I held off watching this drama even though Bai Lu is one of my favorite actresses because I'm picky and previously dropped 2 other highly hated dramas in the same genre that depicted slice of life and slow burn romance such as Meet Yourself. But after reading the comments, I decided to give it a try and it exceeded my expectations. I felt this drama should've rated higher because it's a masterpiece as a heartwarming drama with great storytelling and well developed characters that were authentic and imperfect. This was the first drama I've watched with the Male lead actor and found him to be a very good actor. Besides that, it had one of the best ensemble cast acting which delivered the most perfect dialogue. Every episode was compelling and worth watching.
I'm just not convinved by nearly 30-somethings playing highschoolers, and it can really be felt. The forced sense…
I agree. They looked too old to be highschoolers, but then, we have to ask the question of are there enpugh young talented actors who could carry the weight of those roles.
OMG, what's with all the bad comments. I was going to watch it for Chen Feiyu, but after reading all the terrible comments, I'll probably have to pass which is a bummer.
This was a good watch. It's my 1st time seeing Jeremy in a modern rom-com, quite different from the historical dramas he usually appeared in with similar characters. Also 1st time seeing the FL and she was convincing as his love interest because of her solid acting and their good chemistry. In this drama, you could see his acting range with the micro-exptessions, the emotions expressed in his eyes as he convincingly portrayed 2 characters. The writing and dialogue were funny and creative when he lost his memory. Additionally, when he mentored Ming Wei and gave her acting tips, you get insight on what it takes to bring a character to life. This makes you appreciate an actor's talent and dedication to their craft because of how they fully analyze, understand and live through their characters in order to give a realistic portrayal.
I think the rating for this drama is fair enough. It's not everyone's cup of tea. The first 20 episodes kind of dragged and I kept fast fwding because the plot kept repeating itself with him going off to find the ingredients, coming back injured and her treating him. That aside, the acting, chemistry, martial arts, cinematography, aesthetic visuals was very good. Although the main leads seemed to accept their unspoken love for one another, it's not enough to satisfy viewers who would want more. All those times they spent alone in 8 years, whether it was drinking or walking together, they couldn't express their true feelings for each other? Give me a break, she only said, "I miss you", to herself when she was alone and he only said, "I keep thinking of you" when he was alone? What? Are you serious? This bothered me more than the ending.
You're so right. I understand she wasn't feeling well at the time and she has insecurities, but she didn't even…
Wrong, she did apologize after the fainting episode. She explained it was her first time being intimate with a man and she was insecure because no man had ever seen her amputated leg.
I really enjoyed everything about this drama from the storytelling, character, chemistry, cinematography, and OST. It touches on topics that cdramas rarely touch on such as death and disability. But beyond that it also delves into romantic relationship, friendship, family relationship, personal choices, insecurities and resentment. The length is just right for me to binge watch it in 2 days, which also proves that great dramas don't have to be 40-50 episodes.
I'm on ep 5 and I really need someone to spoil it for me. Will Tang Qi ever know the truth about Su Cheng Cheng and Su Miao or the fact that she can change her appearance?
This has become my favorite romance Cdrama. I'm thankful to the person who recommended it. I binge watched it in 2 days., although I did skip the parts with the mother since I was only interested in the main couple. This was also my first time seeing the ML actor and he's the hottest green flag character I've ever seen. This was a beautiful drama that for once I wished had more episodes. The cinematography, OST, casting, location shooting was just perfect. Although I found the FL's acting to be lacking emotional depth. Don't get me wrong, she did a good job, but in emotionally wrenching scenes, you saw very little real tears flowing from her eyes.
Finished this with much fast forwarding. Even though the acting was good, it got boring in the middle. I found the FL character slightly annoying. I mean what was she good at besides eating. She got played by the 4th sister-in-law and had to be rescued by her husband while he was sick and carrying out an important relief mission. I feel this drama was overrated.
shall i start this ...? any suggestion or advice..?
I had same reservations because it was over 50 episodes but others said it was worthwhile. I decided to give it a try since I like both of the main leads. Watched up to episode 15 so far and I like it. But I also ffwd scenes that didn't have the main actors. You can always start then drop it later.
Every episode was compelling and worth watching.
