even though I love the actors, especially soyoung, and I've seen the original, I do not plan on watching this…
Saesangs and antifans are two different things . Saesangs are obsessively in love with the celebrity to the point they engage in stalking and harassment to get close to them. Antifans are just haters and while the rare cases can get to the point of criminal behavior, most are just keyboard warriors trying to bring the celebrity down through rumors. Sorry, but I feel it's important to keep that distinction bcs while antifans get sued or arrested when they get out of control, saesangs are often treated with kids gloves by the celeb's agency since they're part of the fandom (plenty are fansites) & are usually big spenders so the agency doesn't want to lose their business.
I don't see how this drama is glorifying either anyway though. This is your standard enemies to lovers trope with the hate starting as a mutual misunderstanding & it's the jerk ml carelessly throwing around his influence while the stubborn fl's efforts at retaliation keep backfiring.
Glad we finally get to see this drama. It's worrying a completed drama took this long to find a network willing to air it but at least the cast and production staff's hard work won't go to waste. I was sold on the premise alone so hoping for the best.
There's no up to date English translation available for the webtoon afaik. All the information I know about it is through summaries & spoilers given to me from friends who are reading it in Korean. There's an ig trying to translate it but they're only in the first season of the webtoon: www.instagram.com(/)from_distance_green_spring(/)
Is it 100% sure that Na In Woo will be in this ? Because he is still filming River Where The Moon Rises ....Or…
Yes, a press article was released confirming he started filming his scenes right after wrapping up Moon Rises (he took no days off to accomplish this) and he posted a selca on his ig that looks to be from where they were filming at the campus yesterday too.
I'm looking forward to this so much. The cast is great and the webtoon this is adapted from is very interesting, focusing more on the psychological and darker impacts of growing up in less than ideal homes while still having the pressures of getting a good education and living up to society's expectations of you. I especially like that the central relationship is Jun and Soohyun's odd friendship while the romance is secondary. As long as they keep all that intact in the adaptation, this has potential to be one of the best youth kdramas to come out in quite some time. So glad a project like this is Jihoon's first network lead role and he gets to do slice of life/melodrama after two romcoms in a row.
