Article Poor Depiction of Real Life Issues in Popular K-dramas
I found it incredibly difficult to watch It's okay to not be okay, and could not go past episode 2. I could never explain why, but a lot of it is what you describe here - the use of mental illness as a plot device sits uncomfortably with me.

I have watched kdramas before Cloy, maybe 3 or 4 of them over 10 years.. But after Cloy I have seen 30+ kdramas. Not sure how to explain it!
