I see him as a very smart and capable male lead even though he appears quieter and softer than FL. He quietly analyze his opponents (for example, he reads the PR conference manual not out of boredom but to evaluate the attendees) and can quite hold his own in conversations with anyone (including the big shots at the PR conference or the women at QS's company luncheon).

My favorite one (I still love the alpha male after all), we also got glimpses of the protective YH when he went looking for QS at the PR conference and glared at the SML after asking her if she was okay. I think we might see more of the protective YH later in ep 14 unless the trailer for that epi is misleading.

ML is also very confident in his own way because he couldn't care less what people thought of him when he carried QS back to her office or when he defended his "wife" against all the macho lawyers and said that he would stay home and take care of the household while she focused on her career.

To me, he's the ideal ML (the fact that he's gorgeous helps too 😍)

For me, I think QS's simple apartment reflects how she really is deep down: a simple and humble girl. The over-the-top, confident attorney is just an image she wants to portray to the outside world. I have noticed that when she's home, she wears plain clothes (sweats, shorts) and minimal makeup, and I feel like that is the real QS.

I have no idea why, probably jealousy. Just some speculation from my part from watching the ost. There was a scene where she was yelling at QS and it looks like she was showing QS the door. Who knows, the scene might be misleading.

I think Li Dai will end up being a good character. I was watching some snippets from the ost, and it looks like Wu Fei might give QS some troubles. I think Wu Fei is the daughter of some powerful dude.

I'm also watching Thank you doctor and didn't really find the ML having less screen time than YM (I'm only on ep 12 so maybe the later episodes are different). What I find lacking is their screen time together 😍

Haha her voice can be really whiny/annoying but it grows on you. I'm getting used to it with Novoland, Thank you doctor, and now SAHPH.

I'm on ep 3 and loving it. A great combination of chemistry and humor!

Well, i'm hoping she'll eventually appreciate what she got (rather sooner than later)

As a high ranking officer, I wonder why ML never contacted FL while she was abroad. Too many plot holes in the drama. I really enjoyed it though!

Ugh! I think the drama will have FL and son return to China to look for ML but will stop here so we won't know whether she finds him or not and we won't see their reunion. I should have known these Republican era dramas rarely have a happy ending. So many characters are killed off...I guess an open ending is better than sad. For those who can't stand FL, maybe they can just imagine FL coming back to China to find that ML has moved on with another woman 🤣 I was annoyed with FL most of the times but I was still rooting for FL-ML happy ending as I don't think ML could forget her. I'm just gonna assume that she finds him when she returns and they pick up their life together from there.

same here. I think they either kill off ML or let him join FL in the US but the side story of the nurse will probably be axed as there will be no time.

I'm one who complained a lot about the FL, but I am still hooked to this drama. I can't wait to see how it ends. I also think Shawn Dou is very good at his role as the ML. The actress playing FL is also quite good. Her characterization is what most people have a problem with. I guess i'm just a sucker for angst and tragedy

I agree. It just seems like every time she gets with ML, she was forced into it (by her circumstances and not actually by ML) or wanted something from him. ML would agree to anything to protect her. I was so annoyed when she saw SML as Mrs Shen and was ready to blow her cover to talk to him but still kept on lying to ML and his family about her identity even after knowing the truth about her miscarriage and how much her husband suffered while she was away. Oh well, I guess her idiotic ways make me appreciate ML character so much more. I just hope he has a happy ending

I'm all caught up and looking forward to watching ep 40 and beyond. I have read that the drama will follow the book's open ending. We'll see if that's true. I'm really sad that Commander Xiao , the twins and Aunt Qi die as they were my favorite characters in the drama. They were the most sensible characters. Aunt Qi was so forgiving toward FL, welcoming her back with open arms after FL repeatedly lied to her about not being Hangjing

I also want ML to just move on so I really don't need a happy ending anymore. That ungrateful FL needs to feel the sting of rejection. My dream ending would be for her to curl up in bed and missing ML as she realizes that he was the one who loved her most and that she could have had a wonderful life with him had she given him 1% of the love he had given her.
