How many times has he said he wasn't leaving then you try pulling the "do you want something to happen to her if they are trying to hurt you card." He gets it--so stop already. Now seeing this dude in the garage makes me think you tried another set up again to get him away from her.

@MyLangyaList the final episodes were good. I felt there was consistency throughout the drama which is sometimes rare to find.
If an actor/actresses can really make me despise them, then they are doing their job. In this case, PRJ did that and did it well. Slithering like a snake like she came from the Garden of Eden telling lies all the time but was always so believable.
Even the ending was happy but to see the final scene let you know that MZH never gave up who she said she was going to be from the very beginning as did LD stay to his commitment to her.
I have watched all the remaining episodes and get ready for spoilers. If you donât want to know, donât read any further.

Episode 35 - Mid-Autumn Festival â The Set Up - Yes, I am her manâŠand?
This is where things just went crazy. Now you know it was time to get things rolling for PRJ aka Evil Regina. So, here we go.
The Mid-Autunm Festival was merry with Chen and all of the ministers in attendance. But you know there some conspiring afoot.
LD was chilling out and watching MZH as she was trying to eat a cookie that was a brick. She saw him looking at her and they exchanged glances and smiles. Chen goes to see Mama Empress to propose the annual toast and of course to see if one of the girls there he will show interest to marry.
Meanwhile back at the event, Evil Regina had one of the attendants spill a drink onto MZH which then led her to go change her clothes in the guest room. Follow where this is going right? An idiot can see this plan a mile away.
Chen has one of the girls offered him a drink, but he ignores her. Well, you know Evil Regina wasnât going to let that moment go by without making a comment that Chen like someone which piqued the interest of Mama Empress. But Chen blew her off and tells her he is leaving. But not so fast, here is where you will be surprised who helps out Evil Regina here. You ready? Princess Jingâan. Yeah, didnât think these two would tag team up on Chen but they did. She spiked his drink that she gave him with an aphrodisiac.
In the guest room MZH was already there waiting for her clothes but an attendant had taken them and given them to Princess Yun Yun diverting LD to follow her because he thought it was MZH. When he found out that it was not her, he was none too happy and basically told Princess Yun Yun to go away.
Chen starts feeling dizzy and a eunuch takes him to the guest room where you guess it, MZH is. Evil Regina suggested to Mama Empress that it is nice outside, why donât they all take a walk in the garden which would create, hmm, an opportunity for everyone to see MZH and Chen together.
But the best laid plans, you know. It backfired big time. Mama Empress goes into the guest room because she hears Chen say, âOutrageous! Am I the emperor or is he the emperor? I just wanted a reply from my subordinate, but he came straight to the door to question me. Will he fight me head-on in the future?â Great cover by Chen! Because LD had swooped in and got MZH out of there asap. He told Chen to play along, and he would explain everything later which he does.
But before anyone got to them, LD heard the conversation that MZH had with Chen. He asks her what type of man he is, the one that she liked. He posed this question to her due to her explaining that someone was trying to set them up for having an affair. She says, âSpeaking of which, actually, Iâve long fallen for him. At that time, you thought I was just a smooth-talking candidate. But heâs different. At first, he didnât have a good impression of me, but he never doubted my talent. He thought that one day, I would be able to gain a foothold in the imperial court. Heâs a nobleman, but heâs very understanding and knows me well. Heâs so powerful, but he never pushes me. I think heâs different from all the other men in the world. Just thinking of him makes me feel that I can pull through whatever difficulties come my way.â Chen realizes who it is. The sadness on his face is so evident.
Both MZH and LD find a quiet spot where he has some softer cookies then the bricks she was trying to eat earlier. He lets her know that he did hear her conversation with Chen. This just brings them even closer. I just love these two. You just canât help it.
The next day, Mr. Whipped finds out what Evil Regina did to MZH and Chen. Man is he ticked big time as he sees Evil Regina walking with Princess Yun Yun. He is not forgiving her this time and man, the look on his face. Whew. I mean she tries holding onto him. I was happy to see he basically was like girl just stop! Clapping!!! When you listen to her talk, honestly you want to slap her. That damn whispery voice. She has no remorse for anything she does and always has an explanation for her blatant bad behavior. She is always talking about how people have to be sacrificedâher pawns. I canât.
Mr. Whipped honestly you will see he is done with her, I mean DONE!!!
MZH decides to marry LD and decorates her place.
Evil Regina is still scheming so she plants another bug in Princess Yun Yunâs ear. So, she complains to the imperial court about MZH and LD. This is like the best moment ever!! LD rolls up like the man he is and says (you all better hold on for this), âOfficial Mu is still single. How has she violated the law? I do have a relationship with Ms. Mu. But I am her man out of wedlock. (Yes!! You heard that right. LD is saying it, Yes, he is hers) Yes. Ms. Mu is unmarried. So which law has she violated?â This man is too much. Love me some LD right now.
Chen of course during all this is really looking uncomfortable because of his feelings for her. But MZH steps up and says her peace too. She also clarifies that she is in a relationship with LD and just because they are not married, they are in a normal relationship. I mean come one, everyone needs to just stay in their lanes. If they needed any further clarification LD said, âImperial Censor, I beg to differ. How is she a disgrace? Iâm the one who has fallen for Official Mu. I know her ambition, so I donât want to bind her wings with marriage. As long as I can stay by Official Muâs side, Iâm happy to be her man out of wedlock. Hello and holler!!! Yes. He said that! Yes, he did!!!
You know that Chen had to do something because everybody was on his back so, he makes him go to the ancestral temple and reflect about himself in front of the ancestors. Like ok and that means all of what. If that is punishment, ok, Iâll take it. MZH got punished too by forfeiting a month of salary. Wow, major punishments here.
Episode 36 â Letâs Get Married â Jealousy â Rejection â A Reveal
MZH and LD head home after all the drama at the imperial court to see the house engulfed in a sea of red. MZH gives LD her satchel that she did herself. You know she used almost all of the cloth to make it. LD and MZH have their own wedding ceremony. Yes!! LD is the man and getting his at last! Go LD, Go LD, go, goâŠ
But there is jealousy in the air. Chen is not happy about these two being together, so he starts making MZHâs life a bit difficult. He calls her to the palace and keeps her there until late. Then he tells her that she will have dinner with him. MZH is like no, I got to go to my man. LD wants to know what the deal is and why she isnât home yet. Yeah, he isnât playing that she is still at the palace with Chen. He goes and picks his girl up. My man. LD is a patient man, but come on, donât be playing with MZH.
Mr. Whipped is still mad at Evil Regina and has snubbed her left and right. Yeah, she comes rolling up to his crib playing seductress. He stops all of her advances until she at last throw him a bone and kisses him. Now, come on, he has been waiting a minute to get some so you think he isnât going to go for this moment with her. Yeah, she thinks she has him in the palm of her hand. I mean she is working him like a fiddle. But guess what? Are you all ready for the shocker? He tells her, are you sure you can handle this. YOU SHOULD LEAVE!!! Yes, he turned down the booty. You believe that. He waited all this time to say, âHell Naw, I donât go like that.â I was cracking up. She was ticked as hell. I mean she wasnât expecting to be rejected. Oh, and he even turned his back on her, so she knew he was not playing. You know he was regretting that moment because I know he was thinking, damn I messed up. Then Evil Reginaâs sidekick maid was instigating her further by saying he should appreciate her coming to him and she said she wasnât getting rid of him like the others because she still has her need of him.
LD and Chen start arguing in the imperial court over the Minister of Personnel in which they want to put Mr. Whipped. LD goes as far as to say that he frequents Xiaoqin Pleasure House. You know this was a set up for him to get this position by Evil Regina, right? But she changed her mind and tells the ministers to back LD and deny Mr. Whipped the position as he is stating. Why you ask. She wants Chen to see the true colors of LD.
So, you know all the ministers follow her plan and back LD. Chen says since everyone collectively agreed with LD then let it be so. But he wasnât done, he told LD that he lost his composure in the imperial court and his salary would be withheld for three years. Seriously!!! Who the hell can go without a salary for three years! I hope he has some money saved up or is using MZH cash flow. Not having a salary for three years is no joke.
LD does ask Chen what he did. He tells him he committed contempt of court, if he said it then he committed it. Well damn. Everyone was looking shocked at his attitude towards LD.
Of course, Evil Regina got the update that LD was chastised at court by the sneaky sidekick maid of her. I canât stand her either. She is in her glory. Then she also reported on Princess Jingâan trying to get with Mr. Whipped and how he is at Xiaoqin Pleasure House all the time.
Now, Evil Regina thinks she is going to fix his ass by being with all these men at Xiaoqin Pleasure House since she knows Mr. Whipped is going to no doubt be there. But guess what? Guess what? I can hardly contain myself. Mr. Whipped had news for her, he tells her that she is in a good mood today and he thinks he shouldnât spoil it. Yep, he rolls out and leaves her. Again, another smack in the face to Evil Regina. Love 30-0 people. Evil Regina is losing. YES! Planned backfired on her. She was pissed and told all the guys to leave. If you think about it, who is playing who. Mr. Whipped is actually whipping her.
Going back to his place, Mr. Whipped is drinking and here comes Princess Jingâan to drink with him too. You know what they say when you drink. Everything you say is the truth. Well, Princess Jingâan tells it all honey. Get ready. She tells him that Evil Regina might look innocent and harmless, but deep down, sheâs ruthless. She tells him that he should stay far away from her. He tells her she is drunk. She tells him that she is not and that during the war at Juma River, 30,000 soldiers from Southern Chen died there. LD almost lost his life, too. She killed them. Evil Regina. Oh snap. Mr. Whip's head pops up big time and he ask her what she said. She told him to ask Jing if he wanted to. Evil Regina colluded with her third brother and killed all of the men.
Man, it gets worse from there. You talk about getting out of a drunk stupor fast. Mr. Whipped was overcome by what she said. Princess Jingâan realized what she said and ran out of there. But he already heard what she said. You know the poem he did with Evil Regina by moonlight? Well, it was no more. He ripped that thing to pieces. I mean he was absolutely crushed because everything he thought was crashing down. Yep, she lied and used you dude. Can you wake up now?
Chen asks Mr. Whipped for advice when you want someone who is already taken (you know he was referring to MZH) what do you do. Oh, this comeback was priceless by him he said, âYou ask the wrong person here, Your Majesty. Iâm afraid I also am in the same dilemma.â How about that?
More fights in the imperial court between LD and Chen over supply money for the army to be ready if Northen Liang attacks. This is a heated debate so much so until Chen tells him to copy the imperial genealogy chart a thousand times and he is not allowed to return to court until he does so. Attitudes between these two is too much.
Episode 37 â Another Attempt â Army - Poison
Here she goes again. Evil Regina makes her way to Mr. Whipâs place. She keeps asking him how she offended him and how she disgraced herself coming to him. Guess what? No one told you to come over to his crib, ok? She thinks it has to do with MZH, but he doesnât answer. He questions her about her path to the throne and if she is going to stick to what they were going to do, and she tell him that she has to sacrifice some pawns. She tells him it is time to wrap up the game. But she needs one more thing from him before the game is over. This woman is too much. I mean she just believes she is all that.
Evil Regina is making her rounds and goes to the ministers that are going to help her take down LD. She provides them with information to take to the assembly tomorrow. The demise of LD is now happening. Chen tells them to arrest him and place him in the dungeon after the ministers produced and state all of the things that the conjured up about LD. MZH tries to stop Chen, but it falls on deaf ears. LD is waiting because he knows they are coming for him.
Evil Regina is bragging to Grandaunt Mama that she is winning and wants the âEvil-erasing sword.â So, fitting for her the name of that sword. But she still continues to tell her nothing. Go GM!!! Evil Regina is like, so you donât want to give it to me, cool, I have other means to get the throne.
Meanwhile the ministers are pressuring Chen. But everything comes to a head when LDâs soldiers come rolling up to the capital and at this moment you feel like it is them telling to let LD go just like Moses told pharaoh to let his people go. But Mr. Whipped convinces Chen to let LD go and talk to the men. Best speech ever to his men, squashes it and they depart.
Chen tells them that LD will die by poison due to the mutiny at the gate and feeling he has more power and control over the army then he does. Say what? Poison? Come on. You all know our man didnât do this. Chen finds a way to tell Evil Regina that he is going to put to his uncle to death. You know if she could have danced, she would of, instead she gets on her knees and tells Chen that she wants to bid LD farewell. Really? Stop playing.
Episode 38 â Death
Evil Regina has to just go revel in her glory, so she goes to see LD in the dungeon carrying the wine too. Chest all puffed up like a peacock and tells him all the evil deeds she has done. No shame in her game. Hell, she is proud of all she did. Watches him as he drinks the wine.
MZH is running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to get some leverage to help her man. Every door is closing. Until they find Grandaunt Mama and she tells her where the Evil-erasing sword is which is her staff, so she races to the dungeon. Only to find the body of LD wrapped and laying in the courtyard on the ground in the rain.
But you know Evil Regina has to live in the moment, she comes sashaying back with umbrella in hand and tells MZH, âSo what if you have the Evil-erasing sword? Liu Yan is dead. Iâm the final victor. Do you know why he died? Until now, do you still think you chose the right path?â Bitch!!!
Then as Evil Regina gloats over top of MZH as she lays on LDâs body, she turns her head to see Mr. Whipped looking at her with so much hatred. He walks away.
Chen dreams about his uncle and when he gave him a sword for his birthday.
Princess Yun Yun after finding out about LDâs death goes crazy. She puts on a red dress and runs through the streets.
MZH has passes out and slept for 3 days. She stays at the place they shared when he left her and reminisces about her time with LD. She discovers the token that he left in a scroll which tells her everything that she needs to know about LD's plan and heads back to the capital. You what that was right?
Finally, finally, the heavenly choir is singing...Mr. Mr. Whipped gets Evil Regina. Yes, he gives in to her at last. Hallelujah! Aren't we all just happy for this man? Come on you all can give up for the brother. He waited a minute for this woman. I was cheeringâŠ
Episode 39 â Nursery Rhyme â Pearls â Another Death - Reunion
We have MZH giving orders to Zhijian and Zhimo because she has to plan out the next moves to counter Evil Regina.
Now, in order for her to have power she needs the seal which Mr. Whipped gets for her from a eunuch. Yep, Evil Regina gets it, and she thinks she is the stuff. Of course, she is stroking Mr. Whipâs ego by saying if he wasnât for him, she wouldnât have it. Are we all screamingâŠUSER!!! He just looks at her as if he is in a daze. She then starts putting on her robes, you know a test run. Mr. Whipped is saying how he canât wait to see her fully dressed in the dragon robes. (rolling my eyes here)
Then Evil Regina goes and meets with the other shady ministers, who you know will die soon enough. Oh, then Mr. Whipped helped her cause even more drama by creating a nursery rhyme that upped the ante for her to get into the emperor position and get Chen out. Zhou thinks he is a shoo-in for nothing happening to him. What an idiot.
True colors come out because Evil Regina had to start taking folks out. She goes to see Princess Jingâan who called her out about herself She told her not to come to gloat about being with Mr. Whipped. And you know Evil Regina is never one for letting someone get one up on her. She starts talking about the pearls she gave her. Come one you all know where she was going with the pearls. Right around girlfriendâs neck so she could choke her and kill her. I thought they were laced with poison. Boy was I wrong. She just was like, I ainât got time for you. I need another pawn, so guess what, you are going to die today. Girl bye. Yep, dead as can be.
Then you have Mr. Whipped who saw the whole thing comes in. Evil Regina asks, âYou saw it. Feeling sorry for her?â As he walks further in seeing all the bloody pearls laying at his feet, âI just feel that itâs a shame about those precious South Seas pearlsâ say what? Did he say he was just worried about the pearls and not the princess. Wow! Then Evil Regina says, (you will die when you hear this) âMy hand hurts.â Excuse me you just choked someone with pearls ya donât think your hand is going to hurt. Then Mr. Whipped, honestly, he is just too much says, âLet me bear all your pain and suffering from now on.â Seriously! Are you for real? How much more are you going to take for one booty call. Geez.
Well, after Princess Jingâan dies, Evil Regina now has everything in place, and it is time to get ready to take over the throne people! I mean she is getting dress to the nines! I mean she is on point with everything. But while she is doing her, we have Chen in the imperial court dealing with all kinds of drama. The scholars are kneeling and shouting that Chen is going to take the city into destruction. Now we start asking about the imperial seal. Guess what? You got it. Itâs gone!!!! And you know who has itâŠEvil Regina. But now it is missing, he needs to abdicate.
But waitâŠwe now are hearing they found the Princess Jing'an's body in the moat. What?
In the meantime, we have Evil Regina getting ready to make her grand entrance like she is Beyonce getting ready to sing in front of thousand with her backup singers, which in this case is her own personal army. Yeah, girlfriend came fully prepared. And is walking like she is on the Victoria Secret runway holding the seal and dragging, yes dragging the Evil-erasing sword. Oh, she was in her moment of glory for sure.
Smackdown was coming yes it was. Everyone was fighting and guess who rolled up in looking like Zorro in his capeâŠyou got LD. He was looking so fly on his horse rearing up in the air. He was like, guess whose house this is. Now everyone better start to steppin back because LD aka Prince Regent is about to tell you all to bend over. Best moment.
Yes!!! LD was doin and doin it well! When he came rolling up into the imperial court, Evil Regina and everyone looked like that got slapped in the face. She was too ticked because now she discovers that Mr. Whipped betrayed her. Oh, and that just doesnât happen to her.
Evil Regina then realizes everything was a performance for her nothing more. I donât think when he slept with her it was but hey, remember he got his. LOL! She never understood that she could have done good. Mr. Whipped finally realized that they really were not on the same path. Hence his betrayal of her.
Episode 40 â Happily, Ever After
Evil Regina was going to stab Chen, but Mr. Whipped stepped in the way and got stabbed. It wasnât that bad, but he pulled it in even deeper and told her that he would take the blame for all her evil deeds. See, whipped until the end and what did it get him. One night, thatâs it. Damn shame.
Anyway, guess what Evil Regina says, âWell done. Well done! You betrayed me first. Iâve trusted you so much for nothing. You said you wouldnât leave me. Itâs all lies. Do you think you can win my love? Like Xue Xiaotang, youâre just a pawn in my hands!â See what I mean. All that Mr. Whipped did, and she still was tripping.
Then you have MZH giving this long-drawn-out speech about Mr. Whipped and how he loved her more than anyone and she will never have a love like that again. No because she is going to die MZH! But you know she isnât even hearing none of that. Girlfriend walks by his body like it is nothing and walks towards the throne. But on her arm is a bracelet which has one bead that she bites into (yep, you got it, poison) and seats on the throne as MZH, LD and Chen look at her. Then the drizzle of blood comes down the side of her mouth. You got it Evil Regina dies on the throne. Well, at least she got to sit on it for a minute, right?
Next, we have LD and MZH sitting down discussing all of his deceptions of being dead and how Chen and he did this to pull Evil Regina out. She tells him donât ever do that again. Love is still in the air.
But we have Chen and MZH meeting as teacher and student again. Chen tells MZH that he wonât see her as a teacher or a student since LD handed in his resignation papers and they will be going to the border. You can see that Chen is visibly upset because he is still carrying that torch for her. Poor guy.
Grandaunt Mama takes the remains of Evil Regina back home with her. Finally, she recovered after all her drama of being paralyzed basically. I know she is glad to get the hell out of the capital.
Zhijian stays and is the guard to Chen while ZM and Juli go with LD and MZH.
Then we see LD and MZH back at their place, snow flying in the air both of them talking about growing old together. But they then go back to capital and both MZH and LD are told that Chen has passed out at their residence. As both of them enter, Chen has prepared a wedding celebration for them.
Chen does announce that they will abolish the rules of marriage. If two people love each other there is no reason why they canât and do their jobs. Two snaps for him. Iâm glad he saw the light on that.
Yes, everyone get ready to smile like a bunch of Cheshire cats as they show the whole ceremony. Everyone is there. But Chen leaves because he doesnât want everyone to feel uncomfortable. You will see his gaze go to the box sitting on the gifts that he has sent. In that box is the money that he was going to give her during the festival but never did. That was sad when you think about it. Chen just was left emptyhanded all around.
The very last scene shows MZH coming into the imperial court wearing a purple uniform and Chen giving her a new position. LD is just smiling away as they both look at each otherâŠ
This was one of the best drama and definitely deserves a higher rating. Superb performances and for PRJ aka Evil Regina to have me dislike her so much, then she did her job and did it well.

Both MZH and LD find a quiet spot where he has some softer cookies then the bricks she was trying to eat earlier. He lets her know that he did hear her conversation with Chen. This just brings them even closer. I just love these two. You just canât help it.
The next day, Mr. Whipped finds out what Evil Regina did to MZH and Chen. Man is he ticked big time as he sees Evil Regina walking with Princess Yun Yun. He is not forgiving her this time and man, the look on his face. Whew. I mean she tries holding onto him. I was happy to see he basically was like girl just stop! Clapping!!! When you listen to her talk, honestly you want to slap her. That damn whispery voice. She has no remorse for anything she does and always has an explanation for her blatant bad behavior. She is always talking about how people have to be sacrificedâher pawns. I canât.
Mr. Whipped honestly you will see he is done with her, I mean DONE!!!
MZH decides to marry LD and decorates her place.
Evil Regina is still scheming so she plants another bug in Princess Yun Yunâs ear. So, she complains to the imperial court about MZH and LD. This is like the best moment ever!! LD rolls up like the man he is and says (you all better hold on for this), âOfficial Mu is still single. How has she violated the law? I do have a relationship with Ms. Mu. But I am her man out of wedlock. (Yes!! You heard that right. LD is saying it, Yes, he is hers) Yes. Ms. Mu is unmarried. So which law has she violated?â This man is too much. Love me some LD right now.
Chen of course during all this is really looking uncomfortable because of his feelings for her. But MZH steps up and says her peace too. She also clarifies that she is in a relationship with LD and just because they are not married, they are in a normal relationship. I mean come one, everyone needs to just stay in their lanes. If they needed any further clarification LD said, âImperial Censor, I beg to differ. How is she a disgrace? Iâm the one who has fallen for Official Mu. I know her ambition, so I donât want to bind her wings with marriage. As long as I can stay by Official Muâs side, Iâm happy to be her man out of wedlock. Hello and holler!!! Yes. He said that! Yes, he did!!!
You know that Chen had to do something because everybody was on his back so, he makes him go to the ancestral temple and reflect about himself in front of the ancestors. Like ok and that means all of what. If that is punishment, ok, Iâll take it. MZH got punished too by forfeiting a month of salary. Wow, major punishments here.
Episode 36 â Letâs Get Married â Jealousy â Rejection â A Reveal
MZH and LD head home after all the drama at the imperial court to see the house engulfed in a sea of red. MZH gives LD her satchel that she did herself. You know she used almost all of the cloth to make it. LD and MZH have their own wedding ceremony. Yes!! LD is the man and getting his at last! Go LD, Go LD, go, goâŠ
But there is jealousy in the air. Chen is not happy about these two being together, so he starts making MZHâs life a bit difficult. He calls her to the palace and keeps her there until late. Then he tells her that she will have dinner with him. MZH is like no, I got to go to my man. LD wants to know what the deal is and why she isnât home yet. Yeah, he isnât playing that she is still at the palace with Chen. He goes and picks his girl up. My man. LD is a patient man, but come on, donât be playing with MZH.
Mr. Whipped is still mad at Evil Regina and has snubbed her left and right. Yeah, she comes rolling up to his crib playing seductress. He stops all of her advances until she at last throw him a bone and kisses him. Now, come on, he has been waiting a minute to get some so you think he isnât going to go for this moment with her. Yeah, she thinks she has him in the palm of her hand. I mean she is working him like a fiddle. But guess what? Are you all ready for the shocker? He tells her, are you sure you can handle this. YOU SHOULD LEAVE!!! Yes, he turned down the booty. You believe that. He waited all this time to say, âHell Naw, I donât go like that.â I was cracking up. She was ticked as hell. I mean she wasnât expecting to be rejected. Oh, and he even turned his back on her, so she knew he was not playing. You know he was regretting that moment because I know he was thinking, damn I messed up. Then Evil Reginaâs sidekick maid was instigating her further by saying he should appreciate her coming to him and she said she wasnât getting rid of him like the others because she still has her need of him.
LD and Chen start arguing in the imperial court over the Minister of Personnel in which they want to put Mr. Whipped. LD goes as far as to say that he frequents Xiaoqin Pleasure House. You know this was a set up for him to get this position by Evil Regina, right? But she changed her mind and tells the ministers to back LD and deny Mr. Whipped the position as he is stating. Why you ask. She wants Chen to see the true colors of LD.
So, you know all the ministers follow her plan and back LD. Chen says since everyone collectively agreed with LD then let it be so. But he wasnât done, he told LD that he lost his composure in the imperial court and his salary would be withheld for three years. Seriously!!! Who the hell can go without a salary for three years! I hope he has some money saved up or is using MZH cash flow. Not having a salary for three years is no joke.
LD does ask Chen what he did. He tells him he committed contempt of court, if he said it then he committed it. Well damn. Everyone was looking shocked at his attitude towards LD.
Of course, Evil Regina got the update that LD was chastised at court by the sneaky sidekick maid of her. I canât stand her either. She is in her glory. Then she also reported on Princess Jingâan trying to get with Mr. Whipped and how he is at Xiaoqin Pleasure House all the time.
Now, Evil Regina thinks she is going to fix his ass by being with all these men at Xiaoqin Pleasure House since she knows Mr. Whipped is going to no doubt be there. But guess what? Guess what? I can hardly contain myself. Mr. Whipped had news for her, he tells her that she is in a good mood today and he thinks he shouldnât spoil it. Yep, he rolls out and leaves her. Again, another smack in the face to Evil Regina. Love 30-0 people. Evil Regina is losing. YES! Planned backfired on her. She was pissed and told all the guys to leave. If you think about it, who is playing who. Mr. Whipped is actually whipping her.
Going back to his place, Mr. Whipped is drinking and here comes Princess Jingâan to drink with him too. You know what they say when you drink. Everything you say is the truth. Well, Princess Jingâan tells it all honey. Get ready. She tells him that Evil Regina might look innocent and harmless, but deep down, sheâs ruthless. She tells him that he should stay far away from her. He tells her she is drunk. She tells him that she is not and that during the war at Juma River, 30,000 soldiers from Southern Chen died there. LD almost lost his life, too. She killed them. Evil Regina. Oh snap. Mr. Whip's head pops up big time and he ask her what she said. She told him to ask Jing if he wanted to. Evil Regina colluded with her third brother and killed all of the men.
Man, it gets worse from there. You talk about getting out of a drunk stupor fast. Mr. Whipped was overcome by what she said. Princess Jingâan realized what she said and ran out of there. But he already heard what she said. You know the poem he did with Evil Regina by moonlight? Well, it was no more. He ripped that thing to pieces. I mean he was absolutely crushed because everything he thought was crashing down. Yep, she lied and used you dude. Can you wake up now?
Chen asks Mr. Whipped for advice when you want someone who is already taken (you know he was referring to MZH) what do you do. Oh, this comeback was priceless by him he said, âYou ask the wrong person here, Your Majesty. Iâm afraid I also am in the same dilemma.â How about that?
More fights in the imperial court between LD and Chen over supply money for the army to be ready if Northen Liang attacks. This is a heated debate so much so until Chen tells him to copy the imperial genealogy chart a thousand times and he is not allowed to return to court until he does so. Attitudes between these two is too much.
Episode 37 â Another Attempt â Army - Poison
Here she goes again. Evil Regina makes her way to Mr. Whipâs place. She keeps asking him how she offended him and how she disgraced herself coming to him. Guess what? No one told you to come over to his crib, ok? She thinks it has to do with MZH, but he doesnât answer. He questions her about her path to the throne and if she is going to stick to what they were going to do, and she tell him that she has to sacrifice some pawns. She tells him it is time to wrap up the game. But she needs one more thing from him before the game is over. This woman is too much. I mean she just believes she is all that.
Evil Regina is making her rounds and goes to the ministers that are going to help her take down LD. She provides them with information to take to the assembly tomorrow. The demise of LD is now happening. Chen tells them to arrest him and place him in the dungeon after the ministers produced and state all of the things that the conjured up about LD. MZH tries to stop Chen, but it falls on deaf ears. LD is waiting because he knows they are coming for him.
Evil Regina is bragging to Grandaunt Mama that she is winning and wants the âEvil-erasing sword.â So, fitting for her the name of that sword. But she still continues to tell her nothing. Go GM!!! Evil Regina is like, so you donât want to give it to me, cool, I have other means to get the throne.
Meanwhile the ministers are pressuring Chen. But everything comes to a head when LDâs soldiers come rolling up to the capital and at this moment you feel like it is them telling to let LD go just like Moses told pharaoh to let his people go. But Mr. Whipped convinces Chen to let LD go and talk to the men. Best speech ever to his men, squashes it and they depart.
Chen tells them that LD will die by poison due to the mutiny at the gate and feeling he has more power and control over the army then he does. Say what? Poison? Come on. You all know our man didnât do this. Chen finds a way to tell Evil Regina that he is going to put to his uncle to death. You know if she could have danced, she would of, instead she gets on her knees and tells Chen that she wants to bid LD farewell. Really? Stop playing.
Episode 38 â Death
Evil Regina has to just go revel in her glory, so she goes to see LD in the dungeon carrying the wine too. Chest all puffed up like a peacock and tells him all the evil deeds she has done. No shame in her game. Hell, she is proud of all she did. Watches him as he drinks the wine.
MZH is running around like a chicken with her head cut off trying to get some leverage to help her man. Every door is closing. Until they find Grandaunt Mama and she tells her where the Evil-erasing sword is which is her staff, so she races to the dungeon. Only to find the body of LD wrapped and laying in the courtyard on the ground in the rain.
But you know Evil Regina has to live in the moment, she comes sashaying back with umbrella in hand and tells MZH, âSo what if you have the Evil-erasing sword? Liu Yan is dead. Iâm the final victor. Do you know why he died? Until now, do you still think you chose the right path?â Bitch!!!
Then as Evil Regina gloats over top of MZH as she lays on LDâs body, she turns her head to see Mr. Whipped looking at her with so much hatred. He walks away.
Chen dreams about his uncle and when he gave him a sword for his birthday.
Princess Yun Yun after finding out about LDâs death goes crazy. She puts on a red dress and runs through the streets.
MZH has passes out and slept for 3 days. She stays at the place they shared when he left her and reminisces about her time with LD. She discovers the token that he left in a scroll which tells her everything that she needs to know about LD's plan and heads back to the capital. You what that was right?
Finally, finally, the heavenly choir is singing...Mr. Mr. Whipped gets Evil Regina. Yes, he gives in to her at last. Hallelujah! Aren't we all just happy for this man? Come on you all can give up for the brother. He waited a minute for this woman. I was cheeringâŠ
Episode 39 â Nursery Rhyme â Pearls â Another Death - Reunion
We have MZH giving orders to Zhijian and Zhimo because she has to plan out the next moves to counter Evil Regina.
Now, in order for her to have power she needs the seal which Mr. Whipped gets for her from a eunuch. Yep, Evil Regina gets it, and she thinks she is the stuff. Of course, she is stroking Mr. Whipâs ego by saying if he wasnât for him, she wouldnât have it. Are we all screamingâŠUSER!!! He just looks at her as if he is in a daze. She then starts putting on her robes, you know a test run. Mr. Whipped is saying how he canât wait to see her fully dressed in the dragon robes. (rolling my eyes here)
Then Evil Regina goes and meets with the other shady ministers, who you know will die soon enough. Oh, then Mr. Whipped helped her cause even more drama by creating a nursery rhyme that upped the ante for her to get into the emperor position and get Chen out. Zhou thinks he is a shoo-in for nothing happening to him. What an idiot.
True colors come out because Evil Regina had to start taking folks out. She goes to see Princess Jingâan who called her out about herself She told her not to come to gloat about being with Mr. Whipped. And you know Evil Regina is never one for letting someone get one up on her. She starts talking about the pearls she gave her. Come one you all know where she was going with the pearls. Right around girlfriendâs neck so she could choke her and kill her. I thought they were laced with poison. Boy was I wrong. She just was like, I ainât got time for you. I need another pawn, so guess what, you are going to die today. Girl bye. Yep, dead as can be.
Then you have Mr. Whipped who saw the whole thing comes in. Evil Regina asks, âYou saw it. Feeling sorry for her?â As he walks further in seeing all the bloody pearls laying at his feet, âI just feel that itâs a shame about those precious South Seas pearlsâ say what? Did he say he was just worried about the pearls and not the princess. Wow! Then Evil Regina says, (you will die when you hear this) âMy hand hurts.â Excuse me you just choked someone with pearls ya donât think your hand is going to hurt. Then Mr. Whipped, honestly, he is just too much says, âLet me bear all your pain and suffering from now on.â Seriously! Are you for real? How much more are you going to take for one booty call. Geez.
Well, after Princess Jingâan dies, Evil Regina now has everything in place, and it is time to get ready to take over the throne people! I mean she is getting dress to the nines! I mean she is on point with everything. But while she is doing her, we have Chen in the imperial court dealing with all kinds of drama. The scholars are kneeling and shouting that Chen is going to take the city into destruction. Now we start asking about the imperial seal. Guess what? You got it. Itâs gone!!!! And you know who has itâŠEvil Regina. But now it is missing, he needs to abdicate.
But waitâŠwe now are hearing they found the Princess Jing'an's body in the moat. What?
In the meantime, we have Evil Regina getting ready to make her grand entrance like she is Beyonce getting ready to sing in front of thousand with her backup singers, which in this case is her own personal army. Yeah, girlfriend came fully prepared. And is walking like she is on the Victoria Secret runway holding the seal and dragging, yes dragging the Evil-erasing sword. Oh, she was in her moment of glory for sure.
Smackdown was coming yes it was. Everyone was fighting and guess who rolled up in looking like Zorro in his capeâŠyou got LD. He was looking so fly on his horse rearing up in the air. He was like, guess whose house this is. Now everyone better start to steppin back because LD aka Prince Regent is about to tell you all to bend over. Best moment.
Yes!!! LD was doin and doin it well! When he came rolling up into the imperial court, Evil Regina and everyone looked like that got slapped in the face. She was too ticked because now she discovers that Mr. Whipped betrayed her. Oh, and that just doesnât happen to her.
Evil Regina then realizes everything was a performance for her nothing more. I donât think when he slept with her it was but hey, remember he got his. LOL! She never understood that she could have done good. Mr. Whipped finally realized that they really were not on the same path. Hence his betrayal of her.
Episode 40 â Happily, Ever After
Evil Regina was going to stab Chen, but Mr. Whipped stepped in the way and got stabbed. It wasnât that bad, but he pulled it in even deeper and told her that he would take the blame for all her evil deeds. See, whipped until the end and what did it get him. One night, thatâs it. Damn shame.
Anyway, guess what Evil Regina says, âWell done. Well done! You betrayed me first. Iâve trusted you so much for nothing. You said you wouldnât leave me. Itâs all lies. Do you think you can win my love? Like Xue Xiaotang, youâre just a pawn in my hands!â See what I mean. All that Mr. Whipped did, and she still was tripping.
Then you have MZH giving this long-drawn-out speech about Mr. Whipped and how he loved her more than anyone and she will never have a love like that again. No because she is going to die MZH! But you know she isnât even hearing none of that. Girlfriend walks by his body like it is nothing and walks towards the throne. But on her arm is a bracelet which has one bead that she bites into (yep, you got it, poison) and seats on the throne as MZH, LD and Chen look at her. Then the drizzle of blood comes down the side of her mouth. You got it Evil Regina dies on the throne. Well, at least she got to sit on it for a minute, right?
Next, we have LD and MZH sitting down discussing all of his deceptions of being dead and how Chen and he did this to pull Evil Regina out. She tells him donât ever do that again. Love is still in the air.
But we have Chen and MZH meeting as teacher and student again. Chen tells MZH that he wonât see her as a teacher or a student since LD handed in his resignation papers and they will be going to the border. You can see that Chen is visibly upset because he is still carrying that torch for her. Poor guy.
Grandaunt Mama takes the remains of Evil Regina back home with her. Finally, she recovered after all her drama of being paralyzed basically. I know she is glad to get the hell out of the capital.
Zhijian stays and is the guard to Chen while ZM and Juli go with LD and MZH.
Then we see LD and MZH back at their place, snow flying in the air both of them talking about growing old together. But they then go back to capital and both MZH and LD are told that Chen has passed out at their residence. As both of them enter, Chen has prepared a wedding celebration for them.
Chen does announce that they will abolish the rules of marriage. If two people love each other there is no reason why they canât and do their jobs. Two snaps for him. Iâm glad he saw the light on that.
Yes, everyone get ready to smile like a bunch of Cheshire cats as they show the whole ceremony. Everyone is there. But Chen leaves because he doesnât want everyone to feel uncomfortable. You will see his gaze go to the box sitting on the gifts that he has sent. In that box is the money that he was going to give her during the festival but never did. That was sad when you think about it. Chen just was left emptyhanded all around.
The very last scene shows MZH coming into the imperial court wearing a purple uniform and Chen giving her a new position. LD is just smiling away as they both look at each otherâŠ
This was one of the best drama and definitely deserves a higher rating. Superb performances and for PRJ aka Evil Regina to have me dislike her so much, then she did her job and did it well.
