I’m not through watching this series, and I don’t know if I will or not, simply because each episode is so difficult to get through. The acting is excellent, as are the costumes and story. Each character’s perspective on the events is well portrayed However the story is a familiar one, and personally very triggering for me. I want to finish it, because it IS a very good story, but I also don’t want to put myself in a bad headspace. I do recommend it, but proceed with caution if you are triggered by rape, victim blaming and other forms of assault. Episode 7 was particularly difficult to get through when Ru Lan was interrogated by the Yamen.
