he's getting off on what Lian gets up to. Not a fan of him.

I agree with everything you've said. You hit on the problems, bullseye. They will sweep the really iffy and down right scary things Lian has done under the rug when this man is so, so toxic and controlling. It's meant to be sexy and cute. It's really not.

If you don't like that someone is hiding who they are then you patiently foster the trust they need to be honest with you. You don't lash out, ignore their agency, lie and then manipulate and control them to get what you want.

There's a lot that Lian has done that is just so unhealthy. And it's going to suddenly be all sunny and cute between them at some point. But I doubt I will forgive him.

I'm not seeing anything iconic here. I'm really underwhelmed.

I wasn't expecting much. But this whole thing feels like a big step backwards in storytelling. Thai BL's were just starting to move forward just a little from feeding the audience fetishization of toxic male leads. Now we're at it again and I'm not pleased. This is just one of many new BL's this season where I feel like a healthier trend in storytelling is kinda being chucked out the window.

I was like noooo on the kissing while drunk. But a shocking number of people didn't get why that was not okay.

But I expected the toxicity to be handled differently. Better? I don't mind a toxic character. I do mind a toxic character whose actions are presented as reasonable.

We all need to remember that this comments page is for everyone. You don't have a right to tell other people to leave if you don't like their opinion. This is an MDL page, not your personal website.

I personally do not like Lian and would rather drop him in the ocean and get Kuea someone who loves him just the way he is and supports his attempts to be free instead of controlling him in sneaky ways or doing other ridiculously awful things to him.

That's my opinion.

You really are too ridiculous to be believed. We don't have to wait to call out bad stuff happening in the show until we've seen the whole season or read the novel. We don't have to read a novel, the show should give us all the facts we need in order to judge it.

In a situation with non-consent, the cops should be called. Except your definition of consent leaves me thinking you don't realize this.

And so much for being done with this topic, since I noticed you made a new post with the same complaint further up. Seems to me you should maybe worry less about what the rest of us are posting, since your advice about things we don't like it to not expose ourselves. Sounds like advice you should take.

Yeah, I'm one of those Make or Break people. I'm about done with Lian's toxic behavior. He better ditch the lame control issues and stop trying to manipulate Kuea or I'm out of here and I'll jump on the twitter bus straight to some sane protest of the series.

It was slow. Thea slowest part to me seemed like the moments with Yi and Lian together doing the whole crappy bet thing.

Hey, I hear you, friend. Diao is great. And the drama isn't what I was hoping for. I think that arranged marriage BL's are rare, so I was curious. And based on the trailer I was hoping for better. Maybe it will improve with time. I'll let you know if it does.
