right?! i was shocked that people are complaining about comedy in Joy of Life of all dramas. and some people are saying that characters like the crown prince and emperor are acting differently than first season...like that's because that was just an introduction. we didn't fully see the personalities of these characters in first season and we don't know the crown prince and the emperor even now because isn't that the point of a drama that has conspiracy, secrets and scheming. If we already knew each character entirely, their intentions and motivations, reason why they behave a certain way, then wouldn't the drama become boring

JOL is like a thousand leagues above the trashy dramas that come out these days. people complaining about this and that are just nitpicking anything to hate about the drama. the second season is going great and it's exciting to see where the story goes✨✨

saw some comments saying that this season is not as serious as the first one and it has too much comedy...what about the vegetable seller Jin who was murdered, a brothel forcing women into prostitution, the brothel cleaning the blood of the old man they murdered in cold blood, yuan meng saying that now that one of the girl's father is dead there will be no more distractions, the crown prince ordering to kill his innocent guards, a palace eunuch extorting money from the poor, massacre of a whole town by burning it to cover up the smuggling case? with all this going on, i actually appreciate the humor and jokes. people have different tastes and that's fine but Joy of Life has always been a mix of comedy and sadness. Comedy is literally written in the genre in the description.

ah getting spoilers is the worst 💀. no wonder you didn't finish it. and yeah watching dramas that intrigue oneself is the best way to watch dramas. like this kdrama vincenzo that totally blew up few years ago but i just couldn't get through it so of course it depends a lot on personal taste and interests.

the dialogues are just so delicious in NiF. the characters would be sitting in a room, talking, and plot would be moving forward. the words are all the action of NiF. it is a must watch for sure. i am waiting for the 3rd season as well🤞

the comparatively lower rating maybe because of the fact that NiF came out in 2015 so a lot of newer drama fans don't know about it and haven't watched it. also, it maybe hard to get into because a lot happens right from the beginning with prince yu going to langya hall and there's a lot of info to take in. but damn it's so good and so easy to get into once you see mei changsu creating problems for everyone 😌

Nirvana in fire is hard to beat. it's the pinnacle of c-dramaland for me✨

I wonder if they will show us what FX and the emperor talked about before coming to eat lunch with the princes. whether they discussed something together or was it just killing time, so that they can pretend that FX was being punished for lying. Also, FX had told the emperor about the smuggling thing when he snuck into the palace to meet him. the emperor didn't say anything then. is it because the emperor knows about the smuggling or was my guy just sulking so bad that he didn't care about such an important matter😂😂

exactly! he isn't the benevolent and upright guy he pretends to be. didn't even bat an eye while ordering to kill those innocent guards who were just doing their job. it kind of hinted that crown prince and the second prince are similar to each other in a way that they do not value people's lives if they can get to their goal and this is where fan xian draws line. by the way, nie huisang is from a c-drama called 'the untamed', he also pretended to a fool and scaredy cat when he actually was not.

me neither. the more crown prince acts innocent the more i doubt him. remember how nie huisang acted like a fool who didn't know anything but turned out to be the mastermind behind jin guangyao's downfall. i think crown prince is a character like that👀

are you planning to watch season 2? because if yes, you should watch season 1 because season 2 is the continuation of the plot that happened in season 1. as to why everyone is concerned over fan xian would be spoiler territory because fx's identity is a huge plot of the story.

i would give it a 10/10. it's going great so far and is perfectly aligned with the first season. loved the ending song by zhou shen. i do like the opening song of first season better compared to the new opening song :) I also think the new yan bingyun is doing a good job. if they keep it up like this then i believe it will be another 10/10 season just like the first one!
