The actors are wonderful, but it lacked the energy of the live-action movie and the creepiness of the anime. This is one of my favourite stories of all time, but this version, except for a few scenes, feels a bit soft. Shit ending.

From romance/drama to comedy/horror, and even romantic comedy, I think it’s really cool that Jisoo is expanding her acting skills by taking on different types of roles without worrying about looking silly on screen or damaging her brand. That’s what makes her a true artist: she’s willing to challenge herself and grow, while many others prefer to play it safe by sticking to the same kinds of roles. I hope she becomes known as a great actress overall, not just the queen of a specific genre. She hasn’t landed a lead role in a major Korean movie yet, but I’m looking forward to seeing whether her presence on the big screen will be just as strong as it is on TV.
