In that case, the oly reason the current elder Yue is part of both back and front hill is that he is the only remaining member of the Yue clan that can count as an elder since the previous elder was killed.)

ZJW's issue actually was resolved a while back. He had new dramas release since that issue, that too with him as the ML. His weibo is also active. As for the drama's episode count, its actually 36 episodes. Even on IQYI official page its 36 episodes. For some reason the episode number on this page was changed to 48 about a month or so ago and they haven't changed it back.

With the idea that he was in love with Yun Que (YWS sister) becoming a solid theory and that he perhaps helped her escape the Gong sect and get back to Wu Feng, maybe he was there to ask for information about her?? If she was alive or not or something like that?? Then if he found out she was dead, he suspected that Wu Feng killed her because the Fortnight flies is not a poison. So he now hates anyone Wu Feng, until at some point he sees YWS necklace with YQ ring on it or YWS confronts him on how he knows YQ.
Im also curious if the show will actually include the whole YWS and Gong Yuan Zhi love plot. Cause its already episode 16/24 and there is no signs of that happening unless that changes with the next 8 episodes. Especially the theory that his love story is tragic because he dies trying to make the antidote to cure YWS poison. But now that we know that fortnight flies is not a poison, I wonder if that plotline will exist at all unless she gets afflicted by another poison at some point later in the story, which is very much possible as either Shangguan Qian, Wuji or someone from Wu Feng could poison her as she is a liability to their plan

In fact that's what Elder Yue suggests to GZY too, when he asks about what kind of person Gong Shang Jue is, Its clear to everyone that what Gong Shang Jue wants is a person who is strong enough to care for the Gong sect, but because he is so blinded by vengeance for his dead mother and brother, I think the elders are hesitant to consider him for the position of SW. That's why they kept passing him over, even though he was clearly stronger than Gong Huan Yu and Gong Ziyu. They also potentially are biased to Gon Ziyu because the elders are all fed up of being unable to leave the mountain, be it the back hill or the front hill. But its odd how only Male traffic star dramas seem to be having this issue. Its the case with Xiao Zhan, Cheng Yi, and now with Zhang Ling He. Its never because of the female lead. I mean Esther Yu, Bai Lu and Zhao Lusi should easily be considered traffic stars as well, but somehow if the male lead is not a traffic star, the drama airs without a hitch.

Honestly no idea. I just know it was rumoured for early 2022 initially. I mean for a modern drama it and Oath of Love took forever to come out. So I might be able to answer the reason as to why GHY might have faked his death. This is a theory that I came across last night and I think it makes sense if you think of the series of event.
The theory was the the former SW (GZY's father) put the eternal fire 'into' Ziyu's body, possibly because of his extremely cold nature or for some other reason. But the knowledge to it is in GZY posession. GHY wants the eternal fire. Now they didn't explain of GHY is WuFeng or he has some other motives, but he kaed his death, so ZY can become the sword weilder and they would have a chance to get the Eternal Fire from him.
Now this part was not explained in the video but my theory is that since he possesses the Eternal fire, Ziyu needs to be able to maybe activate it and the only way to do that might be to develop his martial arts by having him go through the 3 trials and mastering the gong family martial arts. And with how things were going, the only way to do that would be to force him into the position of SW. Then he would have no choice but to go through with the trials.
Another possibility is to prevent GSJ from becoming SW. This works if GHY was perhaps part of Wu Feng. Cause the last thing Wu Feng would want is a capable Gong family leader who they might not be able to beat once he master's the family martial arts. Making GZY SW might have been to buy time till they can their plan into action to get the eternal fire from GZY, since he is not fully ready to be a proper SW. There is a YouTube channel that seems to be suggesting that Gong Huan Yu is the one behind all the chaos and that he faked his death to get the eternal fire or whatever that secret gong family martial arts manual is. They also suggested that Wuji helped him in all of this. I also came across a lot of leaked scenes from future episodes. I won't say exactly what they were but these scenes definitely give a good idea of the more important character endings.

True. That probably makes more sense. But that means there is another reason why everyone is so optimistic about GZY becoming the SW. Is it possible that his extremely cold nature makes him the perfect person to master the Gong family's secret manual, that Extreme fire or whatever that was. Perhaps no one in the recent generations has been able to master it because their body conditions were not suited to learning this. But GZY is the only one in the entire family who has an extremely cold body nature. And this secret manual's martial arts might be the Gong family's one shot at getting rid of Wu Feng.
