I love the romance even though it's slow burn. Tian Xi Wei and Yan An are gorgeous together. So at first they were arranged to marry, male lead hates the female lead due to mistaken identity, they agree to one year marriage and divorce later, female lead tries to seduce him anyway for survival, male lead refuses her advances coz although he's now attracted to her, he doesn't want false affection. Even so, male lead is super jealous of other men who likes female lead. I like that the male lead is not a total simp. He's smart and even at those times that he believes that he hates her, he still protects her. The kisses, although few are good.

Yan An said that Lu Zhuo fell for Wei Rao when she defended the Lu family against Prince Rong and Han Liao and later when she sought justice for them in front of the emperor.

Tian Xi Wei is collecting all the CDrama actors with insane face cards (at least for me) - Zhang Ling He (ex husband), Yan An (current husband) and Song Wei Long (future husband) 😏

But if he can only act once with TXW, it's better to choose WTME so all is good haha.

Tian Xi Wei and Yan An pairing is good too. I remember there's a melon before that they were cast in Genius Girlfriend. So there was a plan to pair them up before. I'm glad they chose to pair up in this drama instead but I'm sure they will also look good in modern drama.

They got mad due to the divorce. Maybe it will rise again when the couple gets back together. 😂

In the novel it was very slow burn.

My guess is that they are not twins but relatives. That Guo aunt in law might have schemed with the Empress Dowager to kill the only child of Zhou Fu/Li Ren but they cannot openly do so. To avoid suspicion, they just replaced the real daughter with a fake one. In the novel, the Empress Dowager hates the Zhou women so much. While in the drama, Guo seems to want to be the matriarch of Wei family and get full control so she chased out the mother. Who knows maybe they also had something to do with Wei Rao's dad's demise coz he was the favorite child before.

I love it when their faces get closer. Both are beautiful.

In the novel she knows martial arts and had a master. Maybe she does but is hiding it.

He is the son of her mother's sister so yeah they are first cousins but Wei Rao has no feelings for him.

He's weirdly sweet to her in today's episodes that I suspect that he already knows at least that she's not the bad Wei Rao he had met before. I think he believed Han Liao's accusation.

Lu family has 4 sons. 1st (Lu Zhuo's dad), 2nd & 3rd son all died in duty while the 4th son is crippled and not showing up.

On Wei family's side, Wei grandma has 3 children - eldest still alive with his wife and one son (studying at the academy) and daughters (Wei Chan is the brat like Wei Rao while Wei Shu is currently the wife of the crown prince), 2nd son who is Wei Rao's dad who is dead and finally the aunt who dotes on Wei Rao brat seems to be single and childless.

On Wei Rao's maternal side, the Zhou, grandma has 1 son (dead) and 2 daughters alive, Wei Rao's mom is the youngest. Simp cousin Huo Jue is the son of the 2nd sister who has remarried a rich merchant.

Qi Zhong Kai and Han Liao like Lu Zhuo also came from military family. So the setting right now is at the capital and about household stuff so we can see more women while the men are busy in the military though they just won a war so the 3 young military men are currently in the capital. Actually there's also a 4th military young guy Li.

In the novel he dislikes WR coz she's not like the traditional boudoir ladies, she rides horses in male disguise, unrestrained, wears too much makeup, her mom remarried etc. but in the drama the evil WR is arrogant and has truly hurt people. So rather than a ML disliking her due to her not being his ideal virtuous type of woman, it's more valid that he hates her for being evil.

I guess it's to justify ML's hate/dislike for the evil Wei Rao before he meets the good Wei Rao.

Tang Che (young and old) has few scenes but they are impactful. His love for Rong Yu is so touching.

I also lughed so much at those parodies of Meteor Garden (TW) and What a Good Girl with elderlies.

In the novel, there is only Wei Rao, the wealthy foxy beauty FL who marries the comatose ML (after he got injured) to ward off misfortune. The ML wakes up soon after they got married but ML was unhappy coz he has prejudice against the FL while the FL only wants protection from ML's family. Since they kinda hate each other, they agreed to a 5 year contract marriage but only few knows so they act all lovey dovey in front of others. Of course they fell in love in the end. In the drama, the FL seems to be Jun Dai/A Chou who will impersonate/take Wei Rao's place to marry the ML. I guess she has to evade ML and his family's suspicion of her identity and fight Wei Rao who is unhappy that she took her place.
