Are you one of the few people who missed the entire Lovely Runner hype?!
It is very light hearted and funny, I guess ep 1 is the only exception (starts off dark) but all other episodes are super cute and laugh-out-loud funny mostly. You should give it a try!
I think there is one major difference (unless I misunderstood something) but the King appoints the Prime Minister…
Here also the king 'appoints' the prime minister and the prime minister can only assume power once the king 'consents', it's just a tradition and only for maintaining the ritual though, as the prime minister is democratically elected.
If anyone wants to know how the succession, regency and duties work in a constitutional monarchy, have a look at the British royal family. I thought it was very much modelled after it (one of the few large constitutional monarchies left in the world) with the king having not much power in governing, but has a lot of attention/celebrity status.
I know this drama is full of praise everywhere but this is my take - The first 10-12 episodes are absolutely amazing and really keep you engrossed - 12-28 episodes or so, it gets more complex with many more characters added and I think it begins to lose its initial charm here. It's 80% war/fighting + villains' romances and 20% leads' romance, I don't mind this because the fighting scenes are very good as well - 28 and beyond - I think the plot becomes difficult to follow here, too much palace politics and poor pacing/editing which means we don't understand anything happening fully. I had to read the forum discussions and parts of the book to really get what was going on. I didn't even understand the famous (infamous?) ep 38 scene because there was no context.
I like some of the older cdramas better, like Love Between Fairy and Devil , Untamed, Joy of Life etc. They didn't have any editing issues and the context was clearly laid out.
can someone explain to me what is it abt and why every season has a new male lead
It's about relationships, like in real life. Things dont always work out in real life, you break up and meet someone else. It's a good series, you should try it!
Love Between Fairy and Devil is one of my favourite dramas and this one is quite similar (OST is practically the same). The framing of shots, the way they show the ML as an insanely talented man with shades of grey, the lack of second leads etc. But I am only on ep 20, will be interesting to see how it ends!
