Episode 17
LY is still trying to convince her boss that SAA is still the right choice for the show. She is given one more chance to make it right.
SAA gets a security guard to open up the door to Lin Yao's place because he is not answering. They have a meeting with clients. As they are getting ready to open it, Lin Yao opens the door. (He had inadvertently in his sleep knock the phone to the floor.) He asks SAA if she was worried about him. She reminded him of the client meeting. He tells her to come in (but he is looking a bit sick to me) and he almost passes out. You know he has issues with his stomach. They meet with the clients, but Lin Yao is still grabbing his stomach.
SAA gets a phone call that Xinyi fell off the swing. Lin Yao and SAA race to her. They get to the kindergarten, and they tell her they have called an ambulance because Xinyi is not awake yet. Lin Yao carries her to the ambulance and they both go to the hospital. As SAA is standing their Lin Yao's passes out.
Meanwhile, RYM is with Kexin (his assistant) meeting with a client. I like this assistant; she is all about work and that is it. Back at the office everyone is talking about Kexin and how good she is, etc. And here comes Queen B.., SY. She is already for a fight.
Kexin comes back to the office and SY snatches her up and starts interrogating her. She wants to know where RYM is. Why did she come back alone? Where were they at? She told her. It was none of her business because he didn't tell her. She then said she is under no obligation to keep his secrets, but she knows how to keep them. And why didn't he tell her where he was going. Ok, she is putting SY in her place.
At the hospital SAA is told that Xinyi had to get 14 stitches and she will need to stay overnight for observation. With regards to Lin Yao, his has long term gastritis which leads to decreased resistance. As the doctor is finishing up, here comes RYM. SAA ask how he found out about Xinyi, and he told her that he was picking her up because he got off work early. She tells him that she will go home to get a change of clothes and RYM told her that he would wait there until she got back. But not so fast. SY is on the hunt for him.
Here we go! The questions begin. "Where are you?" Why haven't you come back yet?" Ok, so RYM is trying to be evasive and say he has something to do. Now, you know that is not going to fly with this nut job. He tells her to go home on her own. Oh no, why did he say that! SY why is thinking it has to do with his new assistant. He finally tells her that Xinyi has had an accident and that he has to be here for her. And hangs up.
Who is she going to call next? You got it...SAA. She asks SAA why she is still pestering RYM since they are divorced, didn't he give her everything. He gave her the house and the maintenance fee, so why is she still pestering him. If you get a divorce, you still see your ex-husband every day. Divorce for what? SAA finally tells her to stop yelling at her. She tries to explain to her that even though they are divorce that he is still Xinyi's father. Her come back that she is just their child and what can't be broken. She tells her if she can't make a decision a child without a mother or father will die. Say what? She told her to shut up and that she went too far. (Wade is hearing all this too because SY is yelling in the office.)
Again, she tells her that she can raise Xinyi by herself, but RYM wanted to be there. Then she warned her not to involve her child in any adult conversation. Then SY starts again about how he loves her and won't leave her. She is ranting how she is seducing him with their child. Who wants him now? Nobody but you SY! SAA tells her not to call her anymore.
SAA is so annoyed that she doesn't leave the hospital and tells RYM to go to SY. RYM ask what happened. She tells him that SY said that she was trying to seduce him, and that Xinyi had no mother or father and cursed her to die. She told him to leave and that she will take care of Xinyi herself. And she told RYM to tell SY not to harass her again. If she says what she says again about Xinyi that she will not let him see his child again.
RYM is devastated but he leaves telling her to let him know how she is. RYM is ticked and when he gets home, he is mad big time. As usual, SY is chilling watching something on her laptop eating junk. He snatches the laptop and tells her to shut up! She tells him not to talk to her in a loud voice. I can't with her. Now she wants to be an adult. Ok, let see what you got.
SY tells him that he didn't answer any of her calls and why is he tired of her. Who wouldn't be at this point. Here she goes bringing up his assistant again. He tells her not to change the subject. He tells her that SAA and him are divorced, stop pestering her. Then SY brings up why hasn't he told them at the company that he is divorced, and she is his girlfriend, He tells her that he has to watch his image. He is worried about that now. She even tells him that he needs to fire Kexin. RYM is just standing there looking at her like she is crazy. You just figuring this out.
RF and WH are talking about the situation of RYM her brother.
SAA is with Xinyi who finally wakes up. She goes down to see Lin Yao and the doctor is there. He tells them that he might have flu symptoms. She asks if both Xinyi can be close so she can check on them both. You know Lin Yao is in his glory right now. Both Lin Yao and Xinyi have to get their injections. Lin Yao comes to visit Xinyi with a big bear. They have a cute exchange.
LY is overhearing the employees talk about how she was fierce in her last job. She is laid back and they are not sure she can do this job.
Lin Yao's mother comes to visit him at the hospital while he is outside with SAA. His mother starts teasing him about SAA knowing that her son likes her.
LY talks to her boss, and she understand about how she was previously in her role, but she is backing her in what she is doing.
RYM goes to WH to help him. He gets WH and RF to go with him to the hospital so he can see Xinyi. SAA goes to see Lin Yao along with RF who brings him a fruit basket from the colleagues at work. SAA takes dumplings to him and RF you can see has a problem with that. When SAA goes to get chopsticks, you can tell that RF does not like what she sees is happening between her and Lin Yao. He makes reference to how good the dumplings are and how he had them before. RF is so not happy. You know RF wants her to get back with her brother. It's not happening. I can see her and SAA getting into it about Lin Yao.
RYM and SAA have a discussion about Xinyi, and she basically tells him that you have to control SY, or you just won't be seeing your daughter. He then tells her not to be so anxious to find a father for Xinyi. And her comeback, "We are divorced and even if I start a new relationship, that is her personal problem. You have no right to ask." Yes SAA, say so!
Now, we have another problem. Why did RYM promise to see Xinyi when he knew he had an event to go to for the company. You know SY is going to have issues and create drama. So, he tells his daughter that he will get a cake and they will blow out the candle. He is leaving work early for all this. You see where this is going already don't you?
RF finally admits that she doesn't see things going back to how they were. What a revelation for her. We knew that how long ago.
RYM is paying the bill and who does he see, demon seed SY. Coming in bringing candy and a doll. He asks her what she is doing there. She said she was there to see Xinyi because she is sick. He tells her that it is inappropriate for her to be there, and she is acting stupid that she doesn't understand why. RYM asks her if she has forgotten what she said on the phone to SAA. He tells her how dare she come there and drags her out.
SY tells him that she said that she was going to die every day but that she still is alive and well. She said whatever I say is what I say. Wow! I'm not an immortal now, RYM, tries to explain to her that what she said any parent would be sad and upset. He told her in the future that she is not allowed to be around SAA or Xinyi. That Xinyi doesn't need anything from her because she has SAA, him, RF and WH. Oh, and then she starts the guilt. She just wanted to take a peek at her just to see how it was to be surrounded by people who love you. Just stop, please! How many times is she going to go there.
I think SAA definitely has doubts that RYM will make it. And I know he isn't either because SY will see to that.
Getting in the car to go to the event, SY sees the cake and gifts in the back seat. She asks why there are so many gifts. He tells her some are for the company activity, and some are for Xinyi. She said that she can pick one and of course, she wants the cake. He tells her that is for Xinyi. Well, she starts complaining that they have the house, car, do they still need a cake? Again, she is putting herself up against a 5-year-old. Well, she acts about the age sometimes, so go figure. She tells him that he has to give her a gift. RYM tells her he just bought her jewelry last month.
At the event, Wade goes around and does a video of each person saying something about the anniversary and skips over SY. Oh, that wasn't good. Snide remarks were made by SY when talking with Chen that if she does better, she would best Kexin. RYM looks so embarrassed.
Lin Yao sends a cake and gifts for Xinyi birthday. Xinyi says that he must be alone.
Kexin ask RYM to dance with her and so it begins....
Episode 18
Kexin asks RYM to dance. SY is drinking and glaring at them. Now Chen (old sly dog) is watching what is going to happen, because he knows it is, about to unfold.
RF arrives and ask WH who is RYM dancing with. He tells her SY nemesis, Kexin, the new assistant.
SY has had enough and goes and interrupts the dance between RYM and Kexin. Kexin was so nice, and she was like, I'm going to get something to eat while RYM dragged SY out of the hall. Everyone is watching. Chen is just rolling his eyes.
RYM gets her outside and tells her that he will call her a designated driver and she can go home. She starts tripping and tells him that she isn't going home. She tells him that he just wants her to go so that he can go and eat cake with his ex-wife. She pushes him out of the way and gets the cake from the back seat and tells him that she will let him eat cake and smashes it on the ground. All the while saying, "I'll let you eat cake." RYM was so mad that he pushed her against the car door. As RYM stood there all that he could think about was his promise to Xinyi. Again, he had no follow through for her all because of SY.
SAA waited and finally she cut a piece of cake and took it over to Lin Yao. He tells her the meaning of dumplings and they are a symbol of change. He wants her to think about that in the future. He confesses that he likes her. She thanks him and tells him that she is not ready. He told her he knows it is not the right time to think about it, she has a lot of things that she wants to do and not to concern herself about his feelings. He just wanted to confess his love to her. OK!!! Go my man, Lin Yao!!! Cue the fireworks. Yes, they had fireworks right outside his hospital window. And he pulled her into a hug as they watched. Did you all just sigh?
The next day Chen took RYM on a bike ride and guess what...HE FIRED HIM!!!! Yes, at last he lost his job. He told him his personal life and everyone from work to the boardroom knew what was happening with him. He told him that he was doing him a favor firing him because this was the only way he would get rid of SY.
Chen was on a roll. The next day, he FIRED SY!!! I can't stop laughing! He told her that her work was mediocre, and she did not work up to standard. WH chastised RYM and told him that he now has hit rock bottom. He needs to get rid of SY. He told him that it is his retribution. SY was hearing the whole exchange.
LY is sick and SAA makes her some green tea and they talk about the show and what happened. She explained that she didn't like how it wasn't real, the fake molds and all. LY got it and said she would fix things.
RYM is at the apartment looking for a new place to stay because where they are at is too expensive. But here comes SY with bags of designer stuff. RYM flips out and tells her didn't he ask her to be frugal. She just doesn't get it and wants to know why she should. He tells her that he got fired. She told him that she bought so many things because it makes her happy. She doesn't care if they both got fired, they can find something again. Huh? That isn't easy after you ruined, with his own help mind you, his reputation. He begs her to be more frugal and he will pay for her credit card. She tells him to take the house back. They have another moment where he just looks like he could eat her up! Goodness. He tells her a number is wrong. She says I can only do one thing with my heart, and it's easy for me to make mistakes when I'm distracted.
LY has SAA come in to do another show. She also has Xinyi with her. It starts off shaky, but she does good.
SY is watching her video as RYM comes home. He asks SY to help him do the laundry because his shirt collars have dark rings. She said call the dry cleaners to do them. She isn't his nanny. You reap what you sow. Another tirade about him coming home late and looking depressed. She said there are people waiting for you at home that are hungry. And is something wrong with your hands. Yeah, I would let her starve and cut up that credit card too.
RYM tries to tell her to make something of herself. She tells him that he knows that she can't cook. Best you learn. You can read, can't you? He again tries to reason with her and tell her there are a lot of things going on. She has to learn to adjust. He tells her he will take takeout and to pack her bags. He found a new place to live because it is too expensive there. He has no income right now and they have to move. She tells him that she has suffered too, and she doesn't want too. He is moving next week. He told her if she doesn't want to live like that any longer than she can leave at any time.
RF and WH are considering having a baby (I find these two boring.)
SAA sells another car to a woman who is a fan of hers and ask for a picture. Lin Yao calls her into the office. He gives her, her performance checklist which didn't include a bonus due to her short schedule. But she did get a hefty commission.
Xinyi is acting up at school. SAA is blaming herself, but her mother has not been telling her that the school called about her misbehaving. She is going to go see someone which is Lin Yao's mother, and she doesn't know it.
Teaser Episode 20 RYM gets a job. RYM sees SAA and Lin Yao together. WH asks RYM if he still has feelings for SAA and why is he punishing himself. RYM was so mad that he pushed her against the car door. As RYM stood there all that he could think about was his promise to Xinyi. Again, he had no follow through for her all because of SY.
SAA waited and finally she cut a piece of cake and took it over to Lin Yao. He tells her the meaning of dumplings and they are a symbol of change. He wants her to think about that in the future. He confesses that he likes her. She thanks him and tells him that she is not ready. He told her he knows it is not the right time to think about it, she has a lot of things that she wants to do and not to concern herself about his feelings. He just wanted to confess his love to her. OK!!! Go my man, Lin Yao!!! Cue the fireworks. Yes, they had fireworks right outside his hospital window. And he pulled her into a hug as they watched. Did you all just sigh?
The next day Chen took RYM on a bike ride and guess what...HE FIRED HIM!!!! Yes, at last he lost his job. He told him his personal life and everyone from work to the boardroom knew what was happening with him. He told him that he was doing him a favor firing him because this was the only way he would get rid of SY.
Chen was on a roll. The next day, he FIRED SY!!! I can't stop laughing! He told her that her work was mediocre, and she did not work up to standard. Wait, the best part, there was problems with emotional control. Ya think! Of course, she argued. But he asked her if she ever had lunch with a female employee. He knew about what she did to LY. She asked him if RYM knew, and he said he was fired too! You know she was worried about him working there and his assistant.
WH chastised RYM and told him that he now has hit rock bottom. He needs to get rid of SY. He told him that it is his retribution. SY was hearing the whole exchange.
LY is sick and SAA makes her some green tea and they talk about the show and what happened. She explained that she didn't like how it wasn't real, the fake molds and all. LY got it and said she would fix things.
RYM is at the apartment looking for a new place to stay because where they are at is too expensive. But here comes SY with bags of designer stuff. RYM flips out and tells her didn't he ask her to be frugal. She just doesn't get it and wants to know why she should. He tells her that he got fired. She told him that she bought so many things because it makes her happy. She doesn't care if they both got fired, they can find something again. Huh? That isn't easy after you ruined, with his own help mind you, his reputation. He begs her to be more frugal and he will pay for her credit card. She tells him to take the house back. She tells him no matter what he has to take responsibility for her or accept his retribution. Hint: I heard your conversation.
SAA is working and Lin Yao ask her why she hasn't gone. She says she needs to get this done because she promised tomorrow to build a castle with Xinyi. He offers to help. Fireworks go off. And SAA says is not Chinese New Year or a holiday. Lin Yao says maybe someone wanted to remind someone how beautiful fireworks are. They have another moment where he just looks like he could eat her up! Goodness. He tells her a number is wrong. She says I can only do one thing with my heart, and it's easy for me to make mistakes when I'm distracted.
LY has SAA come in to do another show. She also has Xinyi with her. It starts off shaky, but she does good.
SY is watching her video as RYM comes home. He asks SY to help him do the laundry because his shirt collars have dark rings. She said call the dry cleaners to do them. She isn't his nanny. You reap what you sow. Another tirade about him coming home late and looking depressed. She said there are people waiting for you at home that are hungry. And is something wrong with your hands. Yeah, I would let her starve and cut up that credit card too.
RYM tries to tell her to make something of herself. She tells him that he knows that she can't cook. Best you learn. You can read, can't you? He again tries to reason with her and tell her there are a lot of things going on. She has to learn to adjust. He tells her he will take takeout and to pack her bags. He found a new place to live because it is too expensive there. He has no income right now and they have to move. She tells him that she has suffered too, and she doesn't want too. He is moving next week. He told her if she doesn't want to live like that any longer than she can leave at any time.
RF and WH are considering having a baby (I find these two boring.)
SAA sells another car to a woman who is a fan of hers and ask for a picture. Lin Yao calls her into the office. He gives her, her performance checklist which didn't include a bonus due to her short schedule. But she did get a hefty commission.
Xinyi is acting up at school. SAA is blaming herself, but her mother has not been telling her that the school called about her misbehaving. She is going to go see someone which is Lin Yao's mother, and she doesn't know it.

SY goes back to SAA house and says she is back.

Lin Yao jumps in and calls lawyers and give evidence and tell them that SAA and Xinyi are the victims.
RYM tells SY she is selfish and scary, and he doesn't want to spend another minute with her.
