They had expanded a lot on Mo Caihuan's story already and she was given a lot of screen time in the drama lol. In the novel Ms Mo's story was actually very brief, and the donghua simplified it even further by reducing the members in Mo's family. Later realizing the audiences love Ms Mo, the script writing team had reverted it back in the drama and followed the novel (Physician Mo had 4 wives and 3 daughters, in the donghua it was reduced to one wife and one daughter). The reincarnation relationship was not known until almost near the end of volume 2 of the novel, and even so the author had only hinted it vaguely.

The donghua team did a fantastic job in the adaptation and added a lot of warmth and human nature to Han Li's character. Tbh I didn't like his character very much the first time I read through the novel, as he is cold, calculative, driven only by gains, and at time even dishonest. But subsequent read through somehow I kinda accepted it lol.

Yup lol, and I remember someone commented why no blood, but I couldn't recall whether it was the drama or the donghua😂

No official announcement yet, but I think quite likely because season 1 had earned money lol. But season 2 is quite difficult to make because the story happened at the sea + the island city fortresses etc and so they need a lot more budget. I'm very curious on how they're gonna present it (e.g. on land they could use wire for flying actions but it would be difficult over the sea unless using cgi).

It's only the beginning and the story gets a lot better down the road. The sheer imagination of the author is truly amazing, and in the novel there are quite a few circumstances where it looks like certain death for Han Li and there is absolutely no way out, but somehow the author could find a way to let him live lol.

There are also audio novel version on YT (in Mandarin of course but with subs).

They were all speaking different Chinese dialects (but only occasionally). E.g. Wang Chan was speaking Dongbei dialect (because Wang Duo is from Dongbei), his henchmen Zhong Wu was speaking Qingdao dialect (actor Patrick Zhang from Qingdao), and elder Tong Henan dialect (actor Deng De En from Henan). Martial uncle Ma in the herbs garden was speaking Mandarin mixed with Catonese dialect all the time. It was purposely done to increase the amusement among Chinese audience who would get and identify with them.

She was already made better in the donghua/drama, and tried to help HL escape. In the novel it was the complete opposite lol.

And I thought why your progress is so slow lol. Here are a few very well received ones: Renegade Immortal, Tale of Herding God, Jade Dynasty, Ling Cage (Sci-fi), A Portrait of Jianghu: Bad Guys (Wuxia), Sword of Coming (Wuxia). But so far none can top RMJI (which has a rating of 9.4 on Douban for the latest season), although some have higher viewership (one explanation is because RMJI is only 15 mins/ep and fans have the habit of accumulating eps before viewing in bulk, which is evident in ep 156 when they all came out to watch HL level up).

I sure hope they will do a better job selecting the cast for Zi Ling this time lol.

Not yet, still very very very far far away lol. The latest donghua ep 157 is only about chapter 640, which covers 25% of volume 1 😂 So according to current rate, it would be... ~ ep 628 lol

The story for season 1 arcs is completed. In season 2 a totally new and unrelated adventure awaits him.
