Ok. So according to the current track, ZiYu really is the former SW's biological son. But why did the former SW hold higher hopes for him than he seemed to for his eldest son. Maybe this whole thing has more to do with Gong Huan Yu's birth than GZY's??!! What if Gong Huan Yu is not the biological son, so the former SW was always gearing either ZiYu or ShangJue to become the next SW?? Because even in the beginning there was a scene where the former SW tells GSJ that he is the most worthy of the position. Which would mean the man didn't have a lot of faith in his eldest son's abilities as a potential SW!!

Is it just me or did anyone else feel that ZiYu's older brother was a bit off?? Especially his last scene with his father and Gong Shangjue and in the flashback of the scene when Lady Wuji recollects the events of that night?
Of course this could jsut be Lady Wuji throwing shade on him. But considering that to most people older than ZiYu, it was so obvious that their father was biased towards him, with going against the elders to get him his own green jade guardian when he wasn't even qualified to be a young master (since he didn't pass the trial yet). Also in the scenes where they show ZiYi being trained by their father and him training alone, I always felt like the older brother didn't seem to show much concern for his brother who was crying in pain from being too cold. Instead, he boosted his own training. Somehow it almost felt like he was just using ZiYu to build a good image for himself as a loving and caring brother. And the fact that he never persuaded ZiYu to continue training and try to make him better understand his father's mindset towards him, something a newcomer like YWS could almost immediately figure out. Its like he intentionally wanted the child their father pinned his hopes on to become a failure. Probably when he became sword wielder, he intended to somehow dispose of Ziyu under the pretence of being his loving older brother. But he got outwitted by a Wu Feng Chi assassin.

But if that is the case, why is YWS using her internal energy? After all, GZY kept saying she is very hot as well. That means the true nature of her energy is not yin but yang right?? Or did i miss something? Or does this mean Han Ya Si lied to YWS about easing the pain using the herbs and internal energy?

BTW I was hoping someone could explain this scene to me. In episode 8 ending, the part where both YWS and SGQ suffer from the Wu Feng poison, why does SQG keep telling herself not to use the internal energy, while YWS drinks the herb mixture and uses her internal energy to reduce her pain? Is this just something to do with YWS Hanya being nicer to her and caring about her than SGQ's HanYa??

I think she is a Chi, but by choice. She is probably good enough to become Mei but she chose to stay a Chi either for her sister or because she was not willing to do what it took to become a Mei. Because remember Shangguan Qian's conversation with her HanYa, she says she sacrificed a lot to go from Chi to Mei. So YWS maybe doesn't want to do whatever that sacrifice was, so she prefers to stay a Chi.

Another possibility is that for someone to go from Chi to Mei, they need to kill a loved one or something like that. Shangguan Qian may have killed someone in her family to become a Mei, while YWS's only relative which was her sister died on a mission or she didn't want to kill her sister, and since she doesn't know her real family, or they are all dead, she can't become a Mei even if she wanted to.

If she was kidnapped at a young age and not told about her family history, she might just think they chose Yun Wei Shan to impersonate because she looks similar to her. That would also explain why she was nervous, cause if she doesn't know about her family background and doesn't realize how much of a similarity she has to Yun Wei Shan, then she would expect to be found out. But the fact that the other lady so easily recognized her and likely because the gong sect would not have only asked those few people. They would have asked a lot of people to recognize her. If everyone manages to identify her, then it means there must be quite a bit of similarity between Yun Wei Shan and the real Yun Wei Shan. Also we can't even say that these people were threatened by or planted by Wu Feng. Because, if Wu Feng threatened these people to testify that she is YWS then there would have been people who were nervous to identify her or even identified her more readily.

I know that part obviously. What I mean is that Wu Feng purposely chose Yun Wei Shan to be the bride that the current Yun Wei Shan replaces, possibly cause she really is the real Yun Wei Shan's sister. This way, if the Gong sect tries to check her identity, her similarity in features would help her get away with the check. Also, if you noticed in the earlier episodes, Zheng NanYin is the real daughter of the Zheng family and Shangguan Qian is also the real daughter of the Shangguan family. Plus, Wu Feng knew that the Gong family was going to select brides in 20 years, so they got daughters from several prominent families to join them, either voluntarily, like Shangguan or perhaps by kidnapping (which is what I suspect happened with the current Yun Wei Shan and Yun Que).
This was what I meant by the whole idea that the current Yun Wei Shan is the real Yun Wei Shan's sister.

Yeah. I feel like even the casting has been done like this on purpose. If you notice both ZiYu's father and brother have a more muscular and gruff physical appearance, while those living in the back hill have a more gentle and regal appearance similar to ZiYu.

Ok, I have a theory:
There is the idea floating around that Xue Tong Zi is Gong ZiYu's real father. Although I would love for this to be true, I am not entirely sure how that works into the story as Xue Tong Zi has probably never left the mountain, while Lady Lan probably met Gong ZiYu's real father somewhere before she arrived at Gong Sect.
But my theory does stem from the idea that Gong ZiYu might be Xue Tong Zi's son or the son of someone powerful from the back hill. That is why ZiYu's father, the former Sword Weilder, was so anxious to protect his birth record and his life, even getting a Red Jade guardian to give up his position and become ZiYu's personal Green Jade guardian. It would also explain why the elders are so willing to adjust the various rules of the Gong Sect to let ZiYu continue to be the new Sword Wielder.

I also saw the theory that Yun Wei Shan might be related to the real Yun Wei Shan. That might explain why so many people in Lixi town recognized her portrait. Maybe she and Yun Que were really sisters of Yun Wei Shan, and like Shangguan Qian, their families sent a very young Yun Wei Shan and Yun Que to become members of Wu Feng, while the real Yun Wei Shan was left to grow up with her parents. Perhaps the Yun family got protection from Wu Feng by doing so? Or Wu Feng planned the whole thing and either took in daughters from prominent families who were willing to send their daughters into Wu Feng (Like Shangguan Qian), or kidnapped other daughters from prominent families who were unwilling to send their daughters to become Wu Feng assassins. This way Wu Feng has real daughters from prominent families that they can send into the Gong sect when the time is right.

If the theory is true, and since there seems to have always been some speculation within the Gong family about GZY's birth father, its possible that the reason the elder's want GZY to be the head rather than GSJ is also because of the possibility that he is Xue Tong Zi's son??

Could be. Im not sure about with lead actors, and not sure if the airing platforms control this stuff, but I have noticed several times where a support actor will appear in multiple dramas that come out back to back. For example, He Zhong Hua, who played Sikong Chang Feng in "The blood of youth", also played the emperor Xiao Yi in "Till the end of the moon" and also Fan Xuan in the drama "Destined". Then there is also Zheng Guo Lin who playes Li Su Su's adopted father in "Till the end of the moon", the FL father in "Dear Mr. Heavenly fox" the FL 's father in "Lost You Forever" and also the emperor in the "Legend of ZhuoHua".

Im guessing your refering to the slightly darker overall videography that is similar in both dramas, and the fact that they both portray pretty brutal story lines.

No problem. Im gonna keep updating here though until SOKP comes out. Its more for my own sanity sake than anything else. Plus its nice to know im not alone in waiting for this drama ;)

So looks like following the upcoming list is useless. I mean it wasn't even on the mainland's top 25 upcoming dramas and yet it overtook everything else that was on the list and aired. Does this mean we have to wait even longer for SOKP?
Although there is the other possibility that IQIYI is trying to avoid another situation like SOKP has by suddenly airing traffic star costume dramas that they have lined up until the pressure of the possible 3rd censorship for traffic star dramas dies down.

I hope SOKP airs this month too. As for Dreamcatcher, im not too sure about whether it is BL or not.

Xiao Zhan's Sunshine with Me is set to premiere on 1st September. So all the dramas have moved up by 1 place. But otherwise, no other drama per say has a release date. Im guessing they will only release dates for any other dramas once we actually hit September
