Sweet drama with no melodramatic scenes and in-law problem

This drama is really cheesy type. The acting and cast is superb. The music seems to be sweet (I don't really understand the OST lyrics as there are no eng subs for them). If you're searching for "no melodramatic rom-com" with "no -in laws problem" then this is indeed worth watching. Their love progress is not very slow but not too quick. It developed as they lived under the same roof (in hospital, his family house and then his house). Their chemistry is toooo sweet to handle. The amazing part is when the Jinbei chases Shiyun and how the romantic moment progress graph goes to 100 and suddenly drops to zero with a joke in the beginning episodes. Ryan perfectly carved the personality of Zhou Shiyun, a cold man with warm heart whereas Yuxi's cute act is irrestible. Whenever a drama have 24 episodes, the leads confess and start dating by 16 but in this drama they start official dating in 10 only. Their kisses are indeed extremely steamy and we can hardly distinguish which one was the best but the most emotional one is in 15, "The Mud Kiss" and there's a "coffee bean shower" instead of flower shower.

Beautiful and heart wrenching, pure love.

The shooting quality of this drama is excellent. I liked how the main characters always had a sun-kissed, soft natural glow for most of the screen-time.

Characters -
Hou Chengyue's character is perseverant, tender, helpless and reluctant. Ke Chun also expresses the ruffianism and affectionate determination of the male protagonist very well. The emotions were portrayed perfectly. I cried buckets. I wish they hugged each other more often.

They both are well suited (appearance wise) to play the high school teen character.

Ending -
FL have stomach cancer. There are two endings, a sad and a happy one. It's your choice which one you choose to believe. Ofcourse the sad one is realistic. The happy one is a fairytale ending.

Alternatively, on sport day, FL said she have congenital heart disease. So you can assume that to be true and thus she came back to ML after leap in the end.

Breakthrough stereotypical Icey-Cold/Playboy CEO's and stupid female lead

No heavy melodrama, sweet chemistry, no cold shoulder drama between the main leads, Love at first sight, big bunch of comedy, adorable & warm ml, matured fl are the special features of this drama. Its a worth watch because the story flow is smooth and the editing is awesome. Their main plot is business but you will never feel that the story lacks chemistry or comdey.

The most fantastic thing about this drama is both leads. He is the dream guy or Mr.Perfect, smart, warm and cute!!! This is Lu Yong Zhuo's (ml) 1st drama and his acting is superb! He doesn't look like a 23yr old newbie at all! The female lead is a matured woman who is confident in herself, trust the ml, smart and have her own dream.

There are three main songs (beside opening theme) and they'll hook you up with their sweetness.

Sassy FL in a hot mess.

10/10 for FL
10/10 for chemistry
5/10 for half-baked, immature, weak ML
2.5/10 for indecisive scumbag SML

I felt like FL's dialogues and the overall script + SML character + ML character are written by 2 different people.

I absolutely loved how bold, strong and independent FL is, both by words and actions. She has trauma but is not beaten down by it. She is shown to take pills for depression and anxiety, shaky hands but she beats anyone who blames her for being SA. She doesn't take anyone's crap (except ML's grandma).

For someone like that, a more complementary ML character, who is not necessarily a rich, domineering CEO / prince of some conglomerate but stable and mature is needed.

But the ML here lacks a backbone. He's the kind of person she needs to babysit. Moreover, his feelings rooted to gratitude.

The poorly written ML character didn't compliment her. Especially from the moment he was recognised by Ruan family.

Since he's the only male to continue Ruan family line, whether it's now or 5yrs ago, he is fully capable of taking a stand for himself and her. Moreover, he doesn't believe in his own ability to build himself from scratch? How did he plan to make her happy in long-term if he wasn't from Ruan family? Relying on face and body. LoL!

He could persist through poverty but can't resist his suddenly found relative. He didn't even realise his newly found grandma is stepping on FL's trauma.

Even his friend pointed out, if he wants to develop, why go abroad? Why leave her alone to suffer, to deal with shit?

He didn't know she has a son and is being ridiculed by everyone. He brought her house, knew she is bankrupt but didn't realise she must be having hard time without anyone on her side. He didn't even bother to tell her he brought the house and that she can continue to live there. He didn't ask anyone to check on her for entire 5 yrs.

Glad she didn't take him in immediately after coming back (well she did but she didn't, iykyk) He really planned to win her just by showing fireflies in the place where she picked him up 5 yrs ago.

But as expected, it's a stereotypical c-drama, her kid wants the biological father, coz he's handsome & gentle/kind, definitely takes after the mother.

The scriptwriter, as usual, used the troupe of evil half-sister, unreasonable parents of FL, pregnancy out-off wedlock, child asking for father, FL being accepted by grandma for the kid. DÃMÑ the person who ruined it all for me.

The FL is amazing and she needed someone who can bring her comfort and healing. But the ML character here only seems to bring her more responsibilities and trouble.

One tiny plus is, her half-sister and ML's fiance were kicked into the prison.

Title should be 'Crush on My Ex-Wife'

It was arranged marriage but she liked him earlier. Then he kind of took her feelings and kindness for granted. He didn't hurt her but her feelings were not reciprocated until she signed divorce papers. Then he started to realize her importance in his life. Then we've his family & 3rd person melodrama.

This drama haven't been subbed yet. So, I did not understand why the fuck he had to go through official divorce procedure and leave her. If I'm not wrong, his assistant said, it's to protect her but he clearly knew she's pregnant with his child and he still divorced her. Plus, her reputation was ruined by a bitch and she didn't have a job at that time.

Then he was enlightened after his mom planned his engagement and decided to put on act with FL.

The plot elements are taken from Ke Chun's 'Save Myself' but with a touch of Republic era.

I rarely write reviews for vertical short dramas and this one is definitely worth it.

FL hooked up ML, not with a painting but gun, his own dialogue ("really troublesome") and throwing dead body of assassins in the banquet hall. That whole scene looked cool. She's a badass from start until revenge completion.

What I liked the most in this version is :-
1. FL was using ML, he knew that from beginning.

2. He repeatedly admitted "being her sword" and asked her, "what do you want me to do". He arranged a birthday party for himself without her instruction just to set up the stage for her.

3. He was laid back but always on feet to help her. She calls, he's there.

4. He asked if he could propose marriage, she agreed. He once again said 'give me 1 month' but he didn't disappear at any point during this one month (for his family matters)

5. She used him but LOVED him too and expressed that sufficiently.

6. They share plenty of screentime together for things other than revenge stage.

7. The kiss under the wedding veil, I was screaming.

What could have been better :-
1. After revenge completion, she had short duration of collapsing which could have been more well developed.

2. Drama is of about 3 hours and they could definitely stretch the ending after revenge, giving time for healing FL, their marriage, meeting his family.

3. That one-eye blind guy should have been put behind well guarded, completely inaccessible prison or rather, sentenced to death for being a traitor, abusing many females, etc. But FL's crippled sister easily located and rescued him is ridiculous. That seemed unnecessary arc.

I would definitely re-watch many of the scenes.

Shittiest and illogical plot, turn your brain off and watch it for the main cp

I wish I could give a zero for minus rating for the story. It started as very good one but just around episode 8-9, it feels like they changed the scriptwriter midway through coz why did the ML become so stupid??? Shittiest plot development and in they end, they said 'we are a family'. Like why the whole struggle of ages if you don't intend to punish the murder?
I couldn't help but point out so many flaws, especially when ML's friend used to follow villains and keep watch on them.
However, I love the 'main cp' and OST. This is the only plus point to this drama. I skipped scenes too often and just watched them. They have good chemistry but then again, the scriptwriter have to fvck up again so he added poor communication (ep 13-15 If I am not wrong and around 20th episode)

Love and Sacrifice TT

Since leads come from different race & she have terminal illness, this was bound to hv many sad scenes. The ending didn't really made me happy but it fits the plot. I cried while watching this.

Main couple have sweet chemistry. I won't spoil about the sacrifice.

There are two antagonist, FL's step sister and ML's friend. However, ML's friend seem a bit too much but is quite reasonable. Her sister is annoying and turns into a paranoid at end.

The male lead Zhang Fei Fei stole my heart in a little over 100 minutes. I was invested at the moment he entered the screen. Striking appearance, beautiful smile! Must admit, he's hot and I'd like to see him in main cast of full length drama

Cliche melodrama, watch for ML & kid

I have read the novel and was curious about how worst the "Modified" drama story can be.
It's like disappointed but not surprised.

The modification I didn't like :-
Male lead's personality at start. In novel, he's a family man with "Sweet affectionate behaviour" In drama, he is a purely business minded, analytical.

The good modification :-
Their first kiss and first night. In novel, xiao bao gave medicine/drug to yue yue and both fl and ml hv spend the night together. In the drama, they do have very close scenes but he didn't really kiss female lead until confession.

I don't knew both actors before this drama but I must admit they both are very good actors. Miles (male lead) managed to portray both analytical and sweet personality very well. I really love his facial expressions. They both have sung the ost and their voice is captivating.

However, in many scenes, the music is removed on YouTube. You can see the chinese lyrics but there's no audio. The same problem is there in extra story too.

First 17 chapters kept getting on my nerves but the only reason to watch is the Cute Kid and 2nd Female Lead. Her character and personality is perfect! The cat music for kid makes his interactions cutest.

In first 17 episodes, its just contractual relationship, too many bickerings and ofcourse the annoying fiancee & aunt. Like why the fvck his aunt have to force ml for business marriage

From 18th chapter (from her confession onwards) the story becomes a bit good/bearable because of the romantic scenes. Also the part where she broke up with him is good to watch because of the coaxing scenes.

From 20/21 episode, they try to justify the annoying ex and aunt & put all the blame on a 3rd party (which disturbed me more) I honestly thought the one behind accident is aunt.
