Wow this is really awkward.Japanese and American drama formats are not the same. This drama had a light feeling…
I am a fan of most of the Asian remakes and I am going to watch because I want to judge something once I've actually seen it. Obviously I can't say that it's going to be great, it could potentially flop, but to say it's going to be horrible without seeing it... well, close minded people are close minded lol

I was so excited when I heard there would be an American version, but after reading details about the show and…
Sakurahain, I'm not sure how you can watch Asian dramas if you're going to base whether you like something on it's similarities to something else. Every Asian drama has a formula to it so at their core they are all very similar. It's HOW that formula plays out that's what is important. You'd be hard pressed to find something out there (asian drama or not) that doesn't remind you of something else at all. And how can what a group of people look like have anything to do with their acting abilities? Have you seen these actors in anything before? Are you seriously only basing your opinion on what they look like?

Why can actual high schoolers play in an High School tv-show in the US? I know asians look young in their twenties…
Tampopo, THANK YOU for your comment! I like how self-professed fans seem to not know basic facts about the actors that play the characters in their favorite Asian drama and make these comments. For anyone that is being stubborn and saying these actors don't look young enough: how about waiting to see how they look on screen when the show actually comes out? Clothing, makeup, and acting goes a long way. You're comparing pictures of the Asian actors "in character" after having seen the drama with headshots of actors you're unfamiliar with in a show you haven't seen. Obviously, there's going to be bias there. I still for the life of me can't understand why people are so against this project.

The casts looks too old to be teenagers!!! I must say that they are misscast big time!!!
Letty, they're not too old. Being in grad school in your 20s isn't old, but who is actually too old for grad school anyhow? Except for the lead, who is 29, the rest of the actors are between 20-25 years old. That is pretty much the same age range that all of the Asian actors were at the time their versions aired.

I suggest everyone reads this if you already haven't: 21 Questions about the American Boys Over Flowers remake…
I think the reason they likely changed it to a performing arts school is the Hana Yori Dango movie, Makino was a Dancer. http://www.anime-planet.com/anime/hana-yori-dango-the-movie

i have no idea who any of these people are -_-
When you watched any/all of the Asian versions did you know who all of the actors were? In most Asian versions it was the actor's first drama (and for the main roles, not side characters), but did it ruin the Korean version for instance? No, so being unheard of doesn't automatically mean bad, all actors have to start somewhere.

The cast is horrible!! They dont look young at all !!!!!!.... I think they will ruin the image of the drama if…
How is the cast horrible? They look like Grad students. A US Version can not ruin the Asian versions. Have you seen all of the Asian versions? They aren't all good, one version isn't even recognizable as Hana Yori Dango at all and yet it didn't ruin the image.

Who would even want to watch this? ;)
They sure didn't care, that's why the company decided to stop generously answering fan questions when these people that didn't care became incredibly racist and posted unfounded comments. If they didn't care, they wouldn't hate on it. Cityhunter was neither over dramatic or butt hurt, just calling out another internet troll.

I don't even see how an American version of this could be made well without changing the whole story line. The…
I assume you have examples of what you mean. What could a US version not do that the Asian version does? Aside from the honorifics and being a completely Asian cast? I don't think some fans think about how much belief they suspend while watching Asian dramas.

Money is power and I could see a Grad school for the rich in the US using power to hide bullying and other things that happen just as they do in the Asian version. Viewers suspend belief that it's possible for wealthy families to get away with kidnapping and bullying in Asia, but is that really ok? No, though I am sure that people can be bought to overlook things like that, I'm sure that happens all over the world in one form or another.

I'm not saying you should watch this, I'm just trying to understand why you're blindly hating something that hasn't even aired yet.

Ugh, why Kpop/dramas fans always bash americans dramas (and music)? That's really annoying. Just wait and see.
Not all of us do that. I'm a fan of Asian Dramas and Pop and I don't think I'll ever fully understand the trolling and bashing.

One thing I don't like about this cast : why the need to make it so obviously multi-racial ? I just hope it's…
I think it's to represent the diversity of the US. And if that's the case, I'm completely okay with that. I'm not saying you or anyone that feels this way is racist, but doesn't your comment make it about race by pointing that out? What does it matter about race so long as the acting is good? I'm more concerned about the actors skills as an actor than their skin color.

Title Crazy Love
I wonder if I am the only person who hasn't dropped this. Lol, I really don't like this drama but I am trying…
I didn't drop it... though I did skip over quite a bit. I feel this could've been great if it hadn't be so many episodes. 20 max, though I think 16 would've sufficed. On the positive side, that cake kiss was hot O_O At least the leads had some chemistry, I just wish they'd had more opportunities for teh sexy times. The ending was ok, but after ALL of that struggling, they couldn't get another kiss when it was "ok" for them to be together finally? :/ Another reason I don't hate this drama is that at least people got what was coming to them in the end. I just watched another drama were there was ZERO accountability for the "villains", on just felt really bad for what she did and the other just continued being a complete betch :/ So unsatisfying when that happens...

For those saying that this project will be bad because the US cast members are new comers... here are some facts…
Lastly, for every person that might say that they won't bother with the Asian versions because the US one was so bad, there will be someone that is curious and that will become a fan of the Asian versions. Though I really hope for the best, even if it's not great, it still gets the word out to potential US fans who may have never even known amazing Asian dramas exist. There is a lot to be excited for too.

For those saying that this project will be bad because the US cast members are new comers... here are some facts you may not know: Hana Yori Dango was only Matsuda Shota's 2nd drama, Abe Tsuyoshi's 3rd drama. Boys Before Flowers was only Kim Hyun Joong's 1st drama as a main character, and Kim Hyung Joon's 1st drama. And the whole main Taiwanese cast of Meteor Garden...was their first drama (with maybe a couple of bit parts or cameos). So arguing that the US actors will be bad because you may not have heard of them is silly. Most of the US actors (according to IMBD) have experience, perhaps not as much as we'd like, enough to get rid of the nervousness of this project, but experience nonetheless. Also, even if the project is a huge flop, it can't take away or change the love you have for whatever version you love.
