For me the number one reason is the mainlead is an a-hole, who may have his redemption arc triggered by the fact that the FL does not forgive him as all his underlings seem to do, but he should really keep this lesson in his heart for the next girl, who sees a reformed sweetheart and never needs to know. The FL really would need an amnesia plotpoint in some cases for the lovestory to make sense, unless their goal is a honeytrap and revenge.
The side couple seems awful couldn't they have paired her up with one of FLs coworkers instead of mr nonchalant
The restaurant owner and the flirtatious guy? I think they will be great together, since he isn't genuinely bad so far, just very personable. Since she is an independent woman herself, she might suit him better.
please for love of God 🙏🏼 , suggests me kdrama with same kind of plots . suggests me as much possible because…
I really liked Maestra, it has a similar feel on the thriller side (wild plot twists, tension, but no gore) but less romance. And then of course there is Marry my Husband. And Flower of Evil, but that is much darker. I also know a Chinese Mini-Drama that has a similar setup, let me know if u should look it up for you.
True! Don't know how I forgot about Lost Romance! I would classify that one as a "FL falls first" drama but once…
It has been a while since I watched it, but I don't remember her falling for him first, at least not consciously. I remember her playing him to become the FL in the book... but I might be wrong.
Thanks for becoming my friend, btw, it seems we have similar tastes.
9/10. Would have been 10/10, but Chinese drama makers don't know how to stick the ending. In one case the sad ending would have been the happy ending. And in the other case, either clear the misunderstanding earlier or take a couple more episodes. Argh.
Happy to see good acting from Gong Jun, though. But Zhong Chu XI hit it out of the water, wow.
9 out of 10, why don't Chinese drama makers know how to stick the landing, always a huge letdown and rushing in the last few episodes. Otherwise this would have been up there with the best dramas ever. Sometimes the happy ending is the sad seeming ending.
Can we talk about that marriage proposal from Zhao Yang? I could not believe that she proposed to Yang Jian out…
This was the most disappointing part of the ending. I half wanted Yang Jian to end up with Jiang Hi, but I definitely would have found more satisfaction in him growing a spine and a scene or two where he is finally interested in someone else. And Zhaoyang moving out with her mom and learning to live her asexual, aromantic life happily.
Thanks for posting this. I thought it was a straight melodramatic Saeguk from the title and just if ignored it, because I am not in the mood, but you made it sound so good!
I agree, but I think they had no way to justify a single woman without children in China. In the novel she is…
Thanks for telling me this. I was actually looking for a story with a divorcee finding success and romance, and was recommended this show. I am ignoring the 27, in my head cannon she is 35. Do you know where I could find the novel?
Why are so many male actors getting plastic surgery and ruining whatever good looks they had before? As a dude,…
Right, this was my thought exactly. He has such mesmerising eyes and interesting face, but his acting already suffered from lack of facial expression in RIABB and it seems he is now getting worse.
