I'm re-watching ep 4 & 2nd Aunt & old Lady Cheng were really cruel. To basically ambush a new mother with her…
I just rewatched that, too, and it seemed like they were scheming to keep the grandson (because they favor boys) and were forced into keeping the granddaughter they were unaware had been born, leading to her childhood of abuse. It was just cruel to leave her behind with those terrible people

My favorite thing about this drama is that they are letting the female lead have real, meaningful relationships…
I have high hopes for YS character development. Right now he’s cynical and jaded, because he has a lovesick mentor who can’t even work up the courage to apologize and explain to his former fiancée who has long since moved on AND he’s pursued like he’s the last man alive by every eligible female who sees him. His current mode of courting seems to be telling stories of fading love and failed relationships to his crush, which is not terribly effective, if funny. He’s got to gain some perspective and empathy to become a decent relationship candidate
On Love Like the Galaxy: Part 1 Jul 15, 2022
My favorite thing about this drama is that they are letting the female lead have real, meaningful relationships with other suitors. She’ll actually grow through relationships, like real people do. And, whether you like LY or not (and I do), she’s not ready for LBY and he’s not ready for her, too focused on revenge (which I’m sure is going to be an issue, since they’ve been foreshadowing with stories of making difficult choices between love and duty and CSS has clear abandonment issues). Although their relationship is ill-fated, LY is good for her right now. I know she and YS will eventually get involved, too, and I’m hoping this is meaningful also. And, as much as I like the other 2 guys, I surely won’t get second lead syndrome because they will have had a complete relationship with a clear conclusion, not just some goofy, unspoken, one sided thing.

The mom is killing me. Especially in the last episode, she is upset and crying because her daughter doesn’t understand her intention and thinks she’s trying to harm her. Well, of course that’s true. Mom left her as a baby and then, after years of abuse at home, mom returns and, instead of supporting her, punishes her, denies any of her positive qualities, wants her to be quiet and polite and nothing else. The kicker for me was when she called all her efforts to save the city, not to mention defend against bandits and care for the wounded, a bunch of tricks. She sucks. I don’t care about her intentions, her actions speak louder. Leave the girl alone and let her make her own mistake with boys. You didn’t do any better with your in laws.

genuinely questioning if people who are hating on lou yao are watching the same drama i am watching. how on earth…
I agree. And, obviously, this is a drama and we know it’s not going to work out, but if you removed drama rules, he would actually be an ideal partner in a world where people don’t always marry for love. If his family is nice to her (that’s a big “if”), this would be a perfect marriage. He helps her, she helps him, they have dreams of living a peaceful and free life together as partners. It’s idyllic. Her chemistry is better with both of the other two and clearly something is going to happen to destroy this engagement, but, until then, I think they’re sweet

The funniest thing about this drama is the number of times the ML asks why she’s mad, wants to divorce him. I mean, maybe it’s the fact that your entire relationship was a deception to get her money. Or, maybe it’s the psychological abuse you heaped on her when you decided you never wanted to be divorced. Or, maybe, just maybe, it was the kidnapping, rape, chasing through the woods to catch, tying up, and imprisoning for days. Maybe that was it. 🙄

Title So Wayree
I do like this drama, but it’s wild to me that anyone thinks the obvious rape the ml commits at the beginning is not his fault because he was “tricked”. Even if you accept that he believes everything he was told, she is obviously under the influence and barely conscious. They keep showing the clip of her being practically carried into the hotel room over and over again throughout the series. That’s rape, no question, even in lakorn-world. And don’t get me started about the aftermath after they sleep together the second time. He’s a bad guy, no doubt. And, like Gun or not, he’s the good guy for siding with the girl against his friend.
On Woori the Virgin May 10, 2022
I like the first episode and I was a Jane the Virgin fan. I have to watch it without comparing to two, because Jane the Virgin hit hard on the telenovella style and that’s part of what made it great. This one seems to take the same story line, but it’s all k-drama, at least it doesn’t seem to have that telenovella vibe yet
On Something about 1 Percent Apr 30, 2022
I mostly like this show. It’s got both good and bad points, but I think it should get extra credit for playing the mom objecting to the rich guy marrying the poor girl at just the right level. Some of these drama moms are so terrible and they get away with it (oops I accidentally poisoned the girl, but now they’re married so we’re friends!) This mom didn’t like the idea, she made her opinion clear, but she never tried to hurt the girl or ruin her reputation. She was polite, but not welcoming and she eventually came around. It makes sense that she could grow and actually develop a good relationship with her daughter in law by the end.
On The Rebel Princess Apr 26, 2022
I really do like this drama and I’m all for suspending disbelief in most things related to Chinese costume dramas (I can accept that all the pretty, petite made up girls wearing a top knot and vaguely masculine clothes are perfectly camouflaged as men, for instance), but the age thing is just so hard to deal with here. The actress is in her 40’s, but the princess is 16! The, supposedly older general is played by a younger actor. It’s just weird. I honestly don’t know how much time is supposed to pass in this drama, but I doubt the character ever gets near the actresses age. I think I would have preferred it if they hadn’t so strongly announced her age at the beginning and tried to make this adult behave youthful. She is a beautiful, mature actress and the early attempts at childishness were weird.

You should also check out the Turkish version, the 2nd FL is really gorgeous. https://kinemaniatv.net/tvshows/seviyor-sevmiyor/
Yeah, but the ML turns into a real jerk after he finds out the truth and gets all revengy. I do appreciate that he doesn’t let the FL get away without any criticism like the other versions do, but it goes too far. That’s kind of a hallmark of all Turkish dramas,

In what aspect did you prefer the Korean one? I watched this first, and mostly liked it, though it was too long…
I think she gets less annoying around episode 6, more confident and does less annoying things.
On Pretty Li Hui Zhen Apr 7, 2022
Having watched all of the Korean version and much of the Turkish and Chinese version, the Korean was better than both, by far. All three are very successful at making you like the second guy better, though.
On Princess Agents Mar 28, 2022
My fave thing about Princess Agents is that the title sounds like you’re going to get a light hearted drama about a group of crime solving princess, but then you turn it on and it starts ripping your heart out in episode 1. It’s also very good.

Yes! That shirt!

I like it so far, but the fact that his revenge seeking would not have been necessary if he had just walked up to her and spoken to her after the bandages were removed is exasperating. He knew/loved her for weeks and, after just a minute, from a distance, without ever even looking her in the eyes, he decides that all the preceding weeks were lies and that one minute is the truth and now he should destroy her life because his little feelings are hurt makes me want to scream. But, anyway, I do like it.

Is it worth watching, guys? Is the ML too agressive?
So far, three episodes in, some grabbing and pulling, being a general jerk, but nothing I would call too aggressive, if you’re comparing it to other Thai dramas. On a lakorn aggression scale of Tarm Ruk Keun Jai to Sawan Biang, it probably ranks somewhere around Kon La Kop Fa 😁

Title Sawan Biang Spoiler
If he weren’t an irredeemable psychopathic rapist who physically and psychologically tortured the future love of his life for the first 2/3 of the series, I might have bought into his redemption arc. Honestly, no pity for him. His reasoning is so week. “My daddy doesn’t love me enough and won’t believe I do good things!” I can’t imagine why…

Hey! Can you pls let me know where can I get the Turkish version of this?
I’m curious about this, too. I didn’t know there was one. There is a similarly titled Turkish drama, My Home My Destiny, but it is a far different story. It is good, but definitely not a comedy. There is also a one night stand/pregnancy show called No. 309 that is closer in plot. It might be what this is referring to. You can watch that on YouTube.
