I won't spoil anything but I kind of wish a specific one of your theories was right because I want to watch that…
I just read on your profile, you always have second lead syndrome... Oh, oh. I only get it with poor WRC, who often plays the second lead. A. Class of her Own made me mad. Lol.
Okay, I just finished episode 5. From the reviews it seems there is a plottwist in episode 6.
I want to post my theories here, so I can come back and check if I was right: Theory 1: FL's parents were killed by ML's parents and probably bribed their way out of punishment, it is an elaborate revenge plot. Base: her mentioning her parents were killed in a car accident when she was 10, FL is very calculating and wants to stay at the school. Knows how his parents met etc.
Theory 2: FL is a time traveller and was actually in love with ML in the future. They had to seperate because of his mother, and she wants him to detach early. Was friends with the poor girl. Base: memory flashes and clock in the opening, knows background of his parents.
Theory 3:FL is a time traveller and was in love with ML in the future. He becomes messed up by his mom somehow, keeps doing rebellious things and keeps escalating, does drugs or illegal stuff and then dies from regret about his messed up life, leaving behind FL and possible kids, who are also messed around. FL tries to correct his ways, before it is too late.
Theory 4: FL was placed in ML's life by (his dad? his mom?) to get straighten him up, before he goes to college. She too is controlled by his mom and money, like all the people in his life. (Least likely, but whatever.)
Theory 5: FL is a psychopath who is in it for shits and giggles and just wants to win against everyone. (Base: FL very calculating, knows background of everyone.)
Theory 6: FL's Dad is actually ML's Dad, and he left her and her mom for the chairwoman. After her mom died he never picked her up, because he had a new baby. Revenge plot.
Idk how I went from MOVIE lover to movies avoider, nowadays I need a big push to complete a movie except the theatrical…
Same. After watching all the great character development in dramas movies seem to be so shallow and predictable. Barely any time for the best moments to unfold.
For me personally, I shy away from overhyped shows mostly because of the spoilers, it feels like I have already watched the whole show just from the clips. If I want to be 'in the know' I just watch one of those 'their story' Videos on YouTube, a whole show in 15 minutes. Sometimes I will come back and watch the show years later, and enjoy it then, probably. The nitpicking mostly comes if I am just going through the motions, if it's not my Genre or current mood at all. And with the generic tsundere dramas, I can't help it if there is no plot.
I find the best dramas are the mid-hype dramas, where you ask for recommendations from people with the same taste and then get a random drama with really high ratings that you never heard about. Usually they have less mainstream plots and no spoilers. Sometimes it's also dramas that were called silly or bad acting by some random Fandom, but people outside of the Fandom war quite liked. Like, I don't care if XYZ actor had a bad drama before or some issues in his offscreen life, I am just here to relax and hug my pillow after a long day of adulting.
Anyhow, thanks for adding to my long list of dramas to be watched. Would love more articles on Jdramas too.
The only series / drama that live up to the hype is GAME OF THRONES for me...
Dropped it after the first season. My parents were heavy into the fantasy genre, and I felt like I read that book 50 times when I was a teen, until I finally got access to a library and could choose my own books.
I personally have come to the conclusion that I just don't like 99% of the overhyped dramas. I hated Love O2O,…
Also, I haven't watched CLOY yet, even though it fell into my prime KDrama phase, because it was so hyped I got spoilers left and right, and feel like I know the plot and all the good parts already.

Boys over Flowers and Meteor Garden were such a hilarious let down. I watched other dramas before those, thankfully, because I don't think I would have come back.
Strangely, this isn't my genre at all, but I am excited. Sounds like a very unusual drama, and I am sure those two will deliver some intense performances.
So, do I have to watch Season 1 before watching this, or is it a standalone? (I crave some Lee Joon Gi, and want to watch the first season anyway, but I don't know if I am in the mood for a major time investment.) Are all the seasons/parts binge material or more one episode at a time material?
I am sorry, I loved the romance, I even loved the concept.
But apart from the silly side characters, I couldn't help humming "dumb ways to die" ever so often. Does she think she is Do Bong Soon, which this was clearly inspired by, running around in the forest while a murderer and stalker is on the loose? This was such lazy writing. But yeah, they were cute together, I love people going really soft for each other.

But of course, we can only draw from genres we watch, which in my case are female focused dramas and romances.
