Yes, I have noticed that. Each to their own. It just doesn't work for me. I don't need a series to have lots of sex scenes (if any), but I can't deal with the over the top cringey stuff in P10liners. Also, it perpetuate a line of thinking that gay men are caricatures without any sexual desires. It's the old trope of "it's fine to be gay as long as you're not really being gay". I don't mind We Are as much though, it's not as bad as P10liners.

Yeah I get that, and it's one of the reasons I watch them as well. Historically, lgbt storylines have had unhappy or tragic endings because the straight world could not deal with a happy lgbt storyline (because after all you can only be happy if you're straight - preferably CIS!). That being said, there are plenty of older BLS with the same problem - it's only really in recent years this trend has (thankfully!) changed. I have had straight stories shoved down my throat for years, so I have made it my mission to read/watch as many gay stories as I can to make up for lost time!

I tried watching Never Let me Go and dropped it after 3 episodes. The whole master-servant thing between Phuwin and Pond really put me off. And considering their real life backgrounds it made it even worse somehow. I think never let me go was his attempt at something Aof'esque and it didn't work. Warp Effect is very good although not a BL per se, and Three Will Be Free is good - again, not a BL but in my view quite underrated. It does have Tay as a hot cute gay nerd which is always a plus❤️

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. Some of these actors are given way too many free passes. These performances would not really wash here, but they seem acceptable to audiences in Thailand. I honestly cringe every time I see those awkward kisses and have to skip ahead... How anyone can watch them is beyond me.

I don't personally rank them against each other as I think that's unfair. They're too different in what they create. I expect one thing from Aof and something else from JoJo.

Yes, but that comes from confidence, skill, being comfortable with the topic and the scenes.

It's not about whether one culture is better than the other, they're just different - which is why some stuff from Asia works in Europe (or not) and vice versa. I think for us (in Europe) acting in a way that doesn't come across as genuine is a turn-off, but it might be fine in Thailand. It's just how it is.
