I dropped it after trying to digest the very convoluted episode 1. A few months later I accidentally watched episode 2 and got hooked. It takes a few episodes for the characters to gain any depth but once they do it becomes a very watchable story.
I also appreciated that it spent more time than most to wrap up all the various subplots in the end.
Could we please just have ONE drama where someone doesn't come down with amnesia? Just ONCE PLEASE FOR FRICKS…
OK fine. But man this a textbook case in how to ruin a drama. 12 fantastic and original episodes followed by four pointless hours of every drama cliche that destroyed all momentum, forgot what the show was about and even bored the actors. Then a decent ending episode. Too bad, this could have been great.
I watched the first episode yesterday and I was kind of disappointed and am wondering if I should carry on watching.…
Made it to episode 5 and, if anything, it gets worse. The guy continues to act like a complete sociopath and the girls (even the 500-year-old one) who somehow find this scumbag irresistible are all portrayed as too dumb to figure out that everything he says is a transparent, self-serving lie.
I loved the show's premise, so I had high hopes it would get better but, ugh... Dropped.
The female lead's intuition and ability to see through people somehow vanishes before the end of the second episode after which she continually falls for every transparent deception that the dumb men throw at her. It wasn't very interesting to me after that. Instead of psychic vs. psychiatrist, it turned into just another manipulated woman vs. emotionless man drama. Annoying
The cover art and categorization as a "comedy" are very misleading. This is a straight-up drama that disguises itself at first. It takes a couple episodes to see the whole scope of it, but it turns into a very moving story (with bonus lessons in study techniques if you need them).
I will never look at a cafe latte the same way again.
Fans of dark comedy will love this series. It's brilliant in how it doesn't let anyone (the man OR the women) off the hook. And last two episodes are just pure comedy gold.
Honestly I was expecting so much better, but the drama played up too many cliches that I have really grown tired…
This one was worse than most clichéd romances for me.
"I will support her dream by emotionally destroying her and then telling her she sucks as a chef. That is sure to motivate her to pursue a career as a patisserie in a foreign country where she has no friends or support structure!"
How does that even make any sense?
Oh, right. Telling her you love her and you think she should go to NY and will support her no matter how far away she is doesn't allow for the last minute sprint to the airport that is REQUIRED BY LAW in every J-dorama romance.
This is about three men with zero capacity for honesty who manipulate and emotionally abuse those around them including the weak-willed protagonist who instinctively blames herself for being their victim. It should be more tragedy than comedy, but this drama is not that smart. The plot twists are painfully dumb (special kind of blood?), the dialogue is shallow with no persistent theme or image, and the overacting of the supporting cast helps give the whole thing a feeling of cliché.
The male lead must be really handsome since he has no personality, confidence or ambition. I'm really not sure why multiple women would fall in love with him.
