As a fellow fan I can understand your frustration. From some years reba has started to change her path and almost stopped doing things that used to push her into limelight and types of dramas that used to attract huge fan followings. But you see reba has been an A lister for a long time now and she or anyone in her place can't keep doing the same things.
As a fellow fan I would suggest you to be happy as reba has already proven herself, she doesn't need high no. Of people discussing about her to prove her worth. You have already seen her in her being most popular era , be happy with that. No one remains most popular forever, today X is popular tomorrow Y will be popular. I would suggest just enjoy your time here and watch the dramas you like 😉 Also I think you will like "love beyond the grave" , as initial reviews suggest it follows the novel closely 😊.

In 90s I would include bailu too. She is also progressing very fast, like yuzheng is notorious guy but he definitely has very good resources and knows how to utilise his artists and their talent. Also I think if Yuan bing yan was still working she also had good scope. I haven't seen any work of zhen shuang but these days I keep seeing several people trashing her acting from her past works, as she was one of the "4 dan actresses" in 90s line, she definitely had very good resources earlier. But at the end being a good human was more important than having good resources and her career suffered.
Looking at all these things reba really have come a long way. I think somewhat it was kind of good for her to join jaywalk early in her career (from some interview I have read she was selected by yangmi herself) As she got the initial support of yang mi plus she was always a hardworking person and had the qualities of becoming a star. But now reba should leave jaywalk as they have been restricting her for a long time now.

Agree, I think she don't always want the huge attention that she usually gets whenever she appears on red carpet or any award show. This attention more solidifies her goddess like image and what I guess this plays a big role interfering with her getting serious non idol projects. Like she struggled so much to get herself non idol dramas ( because of her agency as well as her looks and general public image) And finally with the success of sword rose (despite it being a small project) she has started a new journey. Just look at her recent drama choices, other than 'love beyond the grave" each one of them is out of the box kind of projects, types she didn't used to do before.
Anyways I am still happy that we are atleast getting her to see in cctv gala.
