Okay so I watched this, gave it a bad rating and came back to it the other day because I didn't remember why I hated it so much. Now I do. Oh my god. That plotline of Wao liking (and dating) Gen's older sister was HELLA GROSS. She's his teacher, the power imbalance is wild but most importantly, pedo alert much? No one mentions it cos it's a woman, but fml, if the genders were reversed, people would be going crazy in the comments. Like hello, what are these double standards? Dude's still in high school! Also don't understand why something is immediately tagged as LBTQ when the relationship b/w the two males (at least in the movie) is nothing more than brotherly love. Feels like it's a bit misleading. Ah, and the other plot of Gen and the FL (forgot her name myf) was so boring, I stopped watching right after Haruka confronted the FL for not talking to her about stuff or whatever.
This movie was so good at first omg, I'd been looking for this movie for so long and when I found it I was ecstatic. Let me tell you, the chemistry/banter between her and the SML was everything like dude was literally a walking green flag and I just KNEW she was going to pick him....and then...she didn't? And then she ends up choosing the FML who is toxic af and keeps calling her ugly? LIKE WHAT. How did this movie turn into the biggest red flag in the history of red flags? I was so disappointed because never has a SML been the clear choice here. He literally liked her for her personality and stuck with her through thick and thin whereas the FML just had an ugly girl kink or something. It was weird. Sad to say I hated this movie.
This season was so boring compared to the first one! The storyline was meh and I didn’t feel connected to any of the characters :/ I also loved Kim Hana in season 1 but I couldn’t stand her in this for some reason. I felt like their acting (especially hers) got worse? It was so awkward I ended up dropping it halfway.
I reaaaaaalllly loved this omg but it was TOOOO short! I felt like it had a solid storyline for a full fledged drama or even a movie—the length was probably the only downside cos everything else was stellar!
I literally went into this for the romance but it’s pretty misleading cos there isn’t much of that at all ;-; so while I am disappointed it was still pretty great lmao, the ridiculousness was endearing although pretty cringe.
On the other hand she's completely dominating that niche role, no other young actresses with similar physical…
Yeah she rocks pretty much every role she does, small or not but that’s exactly why I want her to do other dominating lead roles so that everyone can see just how much passion and drive she has when she acts. I feel like she deserves it. She has so much more potential than the small roles she gets. It’s just disappointing. But yeah I agree, she’ll be even more amazing in the future!
Dark Mist- i’m torn because I want the two main characters to get together that’s the point of the show……
Unfortunately I'm still watching BUT only for Kaituo!! I haven't seen that ep yet but now I'm even more depressed after finding out that she doesn't even consider him at all :\ that's so sad. I'm genuinely hurt lol but you're right. This is probably one of the only shows where they don't take petty jealousy out on each other and doesn't let a girl ruin their friendship.
I've developed a second lead syndrome because of him in a little thing called first love... he's so cute. I want…
OMG I LEGIT THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO FELT THAT WAY THIS ENTIRE TIME AND WAS GONNA GIVE UP ON THE SHOW. I’m forcing myself to watch the rest despite knowing it might not happen :( I’m so annoyed but I squeal like a girl whenever the two of them have moments together lmao. I’ve never had second lead syndrome this bad tho like this is actually heartbreaking.
Dark Mist- i’m torn because I want the two main characters to get together that’s the point of the show……
That’s so true haha. All the signs are there and it’s so obvious she likes Younian even despite the misunderstandings. Like that dilemma with the chocolates my heart broke a little but I was sure he figured it out then :/ But yes omg you do make a good point. I’m curious to see how it ends and what sort of dramatic events they’ve planned for like 36 episodes. I just hope there’s not too much back and forth going on but like you said, I hope to see some hidden charms!
Dark Mist- i’m torn because I want the two main characters to get together that’s the point of the show……
I honestly think that’s what’s gonna happen too. Like he might be a little heartbroken over MiaoMiao after finding out that she actually likes Younian and then He Xin’s gonna swoop in and save the day and he might fall for her. My thing is that I don’t like them together so unfortunately I might have to stop watching before my heart breaks. It’s a cute and simple show but for me, it’s kinda unsatisfying. I think I expected too much :(
Dark Mist- i’m torn because I want the two main characters to get together that’s the point of the show……
The fact that the whole point of the show is for those two to get together makes it even more heartbreaking. That means there's no chance for Kaituo now D: Like I used to really like the show but tbh, I only see it for Kaituo now which isn't the attitude I should have because the relationship, as you said, is between the two main leads. I probably should stop watching but I can't ;-; But yes!! I agree with you! There's more funny and cute moments with them than the two main leads which I feel is kind of awkward and slow, in a sense. He's nice but...I don't know, there's just too much back and forth going on like you said whereas Kaituo is the type who knows what he wants so if he ever punched Younian in the face (lol), I would 100% support him. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way lol!
Reading the comments...I’m genuinely surprised. Am I the only one rooting for Lin Kaituo and Miao Miao? They have few scenes together but in the ones where they are together, it’s super adorable with the bantering. I feel like they have more chemistry together and she’s more herself than with the main lead. Once again, my heart is hurting due to Second Lead Syndrome especially since I know this ship is probs never gonna happen. :(
She deserves more shows or movies where she's the main lead. It's kinda sad cos she's got so much more potential than just the typical ''fat' girl on the side' roles that she's placed in for movies/shows.
Oh god, I hate this trope of 'omg so ugly cos i'm fat but hey, imma undergo plastic surgery because skinny is perfect and LOOK IM BEAUTIFUL NOW'. Wow, I'm literally so riled up because I'm just so sick of this idea that you need to be skinny to be beautiful. But hey, if it's a good show then I hope people enjoy it but I just want to stay away from movies/shows like this.
Honestly, I love this show and usually, I'm very picky about shows that play with the idea of an 'unattractive' FL and 'hot' ML. The FL in this is beautiful and so headstrong, despite all the shiz that she gets faced with. That raw determination really inspires me to be the best I can be and plough through the shiz that comes my way too. I don't get why people are complaining and hating on the show for being true to how cruel society is because of a person's appearance. I've been bullied before for being 'ugly' and 'fat' because it's different to what society deems as 'beautiful' so I can honestly relate to this--shit like this happens irl. This is one of the only shows I've seen where the female lead isn't your typical skinny, model/doll-like girl who thinks she's ugly or has over the top clothes or crazy hair to make her look 'ugly' when she's not lol. It hits me in the feels a lot and for that, this show has to be congratulated. <3
So in agreement about the dragging! So happy seeing someone agree about this overrated drama.Doesnt help that…
Legit same! I wanted to give it a try since it was so recommended and popular but I didn’t get what the big fuss about it was. It just didn’t suit me I guess but yeah, it is super draggy lmao!
I really liked A.I. love you in a way I didn't think I would. It's a simple and cute love story. The way the movie was filmed was different as well, and I loved that. Love's voice was captivating and it made me fall in love with just his voice because I could hear the affection, the sadness, the love and the warmth his voice held. I didn't even care about his face lol. I found myself rooting for Love and Haruka. I even ended up crying quite a lot near the end because the relationship b/w them and even the ending was slightly bittersweet (also because of the sad music that I ended up liking) This was a movie that depicted love without the words or even intimate actions like kissing (even though I really wanted it to happen). It did, however, confuse me at some points: like the ending, even though it was a good one, wasn't quite satisfying for me and it didn't make any sense (how did he get a human body? Where did he come from?) but for the sake of the movie, you just have to go with it. For this movie you kinda gotta reject reality a little to truly enjoy it because some things can leave you thinking 'that can't happen' or 'that doesn't even make sense'. But either way, I really liked this movie and I encourage everyone to watch it when you have some time to spare because even though it's not the best, it will definitely hold a small place in your heart for the cuteness of it!
I honestly don't know how to feel about this movie. Some people don't like how she ended up with Mirai but I was totally rooting for him the whole time, so that was the only plus. The downside was that she seemed to be in love with Yuji and then she did a complete 180 (I mean, I was happy if that meant she ended up with Mirai). Honestly, some of the stuff in the movie was unnecessary - it would have been cuter if Mirai and her relationship as lovers and not as best friends anymore, was fleshed out better. But that probably would have made the movie longer. Anywho, I loved how it was a cross-cultural thing and wished Emma Roberts had a bigger part :(
I read the manga. I guess they change it. He has issues with this "love". As soon as a girl fall for him he would…
Yeah probably! I don’t read manga but I’m guessing with the way you’ve explained it, that the manga was better and at least good in terms of explaining his and her actions and the ‘love’. I wouldn’t recommend this movie to you to watch, honestly, because you might be disappointed especially if you’re comparing it with the manga (you might be disappointed in general too). But it’s your choice: it’s something to watch when you have time to spare in my point of view. And who knows! You might actually enjoy it!
