The Romance is only lame for people who wished for BL. Those of us who don't mind think it's a lovely romance.…
"I think in the last two episodes the ML will start to open up more to the FL."

The Ep 11 preview suggests the exact opposite actually.

Also, Yeo Jun isn't that type of character, in fact, one of his quirks in the webtoon is that he likes to cuddle and get hugs after having sex to feel some of the affection he didn't get from his mother (the strongest female presence in his life).

Maturity is when you realise that the world has run out of ideas when it comes to making a romcom and coming of…
Maturity is also when you realize that companies have been buying up adaptation rights to existing ip for the purpose of selling a completely different product while hiding behind it's recognizable name and characters hoping the fans will tune in anyway. And it's totally okay to criticize and drag them for it so they'll stop leeching off others' successful creations like this.

Interestingly, most of the things you (and I've seen others) find different about this story are actually the things they took from the "College Misaeng" concept the PD claimed all over their pre-release articles and the webtoon, so one has to further question why that was not the product we received. Most of the criticisms I've seen are actually for the romcom aspects that are rather poorly developed and uninspired in comparison so it feels like they just added something that did more to hurt the drama rather than strengthen it.

I think they were trying to make a point about how you can still end up still socializing and being friendly with problematic people because they have their good side too, but because this show has been so heavy handed and ridiculous with the plots involving those bullies, it just makes Youngran look like a flake hanging with people connected to kidnapping and assault. Also this show just has it out for writing its female characters with a semblance of consistent logic lmao

No. But Jun and Soohyun's chemistry is still worth the watch (if you can stomach all the romances).
Yeah they're only a bromance but tbf that was their relationship in the webtoon too. And yeah, Jun does end up dating the girl (which wasn't in the webtoon but that's a whole different topic of rants lol).

They are. The best pair in the drama. Again, if you can take the romance then worth it to stick it out for them since they eventually start living together and getting even cuter, sweeter moments.

Since they derailed so much of this show focusing on syrupy romance, the only ending I would be 100% happy with now is if the last two episodes are 80% Yeo family conclusion then the remaining 20% was spent on Jun being exposed for sleeping with other women the whole time so he breaks up with Sobin and Soohyun turns down both Youngran and Mijoo then has a scene where he and Junwan lock eyes. At least then at the every end we could get a proper taste of the webtoon energy. Don't care about the rest of the canon fodder campus cast or their endings so no need to spend a single second on them.

YES!I hate it when stories use romance as a "fix all" for a character with trauma. Most of the time, they aren't…
This is Jihoon's second drama as the main lead, Love Revolution was his first main lead but he was actually a child actor long before he was an idol (though his roles were mainly guest and minor appearances). He also was in Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency with Kim Minjae and Byun Wooseok. :3

She's still a victim even if she is an abuser herself. She used Jun as a dumping ground for all her problems so she can have some company in her misery so I don't feel sorry for her at all and she definitely hasn't earned an ounce of forgiveness. If it were me in that situation, you better believe I'd be doing everything in my power to get my boys outta there even if it put me in jail not giving up and going all psycho abusive mother.

what is up with Joon saving So Bin all the time? that scene in ep 9 was absolutely nonsensical and not needed.…
It's this writer. They can't write female characters for a damn and can't find a single compelling narrative for Sobin to warrant giving her main lead screentime so they just keep going into the Candy Girl trope book. She's an entirely useless accessory to Jun that wasn't even needed in this story since he still respects and confides in Soohyun a whole lot more.

Haven't commented here in a while so will just organize my overall thoughts in a review later but let's just say I, unfortunately, have to agree with a lot of the criticisms here about the direction this show went in. Jihoon's been consistently impressive with his performance and the whole Yeo family cast (Inwoo, Heejung, Hyungmook) is electric when they're onscreen. The chemistry between Jihoon and Inhyuk in the Junhyun scenes has helped me hold on as well. So I've been happy with those parts at least, should've been much more of them in this drama instead of what we got. :/

I think some of the problems people have identified with the romance plot in the drama (like the fast progression of it, how it doesn't make a lot of sense for Jun to be super interested in Sobin right now when he's supposed to be obsessing over Soohyun, etc) can be attributed to VC trying to condense what was 3 seasons worth of webtoon material into a 12-episode miniseries.

For perspective, the webtoon started in 2013. The Sobin-Chanki arc in Jun's story wrapped up in 2020.

They're handling Jun-Soohyun's story progression amazingly well though given the circumstances. But that can also be credited to the fact the story is fundamentally built off their relationship to begin with. They hinted already what's really motivating Jun to take an interest in Sobin's situation but the drama has been developing their story so rapidly that I really don't know where they plan to go with it.

Is it explained in the webtoon why Joon’s parents hate him, abuse him and are hostile towards him? I mean, is…
Unfortunately, his parent's hatred and abuse towards him doesn't go much deeper than that. :/ His father is ultra competitive and obsessed with appearances so he believes having a son who wasn't born a super genius to be a blight on his otherwise "perfect" life. His mother is a cold, narcissistic woman who hates her marriage and has an inferiority complex that she takes out on Jun since he's an easy target. She's the epitome of "misery loves company". They're just really horrible people.

Junwan gave up on their parents a long time ago. He actually really loves Jun even more than he loves himself and hates himself for not being able to set them both free (I won't spoil the reasons for his cold behavior just in case they do address it in the drama since it's tied to a pretty big reveal).

It's Jun who (at this point) is still optimistic about their parents, believing their family isn't a lost cause and they can still change. One of his big developments in the webtoon story is that he does eventually face his trauma head on and starts standing up for himself against his parents. His blonde hair is already a step towards that because his mother was actually correct, he DID dye his hair blonde to spite them. Currently in the webtoon, he's going up against his father.

Looks like we're finally getting to the real fun with Yeojun and Soohyun's bromance taking more focus. I honestly do enjoy Jun and Sobin, I think they have an adorable dynamic with Jun's wolfish teasing, and Sobin, though timid, reigns him back when he goes too far. But that delicious tension between Jun and Soohyun is what's really been driving me crazy hehehe. I am eating up their scenes. They're having all these typical romcom cliches going on between them but switch up some of the tropes between their roles. The hospital scene is living in my head rent-free. X-D

Technically, we should've gotten their bromance first before the whole Jun-Sobin-Chanki plot but trying to keep an open mind and I assume Victory Contents have their reasons for why they switched the order of events. I've been enjoying the drama a lot nonetheless and I'm pleasantly pleased Jun's f%ckb0i side did sneak its way into the drama in some form (though obviously we're not gonna get any steamy ONS scenes).

Btw as a May, it's really making me happy seeing people acknowledge Jihoon's acting abilities. <3 I've been captivated by his performance here, I'm so happy he got to play such a morally ambiguous, multifaceted character like Jun after the dorky cutie Juyeong.

just to clarify,Yeo Jun the ML is straight. He smokes, drinks and do s* x with girls. While Soohyun is the gay…
Technically Soohyun is considered a co-lead in the comic with Yeojun but yeah... there's a reason he was the one dropped to 2nd lead in the drama version and it's not just because of the lack of the BL plotline.

I think Sobin actually has the biggest chance to surprise people as a character since she was originally a secondary character so they have to write an expanded story for her. If Jun is commentary on youth's obsession with image and being loved then Sobin could be commentary on youth's struggle with mediocrity and fruitlessly working hard to make up for a lack of special talent. I'm just worried that all they did was increase her screentime with the same Yeojun-Chanki plot and added scenes with Soohyun so she can be part of the main plot. But it's only been two episodes so too soon to tell how they're gonna handle her as a lead.

Btw for those not following the drama on other platforms, the bungee scene went viral on tiktok gaining millions of views in only a couple of days. Victory Contents even noticed and put out a behind video on it.

Idk how far the drama will go, but yeah it's true. Well, I guess sociopath actually fit him better since he sometimes…
His relationship with Sobin is unhealthy in it's own way but isn't as intense as that. He doesn't become obsessed with her or anything like that. His interest in her actually stems from him seeing a lot of himself in her and wanting to help that person bloom so it's kind of a vanity thing? But Sobin is the one that helps him realize that and they remain friends. Can't be sure if it'll play out the same way in the drama though since they made her role bigger and added a lot more romance elements than the webtoon had. Many of their scenes so far like the bungee scene, the classroom door, etc are all drama original scenes.

Hello, I’m new here! I really like this drama and the actors are really good - I haven’t read the webtoon,…
You're pretty on track with Sobin. Her main deal is she's been in love with her friend Chanki forever but can't let him go even though he has no interest at all in her as a woman. Yeojun takes an interest in her situation because he sees himself in her and offers to be her pretend boyfriend. This happened in the webtoon too. Their relationship never progressed past a close friendship but who knows what they'll do in the drama since Sobin is no longer a secondary character.
