Well the whole of last year, actors had their dramas overlap in release (back to back even on different platforms). I wouldn't put it past Youku to air this right as Cheng He Ti Tong is going to finish airing, so they can ride on Wang Churan's popularity from it.

Both Li Fei and Lin Ze Hui don't seem to have many dramas this year. Maybe they are taking a break since they did quite a few last year? Or they are all working as part of several bigger full length productions? That could explain the lack of seeing them since the full length dramas do take forever to come out. And if they are doing a few back to back, they won't have time for the short dramas since the filming timeline for full length productions is several months, compared to the much shorter shooting schedule and release schedule of short dramas.

So far Fu Yu Shu's performance and plots have never disappointed. She is able to play a wide range of characters, whether a young, innocent and child-like 18 year old girl or a mature, well groomed doctor, or a spoiled heiress.

Well if you think about it, she does look much younger than him. So even in that sense, it might feel weird to have him play a younger ML.

If you mean the girl in read at the beginning then its Yuan Bing Yan (Crystal Yuan). The scene is from her older drama Listening Snow Tower starring with Qin Jun Jie.

As with all these short dramas, especially the revenge one set in the republican era, the plot and characters are frustrating as hell. But i guess it can be attributed to the fact that it was a war period with too many people having vested interests in too many things. It makes everything, from people to situations, almost impossible to differentiate as black or white, good or bad. Everything is a messy grey. But one thing I agree with the FL in this drama is that, while in the ML perspective, she is his only concern and he would do anything to protect her.... he keeps making decisions for her, and it has always led to devastating consequences. He doesn't seem to learn to just discuss things with her and devise a plan. Rather, he runs about making choices on her behalf that end up hurting her more than if he had just betrayed her or given her up. Its like every time she feels like he can be forgiven or she just comes to terms with one tragedy, he manages to create another one for her to hate him over. And clearly even the fiance and the gang leader are just using her. Poor thing has almost no one actually on her side now that Zhao Xun is dead. The ML's actions are soo back and forth they give me whiplash just watching. Not to mention the poor FL who has to experience the consequences of all his actions.

BUT, it is also true that the FL is a bit too trusting of the people in her gang. Even after all that planning, when somone in the gang betrayed her and got Huo Jin killed, she should have started to suspect the people whom she has been calling allies. Of course, we can give her the benefit of doubt that she lost 2 people she held dear, one after another. So she didn't think too deeply into it. But for somone who has planned so much for revenge, she isn't vigilent enough.

Don't think this is accurate cause How dare you only wrapped filming a few months back and there is no news of its Final cut or passing review. Unlikely it will air this year. But there have been an increasing number of posts by IQIYI for Fated Hearts. My guess is that will air maybe end of this month or next month like predicted, but the rest, i'm skeptical

Well if you haven't already watched it, Blossom was pretty good. Legend of the Female General too.

I thought I was the only one that felt that way. After 3 back to back Cheng Lei drama drops, there is suddenly nothing to watch except to just wait for Journey of Legend to finish airing. How are the platforms not rushing to occupy this empty time period. Whoever releases the next drama is probably going to get all the viewership!!

Possible. I also feel like her family actually has some idea of her having powers. Think about it, they fuss over her, but also if she says she can handle things, they seem to let her have her way. Almost as if they know she can handle things just fine. Especially the empress. I feel like she knows way more about Wu Zhen's situation than meets the eye, if not why let her interfere in these demon related things when she knows how dangerous it could be.

Yeah. Destined with Bia Jingting was really well done. I also liked her acting in Luoyang

So just to get this straight, do we assume this is an alternate universe version of the Novoland Pearl Eclipse story? In Pearl Eclipse, Ti Lan did not go with her lover, and she married into Da Zheng as the Emperor's consort, even giving birth to their son before dying with the Emperor. So, how does this story fit with Pearl eclipse?

I agree. But what is nice about it is that they are probing without being disrespectful or vicious to the other person. In fact even though they suspect one another they still help the other out. Its also nice that the ML is not a silent bystander to the slandering the FL undergoes. While everyone, even her friends talk about her like she is a dandy, he always interjects for her and speaks in favour of her. Its like he saw something in her that tells him there is much more to this easy going FL than meets the eye. I feel like he somehow could tell that she is burdened with some unspeakable responsibility and that everything she is showing people is just a facade to cover it up.

I think she wasn't really betting on his feelings for Lin Tao, but she already noticed that as he interacted more and more with humans, he began to feel more and more human-like emotions. When they first descended for their tribulation, if you noticed, while she liked spending time observing and interacting with people without any purpose, he only ever interacted with a purpose and avoided any other unnecessary interactions. So all his communication with humans was strictly business.
So in the illusion, Ruyue forced him to have emotional interactions with mortal, cause she knew that those interactions would slowly but surely get him feeling.

I think she is not completely denying that he has some feelings for her. But if you pay attention to the conversation she has with her master in the latest episode, she mentions that she can't gamble on the fact that he loves her to save her child when he was able to leave her completely on her own for 10 years after all his so called love claims. Her point is that he may love her, but she doesn't want to take the chance with it every again as she now has no faith in his words since they always seem to contradict his actions.

Think about it:
He claims to love her but doesn't tell her the reason why he doesn't want children. That itself hits her hard for in her eyes as she saw with mortals, those that love one another want to have children together. But he doesn't, which puts a bit of a barrier between her love and his love.

Then he claims to love her and is doing everything for her sake, but seals her powers and leaves her in the mortal world just like that, thinking, what could possibly happen. Even if he was going to the Heavenly realm to get punished in her place, he could have had someone look out for her while he was away. Instead, she had to deal with so much all alone and not a soul from Canglei palace, or anyone who knew them, came to her aid.

When she returned, he just expected her to accept him as is, like nothing ever happened, which means he never took her feelings into consideration at all.

When she tried to revive her child, he didn't stop for a second to question her. No one did. They all just accused her of treason and fought her.

If you were here, would you really be able to believe Bai Jiusi if he said he loved you?
He didn't even give her the basic trust and respect one expects from their lover or spouse.

Its not that she doesn't believe. She can't bring herself t believe. Cause if its true, then all her suffering becomes a part of his so-called "protection" and she can't claim revenge. She is traumatised and needs someone to blame. And while his love and intentions towards her were good, they caused her a lot of harm, something he can never make up for. So admitting even to herself that he loves her would make all her pain and suffering will become insignificant in comparison to his "great love".
