The emotions are very blunted in Cutie Pie with Lian and Yi. But with Kuea and Diao I almost feel like the exact opposite is happening. Their emotions are way out there and all over the place.

If you have no other options, I get you. But once I'm done with this I would rather rewatch old favorites than visit this again.

Uh, probably not. Tiger's are protected, but that doesn't mean they can't be privately owned in Thailand. I guess. So long as the animal is registered, probably. It's legal to own them in the USA for sure.

This made me mad. I was holding out for something serious. Only to find out Yi is letting Diao's family mess him over because of a childhood accident.

It's meant to be Kuea, I guess. But he's not cute in this at all.

He is. But in a cool, smart way that skips the whole "pathetic" component of most simping.

Yes, that makes no sense. It never did. They established that this was not a thing that happens in Thai society. That it's very unusual. So it's not like this is some mystical "other" Thailand where this sort of arranged marriage is normal. At that point it needed better setup as to why.

His music revenue could be very significant if he has a big enough following. He would definitely make sustainable income, I think.

His parents cover his school and housing, I assume. But he has his own cash on the side. I don't know where I read/heard that though.

That makes no sense. If Lian was mad then he would have taken the words back later, apologized for hurting Kuea's feelings and then he would have actually talked to Kuea like an adult.

The claim that he never loved Kuea was just part of a bigger manipulation.

I have heard of UWMA. BadPennyGirl suggested I watch it. But I wasn't sure how rough it was to watch since I know that there's a suicide in it? I think?

I am not familiar with Boun and Prem but they seem very hot.

I don't think a show's trending status has anything to do with its quality. Tons of bad shows or movies trend like crazy. That doesn't mean that overall they're great.

But it's cool if you like it.

Constructive is many things. It's sometimes "I liked X about the show, but really hated X about the show." Sometimes it's "There was literally nothing I liked about this entire drama. It was a waste of my time and it sucks!". Sometimes it's "This show is too big of a nightmare train wreck. Toss it out the window, grab the creative team, and try again." Sometimes it's "This show is toxic bullshit! And then an analysis of a couple of core scenes that demonstrate their point. Sometimes it's "This is a big pile of gross fan-service and fetish tropes." In particular I think that last one is very constructive, to the tune of wishing the director could read it.

That being said, I don't think something necessarily comes from a place of hate just because it's not constructive.

I also think "most" is as imprecise a term as any. I doubt very seriously that "most of the comments are coming from a place of hate". Especially since we don't really know where they're coming from for sure. We can guess. But we're not omniscient.

And hating on the actors isn't cool. I have yet to see any of it so link me to some of it.

Okay, I'm going to stop you right there. No. I am not going to read the novel. The drama should stand alone on its own merits. Like every other show I have every watched, I will judge it for what it is, not what the source material is.

And whether it's lighthearted is open to interpretation. I and many others do not find it lighthearted. If you do, fine. But that's for each of us to decide for ourselves.

And by all means, link me to some of this hate. Obviously I've missed it.

There are tons of constructive criticisms being made. Several very smart and in depth break downs just today. Some sassier remarks too, but that's obviously not a problem for you.

And the only time I saw a post where someone used actor names instead of character names it read less like they were confused about reality and more just so uninterested in the content that they didn't bother remembering the characters' names.

That's still not trying to stop the show from being popular. If you don't like the posts, don't read them. It's that simple.

And no one has made ANY "pure hate" comments about the actors. No one has said anything hateful about New, Zee or any of the others.

Saying "Fuck character X" isn't hating on the actors. Calling the show "toxic" isn't hating on the actors. Using words like "bullshit" to describe the plot isn't hating on the actors. Hate is disparaging a person's gender, race or sexual identity. And no one has done that to the characters, let alone the actors.

No one is trying to stop the show from being popular. We're using the Comments section for what the Comments section is meant to be employed for. We're commenting on it.
