I still cannot like Dong Ni. She is just too much drama. She is also bullies people and she knows it. She wants everything her way or no way. So childish. No one can seem to get through to her. I mean, she gets in Xi Jue's relationships and now that he said about moving to Beijing, she is telling him about him not leaving home. I mean just like Jiang Yi said, does everything have to fall on him? When does he get to have a life?

So much going on...
We got rid of the Chairman. Dojin and Hae Soo worked together, and he is in jail. Pyo Jae and Kyojin's mother worked together too. They brought down Dojin by saying he emblezzed money and was of course all set up by Pyo Jae just as he was getting to say how Hatch was doing fake experiments and how Red died.
I don't know who the worse pairing is: Pyo Jae and the Chairman or Kyojin's mother. She is something else. She will do anything for Kyojin. I cannot understand why she is so insistent on him having a company that he adamantly has told her he does not want. She just needs to run it which she did say she would until he is ready to take over. Now, he she is threatening him with what she knows about HT but that didn't stop him from going to go find HT's brother and Sujeong.
Sung Chan followed the truck that had Dr. Kang aka Sujeong in it and found the secret lab that Pyo Jae has been doing human experimentation. He figured out everything. Eye patch called Pyo Jae who came and offered him another position in taking over the experimentation, but he is not answering. Who is this guy? He seems to be everywhere.
HT of course is fine and knows everything that is going on around her. Her, Hae Soo and Kyojin are all working together. HT gave Sung Chan a watch that is wiretapped and she can hear all the conversations. They decide to set him up by giving the lab a fake alarm. Sung Chan calls Pyo Jae and he tells him what is going on, so he tells him to blow up the lab.
Kyojin knocked out Sung Chan. He goes into the underground lab and finds HT's brother and Sujeong, they were ready to leave until Sujeong said she had to get the files. Sung Chan locked the doors and detonates the explosives, just as HT gets there.
Now, we know that HT's brother, Kyojin and Sujeong all survived the blast of the underground lab underneath the temple. I am just waiting for them to walk out.
How many times is Hae Soo going to be chocked by Pyo Jae? He is always choking that woman.
Now Pyo Jae is president, how are they going to take him down?

I have to say Pyo Jae, and the Chairman are neck and neck bringing on the ruthlessness! Who is going to win this battle? Both have info on each other so it is just a waiting game on who will have to use it first.
Now we all knew she was faking the whole not remembering anything but wasn't it strange how she just jumped right in front of Pyo Jae when Hae Soo shot? It was like she knew she was going to shoot at that time. She said she was going to go get a bottle of wine, yet she was carrying no bottle. Did that give her time to call Hae Soo? Did they plan this, and she really didn't think HT would stop the bullet from hitting Pyo Jae? Hence her look of surprise. It looked suspicious to me how she just appeared.
Since Pyo Jae is so meticulous in everything he does, it is a wonder that he did not erase the photos on his daughter's phone in case HT remembered something. But he might have left them to test her too. And what about HT's brother? Didn't they say something about taking him to Room 6?

They showed us a weak ass OK-corral fight scene where Lue was like the man of steel where not one bullet hit him. Oh, and let's carry around a canister that you can roll out for a smoke; and let's not forget to have the silver guns that you shot the barrels that explode.
Then you become "the shadow" that you can disappear and reappear to take out your enemies. And we definitely cannot leave out a fight scene on the bridge where the man with the knife sliced Lue several times but again, Lue is the man of steel until he doesn't bleed.
And while all of this is happening, can we bring in the notorious Scooby Doo Team to do what? Oh, go get Ken who is chilling out after his night of fun with Lue aka Din. As they bang on the door until he wakes up from his blissful slumber only to see in his amazement that Lue is gone. Well, I guess that was one night we won't forget...that shower curtain? Ok, you all know about that...need I digress.
Jump in the "Scooby Doo car" everyone let's go and save Lue! Now, Ken has really said nothing at all at this point. The next thing we know where he finally speaks is at the lake and he see Lue with the gun and screams., "NOOOO." Which was an utter waste because we knew Lue would shoot!
Fast forward to find out that Sai is going to get married on the 7th month on the 7th day. Let us all remember what that was about and look at Ken's face as he has a moment. Basically, that is it. What a wasted episode. Hell, you could have told us this last week. They wasted time telling us about gf being put in jail. Why did we care? We needed more Lue and Ken time.
Throw us a bone and let's wait past the credits to show Ken boarding a plane...I cannot!!!
So now they are saying there is a Chains of Heart Season 2 in the works but no release date. You know all of us here will be back to see what happens. Till then...
Dong Ni, Dong Ni, gurl can you please stop!!!! Now, she thinks Jiang Yi and Fang Jinghui conspired together to get the birth certificate. Little did they know that Dong Ni's mother ask Nan Yi to take it which she did. Dong Ni finds out there is nothing she can do to win the divorce from Fang Jinghui. He holds ALL the cards. So, what does she do? She decides to trap Jiang Yi and Fang Jinghui to show they have been having an affair. Which we all know didn't exist. But she wants to prove they conspired about the birth certificate.
Dong Ni is really too much. She is telling Nan Yi not to trust Jiang Yi because she took the birth certificate, and she is going to show her. Nan Yi wanted to tell her she took it, but she doesn't. Dong Ni gets a photographer, gets Fang Jinghui locked out of his room, to which he goes to Jiang Yi's room because the locksmith won't be there for 2-3 hours. Sends champagne to the room. But little does she know that Jiang Yi figures out what she is trying to do. Catch Fang Jinghui cheating to turn the divorce case more positive for her. She just doesn't want to stop! Well, that didn't fare so well at all. FJ leaves the room and walks around outside.
Nan Yi finally tells Xi Jue the deal of what Dong Ni is up too. He goes and gets Jiang Yi tells her he loves her and vice versa and leaves with her. All the while, from the balcony Dong Ni sees and is fuming. She feels that she has been slapped by both of them.
This is one woman will never learn. Even when she acts, again like she is conceding, she still tries to turn the tables in her favor and fails miserably.
It so sad that she is going to lose custody of her son. She just doesn't want to compromise at all.
After watching this drama up to episode 18, I just do not like Dong Ni. There is such dysfunction in this family! They all have issues. I cannot stand the complacency of XiJue. I get it that he loves Don Ni and Nan Yi but I agree with Jiang Yi. I would have dropped him too. He will never choose her over his family. After three years he finally tells her he loves her only for her to return his love basically back to him and say they should not even be friends or see each other again because of this. Being always on call for Dong Ni and Nan Yi. Again, I agree but to see Xi Jue just so accepting of what she says shows how he always has been when confronted. Just accept and move on, it wasn't meant to be.
Dong Ni clearly has issues that stem deep from what has happen growing up particularly with her family. She went through seeing violence in her parents' marriage which if this was the example, she was shown what is marriage, then that is why her current marriage is failing miserably but not just that alone. She truly doesn't really know what love is, with her cousins yes, but with anyone else that is debatable.
Then not knowing if her father is her father weighed heavily on her, but I do not think it was fair for Xi Jue to take that away from her when she could have known. Who was he to tell her not too? It was ok to suggest it, but he was adamant to tell her not to do so and she didn't. Knowing is what was the key element that gave her a sense of purpose. So, what does she do next, she marries Fang Jinghui.
She has no trust whatsoever. It takes two and I do not believe that Fang Jinghui is guiltless in all that has transpired in their marriage. He by all accounts has tried to rectify to her in giving her all his shares, giving her a diamond ring, letting her spend money as much as she wants, but this is all material things...she needs someone to trust and love and Fang Jinghui failed and that is why she is cutting him off. But what he is doing is a little too late. He should have done better for all his bravdo he puts on when talking to Xi Jue.
Dong Ni loves to embellish her truth, notice I said "her" truth. When Fang Jinghui asks her who Xue Bei was, she just clammed up. He was willing to take her with them to Germany and raise her as his own. But she could not open up to him. She couldn't even tell Xi Jue about Xue Bei, again, her trust only goes so far.
But I guess Xue Bei summed it up best when it was thundering outside.."only a lying child is afraid of thunder."

Get ready...I have watched the first 6 episodes and will attach links to see upcoming spoilers. Lots of spoilers if you choose not to read on.
As we all know Mysterious Love concluded on a happy vibe with Li Teng and Ruan Nian getting married. There is no connection that I have seen within the first 6 episodes to show that these seasons link. Only thing that is the same is the ML and FL.
Now, as someone has already mentioned this does give "My Lethal Man" vibe. Some comparisons: - Tie always seem to be used - Lighter, yep LJY is afraid of the dark - Major car chase in the first episode - Twin flower story, sound familiar - Both can fight - New is an umbrella which LJY can work.
I'm using breakdown of initials: Lu Jin Yan (LJY) - ML Xi Xi/An Yue - FL Ding Bae Fei (DBF) - Friend to An Yue growing up and assistant to Tian Sui and likes her. Jiang Tian Cheng (JTC) - Friend and confidante to LJY and likes Tian Sui.
Episode 1 - Car chase and the car which is carrying XiXi goes into the water with LJY in close pursuit. But we knew that LJY is going to save her. XiXi (now An Yue) wakes up and now has no memory of who she is. She doesn't even know her father. But she is told by her manager, Tian Sui that she has to do this. Well, she learns the choreography like that. Meets her nemesis, Xu Mengyun. She sets a trap two-fold. 1) She messes with the audio, which she fixes her and sings live and 2) she has someone shoot something into the light, which LJY slides across the floor and covers her taking a piece of glass in the back. The lights come back up and no one is the wiser.
Episode 2 - LJY is investigating his father's accident. He has the key which he was told by the doctor was found in his father's stomach which he is trying to find what it opens in his father's study. It goes into a secret room covered with photos that his father took of XiXi, the daughter of Yongyu Capital. He is trying to figure out what she had to do with this father's accident. He needs to get close to her, so he becomes XiXi's bodyguard. So JTC has to wipe out his pass association with Gu Cheng's information and create a new identity that has nothing to do with Gu Donglei so he can get into the Xu family. New Name: Lu Jinyan, Gold Medal Bodyguard. Xu Mengyun tries to embarrass An Yue at the cooking competition only to get upstaged by a friend from her home, Ding Bei Fan. He is aware of who she really is and does not know her as XiXi but An Yue.
Episode 3 - XiXi (An Yue) father is trying to understand how DBF can know An Yue if he has always had a watchful eye on her since she was born. An Yue passes a note to DBF via a piece of candy which is a cell number. She wants him to take her back to where she grew up and that may jog her memory. In order to meet him, she tells LJY that she is on her period and needs him to go buy "that thing" to which he whips out a pad from his pocket. Oh, along with aspirin. What man has that in his pocket? This bodyguard. Full service. Hilarious.
She finally manages to get away, so she thought only to have him follow her because her father was also in hot pursuit to get her. She learns about how she grows up and has some flashbacks of herself and her mother in the boat they lived in.
An Yue does feel a presence when she and LJY are standing and buying a coral bracelet. Which looks like XiXi or is it her mother.
Episode 4 - Going back into the boat that An Yue grew up, she remembers that she hid a cell phone in the toilet. She went to look and there was one there. An Yue and LJY shoot a music video which is steamy to say the least. An Yue takes off along the beach and after the music video and has more flashbacks of her mother. LJY takes her to the movies and tells her this is where his father took him growing up to just get away. Meanwhile we have BDF starting to like Tian Sui.
JTC and BDF both go to the same flower shop to buy flower unbeknownst to them that they are buying them for the same person...Tian Sui. Once they both find out, BDF tells JTC that he wants to compete fairly to have her be his girlfriend. He agrees. But BDF takes the upper hand in the competition when he finds out that Tian Sui is looking for assistant and he gets the position.
When An Yue is going in for a meeting someone decides to throw a drink on her, but LJY is one step ahead with the umbrella he always carries and opens it up before she gets anything on her.
Episode 5 - Tian Sui is coming in the building and she sees "XiXi" in a wheelchair but turns around and sees XiXi. She talks to her about being her manager. But after she leaves "XiXi' slaps her assistant, and it goes viral. They can't understand the change in personality. LJY and An Yue meet in the garden and talk seductively to become allies. She hands him back his bug. Tian Sui wants to handle the negative press by making LJY and An Yue a "real couple" since they are media darlings. LJY disagrees.
Enter an actor to be her "boyfriend." LJY is jealous big time. They go to the park to shoot their "couple" scene on roller skates but An Yue starts to fall and LJY comes in to save her. Only to get reprimand by the producer that they are not shooting an action film.
Now this was funny, it begins to rain and LJY goes to get his umbrella. Fake boyfriend gets his umbrella sliced by LJY so she could only use his umbrella because "fake boyfriends" was cut up when he opened it. Talk about jealous. Then she was reading the script and there was a kissing scene. LJY told her he needed to know when the rehearsal would take place so he could plan the security in advance. Too funny. Jealous much!
Meanwhile fake boyfriend had made a plan to come to An Yue's hotel room to practice the scene. Didn't happen. But LJY wasn't having that. Backed her up against the door...while fake boyfriend is ringing the doorbell to come in. Whew! She told him that she was tired, and she would see him in the morning...ok!!!
Episode 6 - LJY has one month to convince An Yue to have a full body examination. He asks JTC to check out the medical team and what is this examination about. An Yue finds out information that LJY only approached her to get close to XiXi so she asks him to take her back to the movie theater where she wanted to get his response.
They leave the theater and its dark and LJY takes out his lighter because he is afraid of the dark.He tells her that he never thought of her as Xi Xi substitute. They go to the Ghost Market where she asks the man to make her a sugar figurine of a star. They are holding hands and being a couple. Too cute. He tells her the figurine is melting. He bits it. She gets on her tiptoes and kisses him. He goes in for a deeper kiss after that and the lights come on in the market. They smile at each other.
Tian Sui gets a day off because BDF takes her cell phone away from her. They enjoy a day on the lake. Meanwhile, JTC is trying to get a hold of her and cannot. He has a tracker on her phone and finds her with BDF. He goes to leave but she has her phone back and calls him. She hears his phone, and he knows he is busted and goes over to both of them. BDF tells him that he didn't answer her question honestly if he came there for her. The reason why is he has approximately one year because he has hyperplasia caused by shrapnel which would compress on his brain's main artery, and it would rupture. There is little chance of success for this surgery, but he needs to make a decision and soon. So, I believe he will give up pursuing Tian Su because of this.
Doing more shooting of An Yue and her fake boyfriend...they are doing a scene where he eats cotton candy which means it is close to kissing. Well, jealous LJY is playing darts and shoots one right between him and the cotton candy that An Yue is holding. An Yue smiles because she knows he is jealous. He wins tons of stuff animals.
An Yue has major flashbacks after they drive to the scene of the crash but doesn't tell LJY.
Hot Moments - When An Yue wonders if her and XiXi were twins or if she had plastic surgery. She asks LJY to check her face and see if there are any signs of plastic surgery. Pinch her nose and chin. Is there any prosthetics. This is all the while both each are staring intently into each other eyes. - The whole music video in episode 4 - The was a moment that someone capture with LJY swinging her around in her arms which went viral on social media. They wanted them to be a couple. - An Yue and LJY getting caught in her father's study behind the curtain. When he opens it up, he finds LJY shirt open, and they are in a compromising position. - Up against the door in episode 5. - The Ghost Market in episode 6 - sugar figurine!!! - Cotton Candy in episode 6. I like sugar figurines more...lol!

Nan Yi finally tells Xi Jue the deal of what Dong Ni is up too. He goes and gets Jiang Yi tells her he loves her and vice versa and leaves with her. All the while, from the balcony Dong Ni sees and is fuming. She feels that she has been slapped by both of them.
This is one woman will never learn. Even when she acts, again like she is conceding, she still tries to turn the tables in her favor and fails miserably.
It so sad that she is going to lose custody of her son. She just doesn't want to compromise at all.
Dong Ni clearly has issues that stem deep from what has happen growing up particularly with her family. She went through seeing violence in her parents' marriage which if this was the example, she was shown what is marriage, then that is why her current marriage is failing miserably but not just that alone. She truly doesn't really know what love is, with her cousins yes, but with anyone else that is debatable.
Then not knowing if her father is her father weighed heavily on her, but I do not think it was fair for Xi Jue to take that away from her when she could have known. Who was he to tell her not too? It was ok to suggest it, but he was adamant to tell her not to do so and she didn't. Knowing is what was the key element that gave her a sense of purpose. So, what does she do next, she marries Fang Jinghui.
She has no trust whatsoever. It takes two and I do not believe that Fang Jinghui is guiltless in all that has transpired in their marriage. He by all accounts has tried to rectify to her in giving her all his shares, giving her a diamond ring, letting her spend money as much as she wants, but this is all material things...she needs someone to trust and love and Fang Jinghui failed and that is why she is cutting him off. But what he is doing is a little too late. He should have done better for all his bravdo he puts on when talking to Xi Jue.
Dong Ni loves to embellish her truth, notice I said "her" truth. When Fang Jinghui asks her who Xue Bei was, she just clammed up. He was willing to take her with them to Germany and raise her as his own. But she could not open up to him. She couldn't even tell Xi Jue about Xue Bei, again, her trust only goes so far.
But I guess Xue Bei summed it up best when it was thundering outside.."only a lying child is afraid of thunder."

I have in my spoiler (go down in the strand) broken down the episodes from 1-6 along with a link to the next previews of episodes 7-10.
As we all know Mysterious Love concluded on a happy vibe with Li Teng and Ruan Nian getting married. There is no connection that I have seen within the first 6 episodes to show that these seasons link. Only thing that is the same is the ML and FL.
Now, as someone has already mentioned this does give "My Lethal Man" vibe. Some comparisons:

Lu Jin Yan (LJY) - ML
Xi Xi/An Yue - FL
Ding Bae Fei (DBF) - Friend to An Yue growing up and assistant to Tian Sui and likes her.
Jiang Tian Cheng (JTC) - Friend and confidante to LJY and likes Tian Sui.
Episode 1 - Car chase and the car which is carrying XiXi goes into the water with LJY in close pursuit. But we knew that LJY is going to save her. XiXi (now An Yue) wakes up and now has no memory of who she is. She doesn't even know her father. But she is told by her manager, Tian Sui that she has to do this. Well, she learns the choreography like that. Meets her nemesis, Xu Mengyun. She sets a trap two-fold. 1) She messes with the audio, which she fixes her and sings live and 2) she has someone shoot something into the light, which LJY slides across the floor and covers her taking a piece of glass in the back. The lights come back up and no one is the wiser.
Episode 2 - LJY is investigating his father's accident. He has the key which he was told by the doctor was found in his father's stomach which he is trying to find what it opens in his father's study. It goes into a secret room covered with photos that his father took of XiXi, the daughter of Yongyu Capital. He is trying to figure out what she had to do with this father's accident. He needs to get close to her, so he becomes XiXi's bodyguard. So JTC has to wipe out his pass association with Gu Cheng's information and create a new identity that has nothing to do with Gu Donglei so he can get into the Xu family. New Name: Lu Jinyan, Gold Medal Bodyguard. Xu Mengyun tries to embarrass An Yue at the cooking competition only to get upstaged by a friend from her home, Ding Bei Fan. He is aware of who she really is and does not know her as XiXi but An Yue.
Episode 3 - XiXi (An Yue) father is trying to understand how DBF can know An Yue if he has always had a watchful eye on her since she was born. An Yue passes a note to DBF via a piece of candy which is a cell number. She wants him to take her back to where she grew up and that may jog her memory. In order to meet him, she tells LJY that she is on her period and needs him to go buy "that thing" to which he whips out a pad from his pocket. Oh, along with aspirin. What man has that in his pocket? This bodyguard. Full service. Hilarious.
She finally manages to get away, so she thought only to have him follow her because her father was also in hot pursuit to get her. She learns about how she grows up and has some flashbacks of herself and her mother in the boat they lived in.
An Yue does feel a presence when she and LJY are standing and buying a coral bracelet. Which looks like XiXi or is it her mother.
Episode 4 - Going back into the boat that An Yue grew up, she remembers that she hid a cell phone in the toilet. She went to look and there was one there. An Yue and LJY shoot a music video which is steamy to say the least. An Yue takes off along the beach and after the music video and has more flashbacks of her mother. LJY takes her to the movies and tells her this is where his father took him growing up to just get away. Meanwhile we have BDF starting to like Tian Sui.
JTC and BDF both go to the same flower shop to buy flower unbeknownst to them that they are buying them for the same person...Tian Sui. Once they both find out, BDF tells JTC that he wants to compete fairly to have her be his girlfriend. He agrees. But BDF takes the upper hand in the competition when he finds out that Tian Sui is looking for assistant and he gets the position.
When An Yue is going in for a meeting someone decides to throw a drink on her, but LJY is one step ahead with the umbrella he always carries and opens it up before she gets anything on her.
Episode 5 - Tian Sui is coming in the building and she sees "XiXi" in a wheelchair but turns around and sees XiXi. She talks to her about being her manager. But after she leaves "XiXi' slaps her assistant, and it goes viral. They can't understand the change in personality. LJY and An Yue meet in the garden and talk seductively to become allies. She hands him back his bug. Tian Sui wants to handle the negative press by making LJY and An Yue a "real couple" since they are media darlings. LJY disagrees.
Enter an actor to be her "boyfriend." LJY is jealous big time. They go to the park to shoot their "couple" scene on roller skates but An Yue starts to fall and LJY comes in to save her. Only to get reprimand by the producer that they are not shooting an action film.
Now this was funny, it begins to rain and LJY goes to get his umbrella. Fake boyfriend gets his umbrella sliced by LJY so she could only use his umbrella because "fake boyfriends" was cut up when he opened it. Talk about jealous. Then she was reading the script and there was a kissing scene. LJY told her he needed to know when the rehearsal would take place so he could plan the security in advance. Too funny. Jealous much!
Meanwhile fake boyfriend had made a plan to come to An Yue's hotel room to practice the scene. Didn't happen. But LJY wasn't having that. Backed her up against the door...while fake boyfriend is ringing the doorbell to come in. Whew! She told him that she was tired, and she would see him in the morning...ok!!!
Episode 6 - LJY has one month to convince An Yue to have a full body examination. He asks JTC to check out the medical team and what is this examination about. An Yue finds out information that LJY only approached her to get close to XiXi so she asks him to take her back to the movie theater where she wanted to get his response.
They leave the theater and its dark and LJY takes out his lighter because he is afraid of the dark.He tells her that he never thought of her as Xi Xi substitute. They go to the Ghost Market where she asks the man to make her a sugar figurine of a star. They are holding hands and being a couple. Too cute. He tells her the figurine is melting. He bits it. She gets on her tiptoes and kisses him. He goes in for a deeper kiss after that and the lights come on in the market. They smile at each other.
Tian Sui gets a day off because BDF takes her cell phone away from her. They enjoy a day on the lake. Meanwhile, JTC is trying to get a hold of her and cannot. He has a tracker on her phone and finds her with BDF. He goes to leave but she has her phone back and calls him. She hears his phone, and he knows he is busted and goes over to both of them. BDF tells him that he didn't answer her question honestly if he came there for her. The reason why is he has approximately one year because he has hyperplasia caused by shrapnel which would compress on his brain's main artery, and it would rupture. There is little chance of success for this surgery, but he needs to make a decision and soon. So, I believe he will give up pursuing Tian Su because of this.
Doing more shooting of An Yue and her fake boyfriend...they are doing a scene where he eats cotton candy which means it is close to kissing. Well, jealous LJY is playing darts and shoots one right between him and the cotton candy that An Yue is holding. An Yue smiles because she knows he is jealous. He wins tons of stuff animals.
An Yue has major flashbacks after they drive to the scene of the crash but doesn't tell LJY.
Hot Moments
- When An Yue wonders if her and XiXi were twins or if she had plastic surgery. She asks LJY to check her face and see if there are any signs of plastic surgery. Pinch her nose and chin. Is there any prosthetics. This is all the while both each are staring intently into each other eyes.
- The whole music video in episode 4
- The was a moment that someone capture with LJY swinging her around in her arms which went viral on social media. They wanted them to be a couple.
- An Yue and LJY getting caught in her father's study behind the curtain. When he opens it up, he finds LJY shirt open, and they are in a compromising position.
