And father of the year award goes to ... bitch-face's husband. Man, I get why Dongeun ended up with Yeojung from like, a story-telling perspective. But the chemistry she had with Doyoung was sizzling. What a fine, fine man. Too bad he had such a questionable choice in spouse.
Genuinely didn't think I was going to love this as much as I did. I thought this was going to be another highly overrated drama, but decided to give it a try because I didn't have anything else to watch. And boy, am I glad I did. I loved it so much that I'm rewatching it only 10 days after finishing it the first time.
But I gotta be honest. Sang Yan was the one who stole the show for me. What a man. I hope to see Victor Ma in a lead role soon. <3
I genuinely don't understand why people love this so much? Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I don't fault anyone for liking it. But I just don't understand. It was so fucking boring. I forced myself to finish watching it, but it felt like every single episode was five hours long, despite watching it at 2x speed. Did I watch a different drama from everyone else? I don't get it ...
I more like than dislike this drama, but waaay too much time was spent on first their mortal selves and then the dream version of them in Aranya's dream. It feels like very little time was spent on who they really are. Sigh ...
I know everyone loves Jo Eun Seop/Jo Yeong (Woo Do Hwan), and I agree, but honestly Kang Shin Jae (Kim Kyung Nam) stole the show for me. I just wanted to give him a big hug throughout. As I lost interest in the main couple (way too insta-lovey for me), he was what made me stick through till the end.
This drama truly has a talent for making the character's hairstyles worse. It looked good in the beginning, why did they change it? (This comment is about Taekyung and Jeremy).
TIL that once upon a time Jang Hyuk and Shin Sung Rok starred in the same drama. I feel blessed to have received this knowledge and will promptly binge this show.
Omg I watched the entirety of ep 8 before realizing that they've released 2 episodes today. TT Now I have to go back and watch episode 7. Everything's in the wrong order.
Your title itself is problematic. There is no concept here, it is a slice of life drama and depicts continuity…
What the fuck do you mean? Of course it has a concept. Do you think the writers pitched the drama without an idea or concept of what they wanted to express. Just because it's slice of life doesn't mean it doesn't have a concept. You can disagree with me if you want, but you can't claim it doesn't have a concept. All movies/tv shows/books etc do. The concept for this drama is that they wanted to depict an ordinary family and the siblings' strive for liberation. That in and of itself is a concept. And I think it failed at what it set out to do.
You can dislike my opinion all you want. I don't fault you for liking the drama. But my review is expressing my experience with this drama honestly and fairly. And I'll use whatever fucking words I want when I write it. Google concept and maybe you'll finally understand what it means. :)
I really loved the past in this drama, with Sunja as the main character. I could have done without the future parts with the grandson as the main character, because frankly, I didn't give a shit about him. But christ. Now I've totally fallen for Steven Noh (No Sanghyun). I hope he gets more roles in the future. His character was my favorite throughout.
Omg yees. Shin Sung Rok back in another drama. I've been waiting for this since Kairos. Too bad he isn't the ml, but hopefully he'll have a lot of screen time. <3<3
SC saying “I trust you as Dandan’s mother so be responsible for it” to Anna tells everything you need to…
I mostly agree with your comment, except for the bit about most parents reacting that way. What the fuck kind of parents would lock their adult daughter inside a room against her will because they refuse to let her make her own choices and be happy? If that's the kind of parents most people have, I'm genuinely concerned for the world.
In a healthy parent-child relationship the parents will trust that they raised their child well enough to be able to make their own decisions. Any concerns they might have would be brought up in a respectful way. As a parent you're allowed to worry for your child, that doesn't mean you're allowed to make their decisions for them.
If my parents ever acted like DD's parents have been in this drama, I would probably cut contact with them. (Though my parents would never act that way, because they're not fucking insane).

In that case I agree. I understand their feelings, but their actions are waay out of line

I miss him :(
The drama is not the same without him TT
