Yes, I have noticed that. I always wondered why We Are or Perfect 10 liners are so popular - not to mention 2gether! It's just bland nonsense as far as I'm concerned. Everything is so cheesy, corny and cringey! Zero emotion in anything.

I wasn't saying you were comparing, I was referring to people in general comparing. And I agree - JoJo deserves more recognition, however, I think the reason why he doesn't get as much recognition is that his style of directing and his stories are not always "aligned" with what is deemed as "acceptable and/or appropriate" in SE Asia.

Both are good but they are different types of directors with different styles. People need to stop comparing apples and pears. I prefere JoJo's style, it is more gritty, sexy, dark and tongue in cheek - which does not surprise me considering some of the stuff he seems to enjoy watching (like the UK show fleabag). I think this may be one of the reason why his shows seem to do better over here than others. And not all of the stuff Aof does is good... People praise Midnight Chicken like it some kind of masterpiece... Really?? The storyline is all over the place and way too overengineered. A fiery boat accident? Seriously? Come on.

Why do people rate if they haven't watched the whole thing? Never makes sense to me. MDL need to change that setting.

Now I understand what Tay meant when he said they have a hard time cracking the European market - only friends being one of few exceptions. Also explains why First seems more popular in the West and latin America. Oh I have so many opinions on this I don’t even know where to begin! This incessant desexualisation of gay men by BL “fans” (and creators) really, really bugs me and I have had so many arguments on these boards over this. It is deeply rooted in homophobia and discomfort of gay men having an intimate relationship and bothers me to no end. I suspect it bothers JoJo as well which is why he has reacted. Gay men are real people, they are not caricatures or dolls. We (gay men) have sex with other men we find attractive! If you are not comfortable with that fact then you have unresolved issues with homosexuality. Stop desexualising us and making us dolls for you to play kissy with!

I have long since given up on ratings on this website when it comes to BL shows 😂you’re actually better off reading comments and reviews (but avoid any reviews that give a series 10/10 or even 9/10). I mean, 2gether has something like 7.8??!! 😳 that absolute pile of rubbish of a show!

Indeed. I don't need every series to be a masterpiece, but for cryin' out loud at least try and put some effort into making it decent!

Came late into the game on this one but I think this is my favourite BL so far. Very good writing, acting and directing. One of GMMTVs gems, and Sea does a wonderful job. A special shout out to Namtan as well who is really good in this. My only slight gripe is the ending. I felt it was a little bit rushed, like they tried to wrap everything up in 2 episodes and it lost some of its magic. I wish they had added another 2 episodes (total 14 instead of 12) episodes to do it justice but overall very good drama - and so far the only BL to actually make me feel emotional!

This is pretty good! Current rating of 8.6 feels a bit too high for me, but certainly up there around 7.5.

I have no idea who Toxic Milly is, but she sounds like a hoot!
