In my personal opinion, it is on the good side of average. In the first few episodes, I thought it would be a standout drama, but it's gone downhill since. Unlike the other commenter mentioned, I actually did read the synopsis, but the switch took so long to happen that it felt out of place once it finally came and that's where the whiplash came from. I was expecting it the entire time, but the way it was done I guess just wasn't what I hoped for. I would recommend you give it a try. But know it will either be your cup of tea or not, don't bother struggling through if you aren't liking it. Many watchers seem to be doing that
I honestly don’t see the point of this whole body swap story, the original story itself is captivating enough,…
I agree with your sentiment that the drama was better before the switch and had enough legs to get them a whole story; however, I think I understand what they were going for with the switch: ML needs to understand the pain and humiliation he's inflicting on FL (that he mentions in dialog) which he can't understand as crown prince (like the whole disrobing the red shirt scene) in order to keep her from having to die again. With her memories gone from the first time, she stands no chance at court politics. The entire bird sequence was weird.
Although a note: They did hint at her memories returning through a nightmare scene, although if you're already bored and thus skipping ahead it was easily missed. It's around the middle to end of episode 8.
The story is starting to become disjointed. I don't know if that's just me with the fact I got caught up last week and had to wait to keep watching so maybe I forgot some critical details. Anyway, the fun came back part way through episode 8 but the previews for episode 9, uh oh.
Kang tae ohs overacting of dal is so cringee, I cant wait for this body swap saga to end or at least they figure…
I - also - unfortunately have to agree... His interpretation is too childish. Dal I doesn't sit down and cry at everything. She'd be using her powers as the crown prince to make herself more money, come on now. Episode 5 was good to me, but after watching 6 now I'm just hoping they switch back ASAP...
And no hate to the actor as he's done really well the rest of the time. But compared to Se-Jeong who has rocked both roles, well, it leaves something to be desired.
I dropped it cuz it was insanely boring to me on ep 3 or 4does it get more fun when they switch their bodies?…
Truthfully, if you didn't enjoy it before the switch, you probably won't after the switch. I am enjoying the show, but as a fellow drama-watcher: save your viewing time for something that interests you.
Just how does the left minister have all that power tho? He enthroned the current king by killing the former king…
I wonder this all the freaking time. How can the ministers have all this power compared to the kings? Considering how harsh they were with moral order, how did they and their whole families not just be ended?
this drama should be good right!I've watched reviews on fb they said it's good but why 7.7?is it really good?
Oftentimes, a drama will be brought down during airing because people will give it a chance but if it isn't their type or their interest isn't peaked, they will label it as so-so. My rule of thumb is a drama rated 7 on MDL is an average drama. It is very hard for a drama to reach 9 or above - you're talking masterpieces that everyone loves. A 7.7 is a decent rating around here i.e., most people who watched think it's pretty good.
Now this drama specifically, I do think is quite good - however, we're only a quarter (?) through, so that's subject to change. I would recommend you give it a go!
I agree. I've been watching without being primed that she's a bad actress, so I haven't really noticed and I think…
I'll give you that on the turning thing - it could be either her choice or the director's maybe even the writer, but I would think her acting would impact her line delivery
is this fun to watch? i need something different cause i watched too many thriller dramas 😭
It's incredibly fun. Soul swap is not in the first episode, so don't be surprised when it doesn't happen immediately. It's been a good watch so far. I find it a refreshingly nostalgic romcom/makjang. Looking forward to this weekend to see the next installments!
Hmm….after a week of procrastination I finally took my time to watch this drama 😪😪At first I was expecting…
I hear you. If you haven't seen Rebel: The Thief Who Stole the People it has a king who isn't controlled by anybody, if you like this genre and need a mix-up.
This is my first experience with actress Hong Suzu so I try to keep an open mind about her but ngl, the constant…
I agree. I've been watching without being primed that she's a bad actress, so I haven't really noticed and I think she's doing fine. In fact, I really like some of her choices - like in the temple with the ML she's ignoring him and bowing until she wants to speak to him and then she just whips around to have their glare off. It was a really great way to show her character as sharp and intentional. And the way she delivers some of her intense lines are simply fantastic imho. Like when she tells ML she's an evil person, or when she tells her father she's in charge now. Both very well-delivered.
I've just assumed the coldness and reservation is a part of the character she's portraying... the only daughter of a high-ranking minister could be like this is my mind. And with a psychopath father, of course she's been taught to be aloof and cynical.
A breath of fresh air in drama form. I'll be honest, I forgot about the synopsis by the time it actually came into play. Oh well, it's still a wonderfully nostalgic makjang. I recommend this highly as of the end of episode 4 for anyone wondering if it's worth a watch!
Can't tell you because they aren't there yet, but it isn't over. They are not married as of ep. 7.Suggestions…
I remembered this comment and thought I'd come back and answer your original question, in case you were still waiting. Yes, the leads did end up getting married
Although a note: They did hint at her memories returning through a nightmare scene, although if you're already bored and thus skipping ahead it was easily missed. It's around the middle to end of episode 8.
