The way some of the viewers are hating on this show is much more than the criticism they give to other actually shitty dramas that cdramaland always pumps out. The nitpicking is astonishing.

Saw someone commenting on another website that they are loving the new season and someone replied to them "but it's so bad compared to S1" like what a killjoy. no, it IS NOT bad compared to S1. you THINK it is bad and that's only your opinion so say it like an opinion.

I get some of the viewers do not like it because it is more focused on political struggle and is dialogue heavy. And the comedy shrouds all the dark stuff, so some may be finding it hard to pick up the darker undertones. But there are some who say that they don't understand this and that and then say that it's boring. To those, *something you don't understand* ≠ *boring*

yeah season 1 is where the story starts and season 2 is a continuation of the story. those who don't like S2 and say that it can be skipped are just stating their opinion, and opinions can be wrong.

If you watch S1, you will naturally want to see S2 because S1 ends on a cliffhanger. When you get to S2 and watch it, decide for yourself, whether you like it or not.

Personally, I love it a lot and if I had listened to the people who hate it, I might have missed out on an amazing series.

right!!! S1 was like a little adventure and it was awesome but S2 is completely focused on power struggle, scheming and characters manipulating each other left and right. It is dark and foreboding with comedy sprinkled here and there (much appreciated). All these events we are seeing in S2 are definitely leading up to a big thing which I'm not sure, what but I have a feeling something will happen by the end of this season that will set up S3.

jokes aside, if Wang Juan completes the script by the end of this year and they start the production early next year then we may be getting S3 at the very end of next year...may drama gods grant me patience for this

yeah if he dies, it would be well deserved just like the other antagonists but I will always kind of see him as the L from death note wannabe, scheming and manipulative gremlin (affectionate) just as I thought of him in S1 and the very beginnings of S2
