I'm surprised that the Douban dropped from 6.8 to 6.4.
I won't bother too much about Douban's scores, they're skewed by rival companies, filmmakers and fan factions who are always all out to destroy their rivals. The scores rarely reflect the true merits of the films/dramas.
I have a genuine ques. What makes this drama so popular. I mean i am still at ep 27. So it's safe to say that…
It's a matter of perspective. If you watch this as an idol+romance drama like most of the people here did then it deserves a high score. If you watch it as court fight/war battle drama (which it is not) then of course it won't be up to your expectation. Most of the people who complains here belongs to the later category.
I love this drama but I have a question... Whos the villain here? Im in ep17.Is yan zheng uncle the bad guy?Is…
At this moment you can take it such that: - Wei Yan (Yan Zheng's uncle) was the bad guy controlling the puppet emperor. - Grand Tutor Li appeared to be a good guy but he was also fighting for power (things will change later). Li Huai'an was his grand son. - General He Jingyuan was a good guy. His student Li Huai'an... well you'll find out later. - Shui Yuanhuai (Prince Qi Min, the guy obsessed with Yu Qianqian) was a bad guy. - Yu Qianqian was a transmigrator from modern time. That's why she knew CPR and could manage the business so well. You can google for a relationship diagram of these people, it will help a lot.
Lol the drama (and original novel) has the title "Pursuit of Jade", jade in Chinese is yu, which is part…
Lol you watched many dramas with female leading and with more screen presence and ok with them, but somehow this one cannot accept.😅 Anyway it's ok you don't like it, we all have our preferences.👌 Cheers.
I am nearly in 20th episode but feel like ml get less screen presence and they didn't even show his fight scenes.…
Lol the drama (and original novel) has the title "Pursuit of Jade", jade in Chinese is yu, which is part of Changyu's name. So there you go, it is her story😂 (but of course later it was also explained that jade also represents purity of heart which describes both of them). To me it's fine, because there are already tons of ML centric dramas but FL centric dramas are few and far between.
I'll never forget that scene where changyu asked xie zheng to bow at his own grave,i mean yes she did not knew…
First episode is already quite funny, where Changyu was worrying Yan Zheng might die because he vomited blood due to her questioning, and contemplating whether to just dig a hole and bury him because coffin was expensive. And she pull straws with her sister to let heaven decide, and lost 3 times in a roll. And so she carved a memorial tablet for him.😂
For me, the ending of Qi Min was poetical tbh. And yes, she is desperate for her little sister, as an older sister…
My take is she didn't want any favour from Li Huai An as she could feel he had feelings for her, but she already had someone in her heart. So she'd rather find her sister on her own.
Guys I need to know, how old is fan changyu and xie zheng in drama canonically? I know Changyu is 19 as Xie Zheng…
In the novel Fan Changyu was mentioned to be 16 but drama changed it to 19. Xie Zheng is only known to be 20+ and exact age is unknown... but why is this important?
I'm a sucker for well made action scenes in a historical/costume drama. Can anyone recommend similar dramas, please?
The Immortal Ascension is full of great actions scenes, but not historical but rather cultivation drama (costume wise yes). No romance though. Its donghua is also action packed, with all the fighting scenes modelled after real human martial artists.
Why did Wei Yan received death penalty while Li Jing (grand tutor) who committed treason was not punished?
In the ending episode, it is clear that he wasn't left unpunished. All his wealth/assets and possessions were confiscated and he was exiled. Here is what Baidu's PoJ page said about Grand Tutor Li Jing: 'In the TV series finale, because Li Jing had many former students and officials throughout the court and country and was involved in many affairs, for the sake of political stability the new emperor and the regent did not execute him, but exiled him to the southwest, where he was able to "live out his old age in peace".' Now let's look at the context of "treason". To the existing emperor Qi Shen and Wei Yan, of course anyone who wanted to dethrone Qi Shen was committing treason. But to Qi Min/Li Jing, the previous emperor was forced to abdicate by Wei Yan, and the rightful heir to the throne should be Qi Min who was the son of the former crown prince. Now how about Xie Zheng? He also wanted to bring the original bloodline back, but to him Qi Min was too ruthless/cruel and Yu Baoer was the rightful heir to the throne. With Qi Shen developed mental illness and power fell to Yu Baoer/Xie Zheng's hands they became the ones to make judgement. Remember Yu Baoer was Qi Min's son, so Li Jing's action was not really a "treason" to them. Li Jing was punished more for his abuse of power, causing the Jinzhou massacre, and his numerous bad deeds etc.
Yes and no. No because the Yellow Maple Arc is completed. Yes because this is only the very beginning and Han Li's story continues, with next season's (if any) adventures in a different place and a different arc.
