Good in what way? It's really good for what it is, a snack sized soap opera and thirst trap! And I mean, it's like finding a perfect cake in the trash, weird packaging but tastes fantastic.
Is it only me or is S.Korea producing way many matchmaker historical series? Give me a break and take me back…
You are just jealous, because you can't use their services, and if you did, your match would probably not look like Rowoon. (I am projecting, it's me, I am jealous. ^^)
It's a tough question alright πFirst, I can say not to worry about what you don't like. Second, the ML is traffic…
Thanks. I don't mind bittersweet or open endings if it fits with the plot, better than a shoehorned in even-the-bedbugs-are-happy ending.
I like a lot of Xiao Zhans dramas, I just finished Sunshine By Your Side and loved Oath of Love. I am neither a fervid Fan not anti Fan of anybody, so π€·ββοΈ. (Okay, maybe Gong Jun. π€)
If it is more interesting than the dramas I mentioned I am gonna be happy, lol.
To watch or not to watch? I am more of a modern romance or Wuxia fan, and I don't mind a FL acting cutesy, if it is not all the way and there is development (like in LBFAD). But romance and chemistry is essential for me, I don't mind a slow burn or slow, calm story even, if there is a great payoff.
What I don't like: - abusive male lead, he is not just ignorant or professional, but verbally or physically abusive. -Extensive, boring sideplots. Along with lack of screen time of the FL and ML together. -Repeat Flashbacks that fill over 30% of an Episode, more than one time. Or constantly talking about the same event over and over and over. (Like Legend of Anle). -Dumb Fight Scenes: detailed fight scenes, that don't do anything for the plot, but last ten minutes (like TTEOM) and is just people unrealistically throwing each other all over the place. I don't mind well done fight scenes or battles, if it changes something in the story, not just fighting and then everyone heals with magic and we go back to the plot. I skip those anyhow, but a heads up would be nice.
I have a resolution to watch dramas all the way through, so please advice me if this show is worth the investment.
Thanks for pointing out YD being a top instructor and that she her career is completely done for. The drama has…
Especially since they had the older generation as contrast on how not to do it, and they could have resisted, but then seen how everyone was happy and maybe also be inspired to try new ways... It would have been so satisfying, no comically evil villains needed. Alas.

I would have loved to have a show about TK emancapating himself from that toxic swamp family and finding a whole new life and way of living with JD and the baby. I thought thats where they were going in the beginning, people forging their own ways, older people learning to read, single mothers, divorcees, adoptees, peaceful divorced coparents...
It's a different concept entirely. Think of them more like soap operas or Telenovela. There are some daily (Mon-Fri)…
This is the first weekender (50 Episodes) I tried, and I honestly dropped it, because it got repetitive and I hate the family. I previously only watched "The Love in your Eyes" a 100+ episode daily drama, that had some skippable screaming mother in law plotlines, but a very charming, non-toxic romance. Of course, also ridiculous plotlines, but somehow well plotted and it had heart, shall we say?
Dalia, BT below has a guide she's given prior posters with the same question, hopefully she'll see this. But, IMO,…
Thanks, this helps a lot. I am definitely there for the romance, and I think I watched till she told him back? Don't remember, all the other drama and bad acting overshadowed the enjoyment in that. I think I will just watch a highlight reel, if someone makes one. They had such good chemistry until they moved into that goddamned annex.
I stopped watching shortly after their love confession at the camping place, so kind of early on. Should I pick this back up? I got really tired of them not doing the rational thing and moving into a place of their own.
50 episodes?!? Is there a glitch in the page?!? Cant be serious!! Chinese dramas are now starting to back down…
It's a different concept entirely. Think of them more like soap operas or Telenovela. There are some daily (Mon-Fri) airing dramas that have over a 100 episodes. They are usually slow, have many sidestories with an ensemble cast and usually contain some family drama. Also cheap production quality and hit or miss acting.
Yes, this review rocks. I will defend the acting any day of the week, but it's like they were making edible soup from rotten ingredients. Also, no one had any chemistry, except maybe Anning and the Qin Prince, and I wonder why that is... Was the mood on set really bad, or what?
I have watched great stories with little chemistry, and that was fine. I have watched crappy stories with great chemistry and that was fine too. But this... Well, I watched until the end, I liked the costuming and Gong Juns abs, I mean, face, I mean, acting. Cough, cough... Oh, no, is it the dreaded cough?
(I actually caught myself thinking he might have Covid, I had this dry he he he going on for months after I had it, and usually when I was standing on my balcony in fresh air, I also looked pale, but without a secret lover to bring me a coat, because while I am not as great a strategist as he is, I know how to keep warm. Yes, I get distracted easily.)

Sorry, can't type those out, haha. I also liked the movies Evergreen Love and Perfect World.
I don't mind spoilers.
