I saw it on weibo. Idk how to upload and make link. Download weibo app, put "黄志忠 张忠坚 梁园" on search box. Then go to the latest tab and see the first post. There you will see, she also reomved the name of actor who played as Li Baizhou

I can accept her speaking out her initial direction. But not thanking HZZ alone is not very good. She also removed HZZ name on her novel cover where the name of the main actors are displayed.

She shouldn't adapt her story into series at all if she doesn't want her story "deviate" from her original meaning. Even as readers, different readers understand the story differently. If she wants to blame someone for her show's failure compared to Joy of Life, she should blame herself. Her story itself is a bit dry. Actors and directors make the story and characters more interesting. If not for actors and beautiful cinematography, I would not watch.

Exactly. I understand she is not satisfied becuase her character is ruined. But if Huang zhizhong act like the way she wants, audience scope of the show will become a lot smaller. HZZ elevated the commercial value of the show and audience satisfaction. If not for emperor, i already drop this show. I also wonder why she is blaming on him. As a screenwriter, I believe she has had discussion with director and actors. There is no way for misinterpretation if she communicated clearly. How can HZZ act in wrong direction if director did not pass him. This means director also did not understand what she wants. Her communication fails as a screen writer and now she's blaming on actor.

Oh, yesterday, author and screen writer of this show posted abt emperor's pov on weibo. According to her, emperor doesn't love cp at all. Li baizhou case and teaching cp to make tea, is completely using cp. She thanks every acting crew by name except Huang Zhizhong. She publicly showed her disappointment with him becuase of his misinterpretation on the character. She wrote emperor character is not supposed to get audience love.
Royal Nirvana is the best drama so far for me, the story line is different, yes, it is a tragic story ... I watch…
If I were the female lead, I would just spend my time in Changzhou, pass my day peacefully with my little brother, the marry a good ordinary man after this. Now, FL is creating her life more and more tragic.
Well after the pavilion scene they flashed two words that says the end so I assume the drama officially ends there.…
I already know the plot from the start but I just couldn't stop watching RN. I am totally hooked by it although it is mentally torturing. After the last episode, I regret I should have stopped earlier but just can't stop and still stalking its news on weibo, hoping that the remaining episodes will be aired soon. My attitude towards RN is like the crown prince hoping for his father's love [sigh] Joy of Life is the first seasons, it still have other two seasons. The first season is just the underlying story for more complicated ones in remaining seasons. Now, I have lost courage to start costume dramas thanks to RN. Well done, RN. :(

Thanks for the recommendation. I skimmed through ROP. I didn't watch all. ROP and RN are quite similar, ROP male lead is a lot stronger. I found ROP more content heavy than RN but RN is more mentally torturing. I recommend Story of Minglan if you haven't tried. :)

The ending is the combination of good scenes from the last 12 episodes Actually, the story continues to be tragic even after prince qi has gone. In the leaked trailer, when cp heard abt uncle Gu's death, he told to emperor "Congratulations your majesty, now you have no minister and no general in the court, no wife and no child in the family. May you live long at the heavenly palace in solitude" (this scene was cut just to make happy ending. Cp said this because 5th prince and empress zhao are possibly dead). If you look at the details carefully, the ending is bad ending. Father-son relationship continues to be tragic. Remember the part where emperor taught cp how to make tea? Cp threw the tea away when emperor told him to wear handcuff and go to his uncle's house barefoot. In the last episode, when cp left to meet gu feng'en, the troop following cp is emperor's troop instead of cp's personal troop. It means emperor already abolished cp's personal troop and made his men surround cp. And Gu feng'en expression in last scene was quite hostile. The leaked ones also show cp and gu feng'en quarreled and cp was punched by him. The war (possibly rebellion) started in that place. These means directors have filmed according the novel, they just don't release them (maybe because of censor or not courageous enough to continue the story). I don't even feel a touch of happiness in this so called "happy ending"
What was the catalyst for Gu turning against the emperor? Was it because the empress died under suspicious circumstances…
I think emperor and gu don't have mutual trust anymore. That'why gu is prolonging the war because he is afraid his family would be killed when the country doesn't have any war. Horse scandal might be the reason behind because he led the army dutifully before his son's death. His planning seems to start after this. Plus, Gu feng'en accidently leaked to li min'an abt general yang let the enemy go on purpose. So, he started before emperor could start
It could have been even sadder but they cut the scene short. We never got to see how or why the Emperor fainted.
Yes, I want to see more of father and son scene and less of cp and wenxi scene. Video cutters should know what is the main theme of this drama. Those who want sweet romance already abandoned this drama from the start. We remain because we want to watch father-son relationship.
Its getting a bit repetitive the mulish stupidity of CP and the abusive frustration of emperor. The writing is…
@Poohbearies This case is not done by emperor but cp thinks emperor did it just to bring his uncle down. His suspicion towards his father makes his father angry and sad. During the family dinner, emperor asks 1st prince and 5th prince whether they have heard of this song. Among the princes, Cp is the only one not being asked. It means emperor trust him but he does not trust emperor. Just before the beating, Emperor is almost crying because of cp's words. Most importantly, it is a very serious crime. When 1st prince makes conversation with Zhang luzhang, 1st prince reveals that this crime is punishable by beaten to death. Chen, the old servant of the emperor also said, the punishment cp receive is already a blessing. I don't know abt the tv series. Those who have read original novel said 1st layer of case: By Chance, Prince Qi knows this song is spreading among folks, so he finds chance to sing in front of the emperor to frame cp. 2nd layer: Empress Zhao knows prince qi is going to do this. She also know how cp and emperor will respond. So, she starts 'sing or drink' game. She plans Consort Song to learn this song on her way back from the temple. 3rd layer: This song is really spread by Gu Silin to make father-son relationship worse. Gu Silin knows how cp and emperor will respond. If his plan succeeds, emperor will call him and Gu feng'en back from the frontier which make the war worse, country will be more destabilize. Cp will also be punished by emperor in various ways and cp will start hating his father. At that time, he would overthrow the emperor and make cp the new emperor. The meaning of the song: most ppl only know just half of it, even prince qi and consort zhao do not know very much. They only know this song is offensive the the emperor because emperor gets the throne with the help of Gu Silin. But the meaning of another half is about the extramarital affair of Empress Gu (cp's mother). This is the reason why emperor doesn't ask cp whether he has heard of this song. It concerns with cp's mother's reputation. That's why emperor said "You ask me justice for such kind of case" and he's almost crying. As for cp, he worries abt his uncle. His uncle is actually the one plotting to overthrow his father. His uncle is stronger than him and have military power. Cp's protection is really unnecessary. Why he never takes the view from his father's point?
