I like it so far, but you have to ignore some weird cuts. Like, she’s rescuing the cat, some boys say they’re going to pick on her and suddenly the cat is in our hero’s hand. You never see the teasing or the cat move. And later, you don’t see the Shakespeare performance, but the ML keeps referring to her as Juliet. It’s easy to follow, you just have to fill in random blanks. And, until the second episode , I thought the snowman boy and the cat boy were the same kid (I wasn’t paying enough attention) so I was confused why the ML had to figure out her name.

I’m just thrilled this is not a Chinese remake of the kdrama, because the original was sooo good and I can’t imagine a cdrama improving on it. Not sure I’ll watch this after some of the spoiler comments, though

I watched the first episode and it seems like it’s going to be good.

Okay, I know all these dramas make weird style choices, but what’s up with that vest thing he’s wearing after he’s discharged from the hospital? I still remember laughing in the Korean version when he arrived in his denim on denim, but this outfit had me choking on my lunch

The SML is the absolute worst. How delusional is he? I watched the first half and skimmed the second, because it was too long and drawn out. The weirdest part to me was the storyline with the third guy at the design studio. They made it seem like he was going to be romantically interested and even gave him a female sidekick to be scheming and jealous one. In the end he just ended up being a really good support for her career, which is great, but the initial set up was weird and they did Ms Bai’s character a disservice by making her seem like she was jealous. Maybe I’ve watched too many of these and now I see love triangles looming from every corner

I went backwards after that scene to try and see, because I tend to fast forward and thought I might have missed something, but, no. She does flirt with him and tell him she wants to have a meal together to talk about the job, I think, but that’s it. He’s creepy

I know this is way late, but this makes so much more sense to me. I was certain she and the emperor were going to hook up and was a bit disappointed when they didn’t.

I saw the first episode and I liked it because it’s like they fast forwarded to my fave part of Thai lakorn, when the heroine gets her revenge. Usually I have to watch her get abused for 20 episodes and then finally get proven right at the end followed by just a few minutes of evil MIL finally getting taken care of. This time we start with the good guy getting her revenge. All payback all the time. That’s what I’m here for

I’ve put it on hold after the first half of episode 4. His sharp turn from jerk to caring and her flip from reasonably scared to protecting the jerk are too goofy

Their relationship takes a sudden and incomprehensible turn in the first half of episode 4 and he becomes kind. And this is where I stop watching. Not because I want him to continue to be abusive, but because it’s so ridiculous that he suddenly decides to be kind to the person he should have been kind to from the start.

Oh, you were kidnapped and nearly died because they were attempting to murder your wealthy doppelgänger, but she saved your life and died in the process, so now you have to be her. Nope, that’s silly. Man Ning was only in that situation because of her. I do like that they made XinYan a good person who didn’t abandon the innocent victim, though. If Yan Xing Cheng were maybe a little kind, just a teensy bit, I’d like it better. Threatening choking her has not put me on team Yan

If you ignore the ridiculous reason they use to make her pretend to be the other girl, it’s pretty good. The male lead is definitely hot, but based on current behavior towards an obviously innocent victim he wants to help him, I have a hard time seeing how they’re going to believably change him into her love interest.

They probably aren’t really all going to chase her, at least seriously. The crown prince and #11 are probably more friends and any love interest will be shortlived. It’s #4 and 2 who are going to make the triangle, although it’s obvious from the start who the ML is, so no real competition.

This drama is both so good and so painful. No c-drama of any variety has ever made me as angry and upset as this one. To be clear, it’s excellent, but I never forgave the emperor, even if she does, and those scenes were heartbreaking. The betrayal was so intense. The kicker was his second, albeit less intense, betrayal with another woman later. Just an extra kick in the teeth before I leave you to manage this empire for your entire adult life. And his reason basically being that she was sweet and had no expectations. Ugh. I shouldn’t have posted this because now I’m mad all over again.

I watch many lakorns that piss me off, like this one, when the ML abuses the FL lead when she has done nothing to deserve it, but I can forgive when he has to pay the price in the end before getting the girl. This ML may have looked a little mopey at times, but he didn’t take near enough punishment and he still got his revenge in the end. Do not forgive this one.

I think this lakorn is pretty likeable, if you can ignore the screaming little sister. She’s the worst

It’s almost over, so I’m obviously going to finish it at this point, but it’s really pretty boring. I thought it was going to be good at the start and then it went south.

The FL isn’t great, I’ll admit it, but the ML is such a whiny loser I’m not sure why anyone in the comments is on his side. The thing that killed me was after kidnapping, forcing marriage, raping, and then chasing her down causing a rollover accident that almost killed her, when she divorced him, as previously agreed, AND returned the money she technically no longer owed him, his response was to whine “Why are you doing this to me??” Probably because you’re an abusive rapist who also called me a whore several times, I guess. Yes, she’s dumb as a box of rocks, in typical lakorn clueless FL tradition, but he never has any character development, ever.

In her defense, there was no reason for her to tell him she was Chu He, because, as far as she knew, he wasn’t playing. He didn’t tell her despite knowing she was Chu He. Honestly, though, the weird cuts have made me stop watching the show.

I actually enjoy watching this show, even with the cuts, but nothing has really happened and we’re 18 eps in to the 25 total episodes. I think the end is going to be unsatisfying. The winged dude hasn’t even done anything yet and we spent too much time with Yebei.
