She’s still battling her depression, rooted from her past in Jeju. It will take sometime for her to be a part of that community again. But we can see in the final scene that the people there already embraced her.

I guess in a way his mother was also suffered a big loss in her life. Knowing too late that her son is a kind-hearted and generous man, but she couldn’t ask him for more of his love and care. Because she knew she didn’t deserve it, and maybe she was also punishing herself because of her bad attitude and choice in the past.
Just like most of us here, their life are still not perfect. Life is still unfair. But everyone got their closure and some kind of realistically happy ending. And they do deserve it because they are honest, hard-working people, they help each other and be there for one another. They’re not afraid to show their feelings, to love and be loved. They know when they made mistakes and try to amend it as best as they can. And after all that’s been said and done, they’re just simple people who wanted to feel happiness.
I wouldn’t mind 4 more episodes just to get some more glimpses to their life
