LMC in modern day would have been a headache for the politicians as well 😂 because he is inflexible and uncompromising, a servant of law in its truest form. i say good for him for standing up for what he believed in till his last breath. but did he deserve to die for speaking up, not reading the room though? i don't think so but, just like you said, the emperor's word is precedent over everything else.
I think that's where Fan Xian would be headed now, a different path, just like his mother and LMC, without falling into death's hands and ultimately establishing a system in Qing where people are not sentenced to death for speaking truth.
I mean that's her character all along, naively direct martial artist. Although the S2 actress make her looks more…
ready to see her character development because if she's gonna get married to chengze, being gullible would be dangerous for her and people around her 👀 also, really not liking the new actress' portrayal of ling er
To all the people who were like it's all comedy comedy comedy- "where's the serious vibe of JoL1"WHERE ARE YOU…
its the good ol' 'be careful what you wish for'. Poor Lai Ming Cheng😔 "The emperor's thoughts are deep" "The emperor's intentions are unfathomable" oh please, he just wants to keep people under his control, those who resist are killed, that's it.
"Look into my eyes, I'm telling the truth" "I swear upon my royal dignity" These are the first two tactics taught in How to Lie for Dummies, ain't no one falling for that. If Ye Ling er does fall for this, then girly has a long way to go.
As I am reading Chapter 264 of the novel again, here is part of the novel that you described in your quotes above.Grinning,…
"malice behind his smile" YES YES YES, I feel it in this season as well that when he is making jokes or laughing, or looks composed, his cunning mind is running idk how many miles an hour cooking up schemes way out of my understanding level 😂 Like that whole conversation with Chancellor Lin "what if I use Da Bao someday" and him quickly strategizing to give chengze a taste of his own medicine, right after he meets the three murderers in the first bureau. Like Thank God that Fan Xian has a conscience and is a good person by nature or else he would be a walking, talking nuclear bomb, unbeatable and evilest of all.
avenue X often reviews as if she is an expert, much better than the layman. She needs to get off her high horse…
well she is just stating her opinion and we do not obviously have to agree with her though about the production quality aspect usually I feel the same as her because dramas these days do be whitewashing and smoothing out the actors too much and the camera angles sometimes are so wack.
But I firmly disagree with her if she does not like JOL2. JOL2 is awesome!
There are many times when she criticizes dramas that I love and praises the dramas that I hate and that's fine, she's just a fellow fangirly like us sharing her opinions.
Ep 14: when they were revealing who was the one who protected Fan Sizhe... I'm sorry Duo Duo, but i was really…
same! I was saying out loud "ITS WUZHU!" i was so excited but then it turned out to be duoduo whom I was happy to see, but if it was actually wuzhu, I would have been happier
The thing is he had no other option. If he had outed Cheng Ze, the one to suffer most would be him because all…
True. I said I would expose chengze because he's been getting on my nerves 😂 but you're right, he had no other choice and that's why his situation is so pitiful and sad.
I've been seeing some wan er slander here like she's boring and weak and shouldn't be with fan xian...To each their own because I think she is not boring or weak. It's fine if you prefer fan xian and duoduo as the otp but don't slander wan er by making up things that are not true about her character. She has a backbone and stands up for herself and her love. She is resolute and smart. The first thing she does in the show is to go find fan xian so she could tell him that she won't marry without love. She does not waver whenever someone tries to sow discord between her and fan xian whether it be the second prince or her own mother. She was ready to run away with fan xian when she came to know that he was going to the beiqi mission so he could marry her. She understands fan xian and is a safe and peaceful space for him because almost everything else in fan xian's life is turbulent and he has to keep his mind running for the next step, next scheme, next problem thrown his way. He instantly looks serene and calm when he sees her for the first time after a long time. Also, her telling off Chengze was with her head held high and firm voice was 🤌🤌. So, I don't know where this notion of her being weak and boring came from because it's wrong. Go ship Fan Xian with anyone you want but don't bring her down in doing so by making wrong character judgements.
I feel really bad for Fan Wu Jiu, second prince's subordinate. He worked for Chengze but his ultimate goal was to pass the spring imperial examination. Instead, he got caught up in all the scheming. He's better than me because I would've exposed Chengze and claimed not guilty😤
I think you missed the ep where fx goes to meet wan er but wan er refuses to see him... having other priorities…
i don't think loyalty and love have gone anywhere. instead they have become stronger. ever since fx went to beiqi and came back, all he has seen is treachery, murder, people coming for his neck, people coming for other innocent people's necks, corruption and lies. this would effect a person's state of mind. and wan er understands that. that's why she refused to see him and fan xian understood her intention. leaves a short and straight to the point message "i miss you"(but I have a lot of shit going on right now). leaving when told to leave isn't always a sign of loss of love. though, it is always open to interpretation.
I think you missed the ep where fx goes to meet wan er but wan er refuses to see him... having other priorities…
again, having other priorities doesn't mean he does not love her. wan er does not meet him because she wanted him to be focused on the court, the politics, his enemies and not because somehow meeting her would harm him. it's fine if you think that way but imo romance can live on even if two people have other priorities that need to be taken care of especially if the priorities include investigating corruption and murder. yes, he has changed but not as in he's become unfaithful. his goals have evolved. he doesn't want to see innocent people being killed for the royalty's gain.
ep. 12.... Our hero, whose only goal was to be with the girl carrying the chicken drumstick and not to leave her…
I think you missed the ep where fx goes to meet wan er but wan er refuses to see him... having other priorities does not mean he doesn't love her anymore. fx in the novel may have a harem but it doesn't look like they will go on that route in the drama.
as much as there are complains about the comedy and wanting the seriousness of season 1 back, imo the drama is actually much more dark in season 2 and has undertones of evil always lurking around. the scene going from "she doesn't know the difference between mule and horse" to "fan xian poisoned the second prince" is exactly what this drama is.
And even then, he still abides by his own moral code - he wouldn't take part of the brides and he continued to…
exactly! and fx actually tells him that he is like that as well but he has support “I wouldn’t survive three days if I didn’t have support” so he extends that support to zi yue basically telling him run wild, create chaos and be a problem for anyone who harms the innocent.
