The monk is Xu Zu , third protagonist from Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils who was one of the sworn brother of Xiao Feng, former chief of the beggar sect preceding Hong Qi about two generation . Before Xiao Feng died at the end of Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, he entrusted Xu Zu with the manuals of 18 Dragon Subduing Palms and Dog Beating Staff Technique to pass it on to someone worthy to lead beggar sect. Monk Xu Zu was mention by a beggar sect elder when he was to talking to the duan prince and his beggar friend during Ep 3.
