Indeed he will...so MANY signs were dropped throughout the episode that I think the script writer said those words only to cheer us up since the truth is way too dark.
As one of the subbers of this drama I can say that rewatching the drama and subbing the final episode was SO painful. I just sat in front of the computer thinking about the best words that could convey Hao Ting's feelings and most importantly....I didn't want to translate ''the end'' at the end.
