It was a smut scene tho, Im wondering if you can talk abt flaw if this was mean to be dubcon, like that’s the point of it and it’s pretty much what stops their relationships evolution before they acknowledge it again. I think this is a limit we have where we’re not willing to look at characters dev. I don’t feel creeped out &defending it » as this is part of the plot and tells abt the character. I think there are interesting analysis abt this scene that makes it clear that it wasn’t m’épancha to be just a smutty scene that happens to be rape but a scene that also tells a lot abt the character, and makes you understand things like Porsche crash out in the bathroom, or the parallel when they try to have sex with other people, hence why I just don’t see how you want to remove this to put something else instead. It’s not even abt flaws to be bc Im following those 2 characters, yes Kinn fumbled and we saw what it caused, I think in your perfect world this scene would have just never happened, but then the emotional conflicts it gave to both characters wouldn’t have happened. I think their emotional attachment before it happened for example was a reason why this experience was traumatic for Porsche and also, why he was able to forgive Kinn. It’s human nature ig, I think this is a specific context that doesn’t reflect on real life

And I just don’t think so. I don’t think Porsche would have take a kiss so seriously realistically, maybe got mad abt his first kiss with a guy? But his book version is way more northerner by the potentiality of him being in than the show, I don’t think a kiss would have done it nor would have get half of the impact the other option got to the characters. The only way would have been Kinn ghosting him after the kiss but you see in ep 4 that while it brothers Porsche it doesn’t necessary create big reactions bc he himself is trying to understand what it meant. Now knowing that Kinn was Porsche first love, the kiss could’ve gone to the heartbreaking road, like your first live is ignoring you or something, but I still think all the big apologies of ep 6 wouldn’t hit the same, expecially since the events of ep 4 resolve in Kinn acting like a bitch partly bc of his father grooming past the ep 4 events

there is no good portrayal of rape. realistically Porsche would have gone traumatized, and in the best case (aka mafia having psychological talk) he would have gone to a therapist to heal and you would have recommand him to never approach Kinn ever again. plus someone who raped once can hypothetically do it again. But this is fiction I believe, an idealized world where the rapist admit that he did wrong and redeem himself for that, and where Porsche is able to heal bc the person he loves and who hurt him acknowledged their flaws and is willing to do everything for him. One of Porsche major arc as a character is falling in love with Kinn bc this is the first person who take care of him, as someone who had to take care of his brother (and then uncle) after his parents died and sacrificed himself to guarantee his bro a better life. Basically this is a broken character who found comfort in not the best person ever but well

wouldn’t have hit the same, Porsche is all abt nightclub and hook ups a kiss probably wouldn’t have hurt him that bad,e specially since in ep 3 they kiss and in ep 4 he’s thinking abt what this kiss means for HIS feelings, so he’s def not on a defensive/emotionnaly hurt line like he is there. Actually in the drunk scene he’s mostly behaving like this partly bc his brain recalls that kiss they had. But wtv, I just think you’d have to completely remake the plot and find a totally different form of abuse that wouldn’t have been S.A. but then I think you’d come up with the same conclusion abt how they shouldn’t be together bc it’s abusive

what are the points of ep 5 and 6 who resolve around those scenes if you remove that scene in the first place then?

I’ll make a proper criticism later but for the 2 things I would’ve enjoyed, 1- to see more of Tee YAI from citizens (police officers tc…) perspective, since I only see Tee with others during his action scene it became harder for me to tell how did only him became an iconic figure, I can sure get why but I would’ve loved to see how people from the outside see him a bit more and 2- This lowkey should’ve been a serie, even a mini one with 5 eps or something, it feels like it had sm to tell, and it told the story right for the short time, but I know a serie would have get us even more emotionally involved. Other than that, production and acting were good, the story was interesting as well

My first « real » GL as well, like I tried others but never been able to finish them, was really waiting for this one for the prison setting (I live prison shows) and so far I’m not disappointed, hope the rest of the eps will be as good

I might ome back to this comment later but I think there are way too much charactors and no proper introduction to each, but at the same time the show feels empty?

a mix of everything really. Some eps are embracing a mafia plot, some aren't, and last part gets more melodramatic. With the set up it feels like a s2 would have been more mafia plot biaised but it was cancelled so we'll never get that
