Honestly they could have just left out the resurrection part. I think the story would have been just as good if not better. From supernatural to revenge just makes it weird. Definitely surprised at the quality, was better than expected for the most part except the resurrection part haha.

Such a shame that this show is wayyyyy to fast paced. Read a comment below that the main story is 30 episodes. Makes sense why it feels fast. Really like the updated visuals, but pacing is so poor that it ruins the show.

I know everyone has their own opinions. But meh personally the plot is terrible. These flashbacks make the story even more jarring. Furthermore they making me not care about the main characters either....

This is a very well written review. Props to you. It's very detailed on multiple levels, while also not giving away too much to spoilers. I like your review in the sense that I'm one of those who aren't currently too big of a fan of the show. I'm not a fan of slice of life shows/shows with a slow pace. It's very easy to include what you like about the show. It's another to speak about how another person may dislike it. I'm currently on ep 8 and the show is kind of meh. I'm going to keep watching in hopes that I don't get bored before the romances happens! An 8.9 on MDL has to mean something, plus I want to see what this realistic romance is about ahahah.

Meh. 1st season was way way better. Battles where better, story was better, characters where better. In fact I'd argue 1st season was underrated. This was meh..... Dropped at ep 22.

Probably would have been better as a 10 ep show. Show really really really started to drag...............

Meh not a fan of this show. Too many flashbacks to help explain present events. Also wayyyyy too much backstabbing. Can't tell who's on who's side because the sides switch like every episodes. I can see why this show has an 8.0 ranking....

This one isn't even annoying. It's terrible. I don't even know how it has a 8.7. I've been bored ever since he left his home at like ep 14 to 24 or something. Joy of Life is 10x better than this show...

Tons of shows in the wuxia genre are basically like this with the good luck.

I'd put it at the best of all time as well. I've spent hundreds and thousands of hours watching this show. This show is a masterpiece in terms of dramas/Chinese dramas.

Ugh I should have read this comment before starting the show. I pretty much agree with what everyone else is saying. The first half is great. I'd probably give it an 8 or 8.5. But man, once it hits the second half, this show took a nosedive. I'm on ep 23 right now and I'm bored out of my mind. I want to skip to the end, but it has been a habit of mine to not skip episodes, especially one where I'm halfway through. Ugh what to do...

Not to mention the fact that it's basically a love square. 3 guys fighting over the MC doesn't exactly make for an interesting movie.

Meh I think the movie deserved the score it got on MDL. The first half/two third of the movie is very confusing because of the the jump between china and paris.

Definitely. I thought the first half was a lot funnier. I barely laugh/found anything funny during the second half. A lot of it was cringe worthy as you mentioned. too.

Well he was an up and rising actor. His acting career is probably over now. I know that drinking alcohol is part of Korean culture. However, let's be honest, the risks far outweigh the reward. Just don't drink folks, if you do drink responsibly...

Can anyone convince me on why I should keep watching this show? I just finished ep2 and I'm bored out of my mind. It seems really slow as others have mentioned it. Does it get any better/quicker by ep10?
