I agree, even if the parents did sue all the emotional strain from the process would probably have led Hsiao Tung down the same path anyway. I think the largest turning point was the video being uploaded and her humiliation becoming much larger. I doubt suing would’ve prevented this, but I’m not sure how successful a government would be in taking down a video that spread like hers.

Absolute tragic masterpiece. I feel so bad for the family she leaves behind after all they have been through with her. The ending seems realistic though unfortunately and it just shows the depth of her love for Jen Yao

Personally I really like this, but I can see why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I think much of the criticism comes from the fact it aired weekly like most kdramas. Without being able to binge I can see this show being quite a frustrating watch but it’s not a bad show at all not worth the rating. If you like angst and emotional depth you’ll enjoy this

It’s genuinely a great show, great balance of humour and emotional moments. Surprisingly dark at times too which I love

The lead couple in this is amazing and carries the show. I wish there was more scenes of them and less of everyone else (not Xiao ru she’s great).

Can someone who’s read the manwha spoil. Does this story actually have romance and interaction between the leads because it really seems like they are going to milk out the past while the ML tries to solve the curse. The premise is really interesting and I feel like it sets up a strong base for a compelling and deep romantic connection. It doesn’t seem like they’ll go in that direction so far unfortunately.

Disappointed by this. Chae Jong Hyeop is a far more convincing romantic male lead.

I really don’t understand the people who find LYM annoying, she’s honestly a fantastic actress and clearly proved it here. I urge everyone who finds her character annoying to look back on her character with empathy and then all her actions will seem genuine and understandable. Ultimately all she does is try her best to find unconditional love and a place to belong. I really enjoyed this show the characters were very interesting and the story is rich with meaningful messaging. Woo Do hwan is fantastic as usual.

I think the main reason why a lot of people aren’t liking this show is because the side are cartoonish and annoying. Some kdramas can pull that off but this one definitely does not. The side characters don’t have likeable qualities and they are not funny at all. This is especially true with yong ju henchmen. The main characters are the only somewhat interesting part of the show.

This show doesn’t deserve the hate. It has beautiful cinematography and is well acted. It shows very real and genuine problems in the entertainment space and has one of the best portrayals of unrequited love in any kdrama with the ml and sfl. The days of Suzy being labelled a bad actress should be long gone, the way that she depicts a depressed character that likes to poke fun as a defence mechanism feels very genuine. Her acting throughout this show will make you feel a lot of emotions and the chemistry between Suzy and YSJ is very good. I especially enjoy the lack of background music in intimate scenes. It’s a very unique touch and made their chemistry seem that much more real. YSJ is excellent ofc but you probably already guessed that.
